He's clearly giving off the appearance that he's taking the moral high road in this issue. It's what most people in a prominant position do when they are found to be incorrect or on the losing side or ridiculed for their shortcomings. These people are calling him out for not doing his job correctly, you know.... journalism. As in reporting to the masses events that are correct and the end result of careful research.

He's just embarassed that he didn't do his job correctly, and got caught for being a shitty reporter. He most likely already has a biased toward videogames seeing as how he saw a photoshopped picture and drew his own conclusions then jumped all over said conclusions and then spilled it out to the masses as fact. He also clearly doesn't understand how the internet works either, anything you see online should not be taken as fact until proven so.

In a nut shell.... fuck him, he's a biased douche nozzel that doesn't even have the descency to admit his mistakes when being called out on them, and also obviously has an issue with gamers and gaming itself. Oh yeah.... he's also bad at his job.
