You, sir, gain serious street cred for showing love to Tomba and Medievil.

Seriously, we need Tomba.

i love how all someone needs to do is name-drop an undersuccessful cult-favorite on this site to become instantly beloved and get away with saying ANYTHING.

watch this:
"GEE WILLIKERS! I sure do love me some of that Psychonauts! It sure was a GREAT game that no one played! Gee wiz that game deserved better!"

(i really do think it was good, but i think it may be just some sort of thing where people only love it because the average Cash-In of Duty nut hasn't heard of it)
Eh it was a good episode anyway and I have never heard another video producer on the escapist mention it. PS1 classics seem to go a miss with a lot of people and to finally have one who even acknowledges the ps1 is a plus for me

Anyway Psychonauts is not that small a game if everyone and their dog says to play it, maybe because it wasn't a financial success. However everyone recommends Psychonauts and I think people over look the ps1 era of games

He toned down the male genitalia, decided to swear less, and the show actually got worse IMO.

Point is Jim is parading as some sort of internet personality, when he actually has no personality to speak of whatsoever.

FYI I don't think any of those three things are going to make anyone care any less about the violation to their personal privacy. Albeit from me to say that less frakking system updates would be the right thing to do regardless of whether or not you spent the better part of the past few weeks being a deceptive, stonewalling, finger pointing multi-billion dollar company.

Another beef is that not only am I expected to give this show one final chance at not being a flaming pile of excrement, but I had to watch an ad to do so??? Yeah, I'll skip this from now on. I'm sorry Jimmy boy but you don't possess the chops to make me watch your show even though I hate it ALA Howard Stern.

Okay,..wait one second. So we (The escapees) are too high brow for this show, BUT a show dedicated to the sole purpose of dropping a single item a day in slow motion is "tasteful"? We are one heck of a fickle bunch.
Daily drop is interesting man. I don't understand the correlation you are trying to make. That's like saying there is a debate as to whether particle physics is "tasteful" or otherwise...

I love it when the crowbar is ready.

though i would love to see medievil, if sony wants to make me REALLY happy make a dlc that allows me to play ps2 game on the ps3.... like many others i don't have the one that has backwards computability and due to circumstances out of my control i no longer have a ps2 but still have all my games.

You people are giving the sexist sod ANOTHER chance? *sigh*
Honestly I'm not sure what to make of the situation. He wasn't pulling his misogynist "satire" bullshit (only one thing that could be interpreted as a rape joke, no MS Paint genitalia, no exploitative cover pic, hasn't called the Escapist's readers 'cunts' on his twitter in the last couple hours), instead it was mostly harmless nostalgia.

So I think it could go one of two ways: it stays boring and mostly inoffensive, possibly being cancelled as a result (fingers crossed); or he is just taking a breather episode from his regular trolling and he will eventually do something horrible. I kinda hope it is the former, inasmuch as it makes him a less shit person, but if he does decide to go back to the old ways, then no, he is done for.

Basically: While I can't stand him when he spouts sexist crap, I don't know how I feel about Sterling being here on principle (in light of what he has done in the past &c.) if he doesn't.

I see your point and you conveyed it very well with that post. Nice.

But there is no such confusion in my eyes; he is a sexist pig with a sense of humor that of a horny seventh grader. I don't want him here at all. His stench drags the site down -- like living next door to a sewage processing plant.

Epiphany, guys.

Jim is kinda like Steven Colbert. If you don't understand that his douchebag, self-centered behavior is just an act, in the same way that Colbert's all-knowing yet idiotic comedy is just an act, than you're going to get all tight in the underpants about it. If, however, you recognize the act for what it is, than it becomes more enjoyable.

Still, his sense of humor is still a little too...rough for my tastes.
Okay wow. Um, I can't believe you drew that comparision for like a zillion reasons but I'll keep it to one and make it simple okay? Stephen Colbert is not just funny but even in his most aggregious rants he still seems almost annoyingly likeable. I can not believe you compared those two.....seriously.
Oh come on, what's the big difference? It's the same principle - take a character type people can't understand, then exacerbate it and blur the line between the character and the actor, then put him in a situation where the spotlight shines brightest on his faults. Jim's character's main flaws are his pride and his penchant for swearing (thus he has a web show superficially about how he can fix the problems of the gaming world), whilst Colbert is merely ignorant (a quality that his job as a news reporter shows us).

Understand, though, I still don't like the character. I understand how he's setting up his humor, and that knowledge is keeping me from driving to his house and punching him in the face, that's all.

I'm still not really impressed with the series so far...

The suit certainly doesn't work, it really makes him look like a fat, pompous git.
Also a little more humility would certainly work, the attitude really helps with making him look like a fat, pompous git.

So no, still not a fan.

This one was actually reasonably good; whereas the others were painful to listen to. :p If you can keep this up, Jim, then you're doing well.

I rather like that they're offering Identity Protection or are at least working towards it. Thats... really impressive.

Though I dont know good a Medievil Three would be good after all this time and that complete 180 the studio took in their game developments.
Identity protection? A hallucinogenic buzz word created by the Sony moneybags committee to try and flame shield their major FAIL?

OT: Great episode, thank you Jim.

Bad pun time!

The description may have brought a feeling that Jim was being rascist to some, but to me it brought only myrrh-th. Oh, that was far worse than I expected. Great episode though.
