Jezebel refuses to review No Man's Sky because it uses the word "Man"

I saw this article yesterday and knew that someone somewhere would think that it's real. Can't people tell when folks are trolling or not? It's Jezebel. They don't review games, that's what their sister site Kotaku is for. But even if it were The Mary Sue I'd think it was a joke. No one's that much of a straw feminist.

In all seriousness I don't know why they didn't name it "No one's sky". Star Trek did it. I mean why not?

Cause Star Trek did it. Might be copyrighted.

If real; their site their rules. I would have said its because of the lack of content, etc, etc, myself but hey clicks are clicks.

If fake; this is what I was saying in another topic. What is real and what is manufactured?

Guys...it's a joke.

Every once in awhile Jezebel shows profound insight about their knee-jerk hyper-feminist man-hating image. And occasionally, they post an article that simultaneously lampoons themselves and trolls the haters.

This is such a post.

And judging by the reaction here, it worked brilliantly.

Poe's Law is in full effect I see. I am also amused by all the anti-feminists in this thread going on about how they'll never read Jezebel again, as if they ever did it to begin with.

Good show to Jezebel, though, they made me smile with their trolling.

Joke or not it's clickbait. Enough for me to do block the website like any other clickbait piece of shit.

Or... y'know, they're linking to the Kotaku review because they don't review video games, making a joke, and riling up some reactionary dudes all at once?

Hahaha, honestly, I can't believe that worked.

Also, No Man's Sky. I am no man. My sky now.

EDIT: A straight link for those who need it. http://jezebel.com/why-isnt-it-called-no-womans-sky-1785411230
Of course it worked. It works every. Single. Time. Because for all their sneering over "safe spaces" and "triggers" and "hugboxes", the "SJWs Ruin Everything" crowd are some of the most easily-triggered people around.

It's probably a hoax.
Care to explain?
The guy who wrote it wasn't being genuine, he was just hoping to stir shit up.
Well of course and a lot of people will click it.

Convince it's followers that things are worse than ever so that they can market off feminism more than ever.

Only a small handful of feminists are going to see this as anything less than ridiculous but it's still part of the marketing process, this outrage clickbait headline will draw clicks from people who hate feminism in gaming and feminists who have a problem with the article being associated with the brand.

Pure outrage clickbait, this was in no way made to be appreciated unless it's a humor piece, I'm not clicking on it to find out.

This, as a joke, is actually really funny. Unfortunately, I don't think that Jezebel has earned enough good will to make a joke like this and have it go over well. You can blame people for "not getting it", but Jezebel has posted enough genuinely horrible shit in the past that it just comes off as uncomfortable.

It'd be like if breitbart posted an article saying they weren't going to support Ben-Hur because the title has her in it. It would just be weird.

I would never laud or applaud clickbait and trolling but this is apparently a thing that is done nowadays.
Funnily enough from people that at the same time decry trolling and clickbait.
It must depend on who is doing it and having it done towards.
I guess I'm finally becoming Trumped.

In Star Trek it was 'where no man/one has gone before'
So not close enough.

The thing is, it's believable that Jezebel would do this for clicks. It's not really satire when you normally scrape that deep in the barrel.

Alas no, because: *sings* YOU CAN'T TAKE THE SKYYY FROM MEEEE!

OT: Don't give a shit. Don't follow gaming media/news, so don't care if someone is/isn't playing a game for one reason or another. The number of fucks I give about this topic have fallen into the negatives.

I'm not a Trekie so don't know much about it, so thanks for that.

Jezebel?
The page whose parent company is about to go under in a million pieces?
The page makes gawker users look well by comparison?
That page?

Jumping to easy clickbait with straw woman feminism to attract attention? Yes, nothing new here.

I hope you "block" this website too, then, because pretty much everything posted here in the past year (or two, or three, depending on how finicky you are) has been clickbait.

No, they cannot. The ability (or lack thereof) of individuals on this site to spot Poes, Trolls and other ne'er-do-wells has already been well established, and this site is probably above the cut when it comes to critical analysis of what they read.

The best part is, the fact it's a ridiculously obvious joke won't change anything. The people who got angry will still be angry, remember it as real, and add it to their mental checklist of "SJW transgressions" to froth over the next time they're issuing a jeremiad online. The people who got angry, found out it was a joke, and want to remain angry without looking stupid will shift the goal posts slightly left and pretend it was click bait they were angry at all along. And useless pieces of shit like myself will poke fun at them for being such rubes, while adding nothing constructive to the conversation.

It's SHAMEFUL.

You must really be running out of sites to visit. If jokes count too, then I pity you for blocking The Onion.
