Musician for a major label until I realized I would probably be forced to change my entire sound, and generally be a sell-out. I still plan to be a musician, I just don't much care about being signed to anything more than an independent label.

Yeah, why sign at all? Major labels take some odd 90% of what your albums sell, if you're lucky. They also can decide not to release a finished album, so you have no way of paying off the advance they gave you. Even with small labels, there's little point in joining. More and more bands are going the pure indie route, and it works better.

OT, I started in Computer Science, realized I hated it, switched to Music Technology, realized that the school I go to's program SUCKED and that I wasn't any good with music theory (despite getting A's on all composition projects, I couldn't explain stuff) and aural skills (the most impossible class ever). I had planned to get into advertising, so I'm switching to Marketing, possible English minor, while writing on the side, mostly for fun, but hopefully for profit.

Its easier starting out if you can get signed to an independent label. Eventually, me and my band want to start our own label.

Writing Your Titles Like This Makes Me Think Of Cracked.com Articles

But anyway
Every job I've ever wanted in my life, up to and including my current aspiration, classicist (although I reckon I CAN do that one. fingers crossed.)

Yes I am still interested why do you ask?
I wanted to be a vet... and I am, almost. 1 year left, thank god we Brits can do it as an undergrad degree.

Seriously? Fuck that would be nice.

How are you enjoying the schooling?

Veterinarian. I always wanted to be one since I was little, but I don't think I can actually do it.
Are you good with the maths and sciences? Are you willing to do hard schooling for 8+ years? Do you have the courage to put an animal mercifully towards its death?

If you answered yes to those then yes you can, otherwise I don't know.

I always thought I'd be an actor, but then I got bored of it. Then I wanted to be in the videogame industry, preferably the story side, but all the companies I'd want to work for do all the creative work in the US or elsewhere and only bits of the admin are handled in the UK. Near my house there's offices for Capcom, Sega and Konami, all admin/desk jobs, no creative. I also don't have the computer skills needed. Now I want to be a writer and to fund it, go into publishing, it's fun when I get the work so I'm sticking with it.

I wanted to be a paleontologist but was screwed over by my school when I was a teenager that basically made me hate education.

It was that or teacher but failed on that for the same reason.

Ignoring the financial part of the schooling, yeah, I can do all that. But there's just other things involved that make me think I just can't.

Well as important as that part is (like 80% of it) I'm curious as to why you think you can't.

I wanted to be an author before I realized I wouldn't really make enough to support a family and that my writing was cliche garbage.

Then I realized I could still sell books like that, but I would feel bad for taking people's money.

I used to want to be an author, then I realized I can't write to save my life. Then it was a historian, but I re-realized the last thing. So right now, I'm hankering for some science. Wish I had figured out may atrocious lack of skill a bit earlier, though.
