I honestly want to see an apology from him, not just because of the insult to the games industry and gamers, but for the insult to the memories and families of those who were killed by Raoul Moat, using their grief and pain to draw attention to the Daily Star and to Mr. Lawton. Well . . . I wanted an apology yesterday, now I just want this guy fired and/or sued by Rockstar. You shouldn't just be able to make up news and then complain because people would actually prefer it if you didn't.

Since when do we spend -all- of our time on games, and come out -just- to complain about him? Gaming is a hobby. It is as valid as any other hobby. Like most hobbies, we do it in our SPARE TIME, and only that spare time we don't spend socially. We might -like- to spend whole days gaming, on occasion, but at least we have fun. Something you appear to be lacking . So while it might be nice to believe that we're a sub-human race as gamers, Jerry, please, think before you speak.

The daily star? Thast even more a of piece of crap than the Sun, nothing they publish is news worthy. Seriosuly, its audience consists of people who find the Sun to hard to understand.

For me, and I'd hope the majority of the Escapist, it's not even about lying about games, it's about using the grief of a family member purely to get a juicy quote to pad out some tawdry fiction, especially when the readership really would have just preferred some tits on the page instead.

It's just a shame the Press Complaints Commission has no real power, if I had my way, the bare minimum for printed errors would be a correction and apology of the same size and on the same page as the original article. Outright lies and twisted half truth would need an apology printed on at least 20% of the FRONT page along with the above inner corrections.

On top of all that, the amount of space used will also be given for free ad space to a charity.

Given that, I think they'd be more careful.
