Funnily enough that's the same advice I give to people about a job in retail.Worgen said:Im assuming its not that different from the army over here so Ill just give you this piece of wisdom that was given to me by my friend whos friend joined the military "dont join the military unless you feel like being angry all the time"
at least in retail you get to go home at the end of the dayfletch_talon said:Funnily enough that's the same advice I give to people about a job in retail.Worgen said:Im assuming its not that different from the army over here so Ill just give you this piece of wisdom that was given to me by my friend whos friend joined the military "dont join the military unless you feel like being angry all the time"
Yeah but you can't talk back at the people who get up in your face or insult you, let alone shoot them.Worgen said:at least in retail you get to go home at the end of the dayfletch_talon said:Funnily enough that's the same advice I give to people about a job in retail.Worgen said:Im assuming its not that different from the army over here so Ill just give you this piece of wisdom that was given to me by my friend whos friend joined the military "dont join the military unless you feel like being angry all the time"
I did for a while. Bit I was sitting in the mess hall one day and I realized how fed up I was getting.Explosm said:Discussional value: Would you ever join the defence force?
I'd never join any Military. Useless in this day and age frankly, the only wars that will be fought from now on will be via computer and using bank notes, not bullets.Explosm said:Hello escapists.
Last night in the middle of the night i decided i was going to dedicate my life to joining the Army.
At the age of 17 out of school and i dont have a job, My mum is basically kicking me out the door unless i can get a job, so heres what im going to do.
Every morning go for a run. I have made a course out of my neighbourhood wich is roughly 2.5k's (like a mile and a half i think).
And 100 push ups and sit ups later on in the day.
Also im gonna try gather some mates to do paintball, ive been once and i totally want to do it again.
(Im not un-fit but i could use some exercise)
At the end of 2010. Im going to try and sign up for the Australian Army.

There's lots of jobs in the military that aren't all knocking down doors and killing people.TGBA said:ive never been in the army
i don't wanna sound like a dick, but...are you sure you have what it takes to kill someone?
cant really do that in the military either, you have to say "yes sir" and do what ever it is they wantfletch_talon said:Yeah but you can't talk back at the people who get up in your face or insult you, let alone shoot them.Worgen said:at least in retail you get to go home at the end of the dayfletch_talon said:Funnily enough that's the same advice I give to people about a job in retail.Worgen said:Im assuming its not that different from the army over here so Ill just give you this piece of wisdom that was given to me by my friend whos friend joined the military "dont join the military unless you feel like being angry all the time"
Oh how I'd love to shoot some of them >_>
Actually, that goes for retail as well. IT'S THE SAME PROFESSION!!1Worgen said:cant really do that in the military either, you have to say "yes sir" and do what ever it is they wantfletch_talon said:Yeah but you can't talk back at the people who get up in your face or insult you, let alone shoot them.Worgen said:at least in retail you get to go home at the end of the dayfletch_talon said:Funnily enough that's the same advice I give to people about a job in retail.Worgen said:Im assuming its not that different from the army over here so Ill just give you this piece of wisdom that was given to me by my friend whos friend joined the military "dont join the military unless you feel like being angry all the time"

*just making sure you realise that from the beginning this has been exaggerated in jest, I'm not actually suggesting the military is comparable in frustration to retail*Worgen said:cant really do that in the military either, you have to say "yes sir" and do what ever it is they wantfletch_talon said:Yeah but you can't talk back at the people who get up in your face or insult you, let alone shoot them.Worgen said:at least in retail you get to go home at the end of the dayfletch_talon said:Funnily enough that's the same advice I give to people about a job in retail.Worgen said:Im assuming its not that different from the army over here so Ill just give you this piece of wisdom that was given to me by my friend whos friend joined the military "dont join the military unless you feel like being angry all the time"

It's good to see that you're exercising in anticipation of the physical training, but be aware that it will still be incredibly hard work.Explosm said:Hello escapists.
