No it does not. http://www.simplypsychology.org/cognitive-dissonance.html More often than not, stress doesn't "snap us out out of it", it drives us deeper into existing belief structures.
Exactly this. I knew a lawyer who lost her partnership in the firm and her job because she kept litigating with her ex husband, and was convinced he was really stupid. When he started seriously kicking her ass in court, she didn't start acting sensibly, she doubled-down.

Nothing short of complete resource depletion (or a new target) is going to make DigiHom stop. They're never going to wake up one day and think "Wow, we've been complete dickheads! Let's change our act." They'll keep going until they physically can't.
There's a reason why pride is often considered the most destructive sin. This court battle is pretty much going to be a modern-day reenactment of Icarus.

I don't get how you sue a critic for doing his job and expect any critic to be regarded as though they carry weight when they know if they "damage a game's reputation " they couod be sued. I guess they're not thinking that far or just don't give a damn about the side effects. If by some insane turnabout they win and set precedent though, say goodbye to any critic and their legitimacy.
This is one of the more scary aspects of this case - the chance of precedent.

That being said, if a critic is spouting legitimate falsehoods with the intention of discrediting or harming the profitability of a company I do believe they should be liable for the damage caused. I just think it needs to be proven that the critic knowingly lied and did so maliciously.

In a court case like this I'm guessing a contingent fee attorney on both sides. DH is filing so they'll likely be bearing the major cost of their lawyer finding expert witnesses .
DH have no attorney. They're representing themselves.

Thing is, they aren't suing over his criticisms about their games, since the right of a critic to say whatever they want was basically established in Cherry v Des Moines Leader. They're suing about an article he wrote where he exposed some of their underhanded business practices. It's more of a journalism thing than a criticism thing.

In this re-enactment, who is Daedalus, and who is the woman that gets cursed to fuck a bull and give birth to the Minotaur? (and by extension, who is King Minos?)

Daedalus: the guys who made the Unity assets. King Minos: Value. the woman: value customers.

honestly until now I didn't actually know the Minotaur myth and the Icarus myth were in the same story.

This will end quickly, then. You know what they say about people who represent themselves in court. Given their antics thus far, I'm tempted to suggest they may be bordering on mentally unfit, as well.

So what was the white bull and who is Poseidon? This comparison you've made raises a startling number of questions.
So the people who made the unity assets were commissioned by the customers to make a fake wooden cow they could hide in so the bull would impregnate them, and all because Value wouldn't sacrifice the bull? Does the bull represent Quality Control (or lack thereof)?

Given DigiHom's previous insistence the law is what they think it should be, and not what it actually is, I don't see them getting too far. Although their complaint was apparently not-too-shabby by Pro Se standards.

King Value refused to sacrifice the time cow required to make a better game. Jim Poseiden gave them flack for it. They went right along and had their customer wives fuck the bull so they'd give birth to the minotaur game.

Now it turns out King Value also fancies himself a good inventor and tried to build his wax wings of lawsuit. Unfortunately (or fortunately rather) sun judge is probably going to send him plummeting.

The latest update on PacerMonitor indicates that the Judge has just personally approved Jim's request for extra time to file his answer, and it looks like DH attempted to have that motion denied. I have no idea what else "IT IS FURTHER ORDERED denying Defendant's Motion for Extension of Time to File Answer (Doc.6 ) as moot. Signed by Judge John J Tuchi on 4/5/16" could mean. Unless Jim had two Extension requests (the approved one is 'Doc 7').

In keeping with the original story, Jim would have cursed customers to fall deeply in love with the time bull, and then the king just hires the inventor Daedalus (who I guess would be the guys who made Unity?) to build a device that can allow that relationship to consumnate. Then when the customers get knocked up, Daedalus builds a labryinth to house the terrible monstrosity (The Unity Asset Store), and nearby Crete (Steam) has to sacrifice youths (Space in the Steam Store) every so often to appease the monstrosity. Then for reasons I forget, Daedalus and his son Icarus (terrible hack devs that just do asset flips) are imprisoned in a tower and we know how the rest goes.

Right, and every day that passes means they're even more invested in their current positions, and less likely to suddenly abandon them along with their perception of themselves as people and professionals.

On the bright side, this will likely destroy them as a company and make them the laughingstock of the internet and likely a percentage of the planet.

So there's that.

They have some relative who is a lawyer and I suspect he is helping them behind the scenes at some level.

Then why the Kickstarter to fund it? Says a lot that the relative would advise them but not to the extent that they would do the case pro-bono.

Where'd you hear that? That would explain why their complaint isn't a complete word salad, although any lawyer worth their salt would have condensed it down much more. Doesn't seem like this lawyer is "chomping at the bit" to sue Jim the way that DigiHom initially claimed.
