I've been jogging more or less every day for about a month, to get fit for boxing (three three minute rounds doesn't sound like much, bit it's ridiculously hard not to get knackered when you're getting punched and wearing a mouth guard). I've been doing it for years, but only now have I started with such frequency. I run in fields and slight hills, near my house. On a good day, it's great and feels really good, but it can be hell - especially with a bad stitch.

I do a bit less than 3 miles and it take me about 20 minutes, I might start doing longer distances.

What about you? If you don't jog (and I'm sure many of you don't), what do you do to stay in shape, and if you don't bother at all, then why not?

I normally walk, but occasionally I jog. It's healthy and it helps me think.

I'm starting to ride my bike as often as I can to and from class/stores/etc. I would love to be in better shape and am thinking about taking a spinning class sometime soon.

Yeah, I jog. I live in a fairly rural area, so (aside from tripping over things in the dark) it's quite a nice experience. I couldn't say how far I go, or how long I'm out - I just put on my iPod and come back when I get bored.

I used to jog prior to joining a gym. For Cardio I play Squash and usually use a machine called the 'Cross Trainer'. I occasionally use a running machine, but don't tend to jog, I do interval training: One minute sprint, one minute jog and so on.

I do weights more than cardio though.

I used to be much better last year though, this year I have not had enough motivation to do it as much as I probably should.

Bicycle machine class, pedalling in time to the music, but always making sure you are pedalling as hard as you can. When the music is slower you up the resistance, when it's faster you lower it.

I hate jogging, and I always laugh when I see joggers jogging past in short shorts and sweating buckets. I just take walks.

I always jog from my college to my house (about three miles) every other day. Keeps me nice and fit and helps with my endurance. I can usually run it in half an hour.

I rarely exercise for real anymore. I used to lift weights, then got tired of it. I used to walk for an hour around campus for a while, but figured I didn't want to anymore (especially during winter or late spring/early summer). I do pull-ups every once in a while. I take an hour long/2 hour walk once a week or so. No matter what I do though, I can't gain or lose weight. I've consistently clocked in at 130 pounds since high school. It seems I can't gain/lose muscle mass or fat no matter how active/lazy I am.

Does jogging in place count. Is there any benefit to this? How else can I jog and watch TV without buying a treadmill?

Spinning is basically getting on a bike machine and just riding for an extended period of time. Every once in a while you might turn up the resistance. They offer classes here and I'm really considering taking one.

Nope, I don't jog. It's boring.

The only type of exercise I can stand is... unicycling! I haven't used my unicycle yet this year though, since the roads are so gravelly and I might fall on my ass.

I've stopped jogging in the past few months. That's because joggers are always the ones to find "the body".
