I thought I had grown tired of obscene expressions as humor long ago. Then I heard "f*ck-puppetry" :D

The odd thing is I've heard the single play DLC for Duke Nukem Forever is actually not that bad... appears to have been developed RECENTLY.

Now then, is anyone else interested to know why Knights Contract is so bad? Probably a Destructoid review of his out there.

No Dragon Age 2? Lame.
Did you see the other games on this list? Dragon age two was actually pretty well made it just wasn't as good as the previous title was. These games were generally failures in both design or in sales. Or both.

The one big thing I like about this list is that the games on it aren't bad only by their own merit. In many of those cases their bad with the lack of care shown and cash-in appearance.

I'll admit that I haven't played DNF, mostly out of a lack of interest, but I have seen some of the Lets Plays. It doesn't look terrible game-play -just pretty bland- but it is pretty...well offensive, not just in the jokingly way. It's also had a decade's work put into it, granted it was passed from developer to developer, but ten years should be enough to get it right.

A game like Dragon Age 2 is a little poor in comparsion to other titles by Bioware, also it does seem like a cash-in. But it's safe to assume that it's had 1-2 years work put into it. Unlike many games here it's mostly funcational, so of course it didn't make it for simply being a disppointment.

Hey, aside from the horribad-Batman he was, Val Kilmer is awesome.

Here's a list of great movies with Val Kilmer in no order in particular:

HEAT
Felon (hell you don't even know its Val Kilmer til you see him in the credits, which in that movie reminds me of Gary Oldman, an actor who you don't always recognize in a movie because he's just that awesome)

True Romance

Willow (Madmartigan anyone?)

Real Genius (best Val Kilmer Movie EVAR)

Top Gun (ok, I'm a Top Gun fan, fuck you all if you flame me for it)

Prince of Egypt (he was fucking MOSES)

Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call - New Orleans (yes it was a Nick Cage movie, but despite people's hate for Nick Cage, I love him, and this movie was great as was Val Kilmer)

and finally....

Tombstone (BEST Doc Holliday EVER)

Now... Jim, I love your show, I love your ideas... but please don't use actors being voice actors in a videogame as a reason the game is shit unless you can honestly back that statement up with good reason).
You forgot Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Great movie, and Val really made it as good as it was.

Its still popular to hate Dragonage 2. It will probably die over sometime next year, once people relaize. That mediocre does not bad make. It makes mediocre.

Must be tough being a games journalist, having to play games like those, even if you don't want to.

I haven't played 6 of the games on your list and frankly I count my self lucky in that regard.
I haven't played any of them because I research games beforehand.

Interesting list, i liked most of the reviews.

I will say that I almost stopped watching this video after the first minute; I realize the whole "look at me, I'm so awesome" thing is a running gag at this point, but it was just annoying in the first part of this video. The whole minute-long "I am Jesus Christ" rant was basically less funny then the "jokes" Duke Nukem.

That being said, I'm glad I watched the rest of the video, because the actual reviews were good. Just tone down the unfunny arrogance and I'll probably watch more of your videos.

DNF - worst game of 2011?

But it has boobs! How can anything that has boobs be bad?

*MDC runs off to buy the next glittery thing they've advertised to his pathetic peer-pressure-led little brain...*

Kudos to Sterling for tearing into DNF for being the trite, misogynist piece of regurgitated garbage utterly void of redeeming features that it is.

His defense of Rapelay remains flimsy and unsatisfactory, however.

It seems like I'm in the minority for this, but, I hated and despised Duke Nukem Forever. I wanted to raise a baby with it, let it fall in love with the baby, then murder it and feed it to Duke in a pie, like in Titus Andronicus. That game deserves nothing but hatred, derision and a steel toe capped boot right between the thighs.

I play some games that I know are going to be terrible just so I can get a better big picture of the year.
I pretty much knew I wasn't going to find anything worse than Gears 3 or MW3 this year but it means less if I hadn't played Mindjack or Call of Juarez or X-men Destiny.

So I didn't get tricked into playing them. Except DNF, I wanted DNF to be good, but it just wasn't!

Some of those games are not "bad", just "decent" or "disappointing". I would gladly say Mindjack was a worse game than Bloodrayne or even Duke Nukem Forever.

Or, shock of shocks, Jim's GOTY, Skyrim, barely even WORKS on my PS3... so a game that doesn't even play, for me, is technically a worse game than Duke Nukem Forever because DNF at least WORKED all the way through (even if it was offensive and stupid as it did so.)

I agree 100% on the Spiderman game. I don't know why this is so hard for developers to understand, all players want from a Spiderman game is to web-swing around a city. If you have a good melee combat system that's a bonus, but seriously, what's with Spiderman games not even acknowledging the swinging aspect? Are they afraid of success or something?

That bloodrayne game LOOKED good. That lucha game with no online, what were they thinking? I guess they knew if they made it it would have sucked.
I'll admit, I bought Bloodrayne because the art-style is just GORGEOUS, and really appealed to me. its wonderful to watch the heroine in motion, the animation is just beautiful.

but the way it controls... Ouch Ouch Ouch Ouch Ouch. Unfair does not begin to describe it.

Ha! I laughed so hard when Duke Nukem Forever showed up as first place. Its just sooooooo bad. You know exactly what I mean if you've played it. Shame it had to be so bad. Keep up the good work Jim and Happy Holidays!
