Tad shouted while spraying the abominations with bullets from his Thompson
"They don't seem to stop coming!"

Will took two photos, then unloaded the rest of his clip into the mass of monsters

"Hey, can we move the walls? Maybe we can block them off!"

"Damn, outa ammo!" Kieron approched heseitantly with his pocket knife and stood next to garion. "I'll watch your back if you watch mine!" he yelled as he drew the knife out of this createn's arm. "Hazel! Find out how these walls work!"

Mick checks his bag.
Mick"Hey, i got a few grenades and some dynamite if that will help blow the wall..."

 

[Whiskyjakk]

"It doesn't work like that!" shouted Hazel at Mason as she inexpertly fired off the last of her bullets in the direction of the scaled attackers. "Mick's probably got the right idea. Use explosives! Just try not to cause a cave in".

She pulled her knife from its bag and ducked behind the men who were still firing.

"I'm out!"
Then Tad took out his knife and started backing away from the monsters.

"There are too many of them!" Yelled Johnny. "Throw a grenade and retreat, we might be able to find a more defensible position further down the tunnel!" Johnny had run out of ammo for his Tommy gun and was shooting down monsters with his pistol. There were more monsters than bullets in his gun though.

"If we're blowing these walls, lets do it fast. We are in a wee spot of trouble."
Mason got hit with a blunt appendage. He wasn't surre if it was an arm or a tentacle or... He didn't want to know

Garion was still busy cutting down the monsters and trying not to get killed himself.

"Throw the Grenade."

Aran pulled out his magnum and started shooting at basically anything that moved.

"Alright. So, why are we here again?" he asked as he shot a monster in the face.

 

[Whiskyjakk]

"Good question" said Hazel as she slashed at a scaled head. The intruder started back with a hiss but two more monstrous faces took its place.

"I guess we're the only ones stupid enough to delve into a situation like this headfirst without, I dunno, leaving a guard at the door or something. Not that I'm blaming anyone." She threw a wry, desperate smile in Grey's direction but he was facing the wrong way as he fired point blank into the enemy hordes.

Mick"Ok, cover me ill plant them a little further on."

Garion instantly rushes at the monsters slashing low the ones fast enough to avoid his blows fell over the ones behind them. The he hit had their feet cut out from under them. All the While Garion Stayed close to Mick slowly beating them back.

The explosive went off, knocking rocks down from the ceiling and giving the group time to escape with no injuries. The team ran into a larger chamber with what looked to be a cave off to the side. There was a light in the cave and Johnny yelled for the team to make for the entrance. The monsters kept coming though. All of a sudden a man stepped out of the cave and screamed something in an unfamiliar language. The monsters fled into the darkness screeching. "That sounds like proto-Incan" Johnny said. With his language skills, Johnny was able to semi-understand the man and went over to the group to relay what he had said.

"This guy says his name is Arkul that he used to be the King of this island, thousands of years ago. Unfortunately for him, a water demon named Harzag cursed the island and trapped him in this cavern with the power from an ancient tablet. Arkul says that his magic can keep away the monsters, but that he has never been able to get to the tablet. He told me that if we break the tablet, we can beat the demon and escape. I don't know if this guy is crazy or not, but he says that there is no other way out." Johnny paused.

"He says that we can rest here tonight, and in the morning we can decide whether or not to help him or not. I recommend it though, it might be the only way for us to escape from here."

"Lets help the old kook. He ain't gonna do us no wrong."

Garion was breathing Heavily as he sat down and pulled out his guns. THe took out both clips and replaced them. Then refilled the empty clips.

"Anyone need 9mm bullets?"

Mick has a look of distrust at this new man, he doesnt beleive its real.

mick"ok, so if this is real, any idea were this tablet thing is?"

Mick lay down panting out of breath, he then reloaded his guns

"At the centre of this underground city, I'd guess" said Will, then turned to Hazel again, "Anyway, I was going to ask, do you have any ideas for how to measure this 'magic' by scientific means?"

 

[Whiskyjakk]

OOC - Which bit of the Atlantic are we in by the way? I think I'll be a little more sceptic of an Incan man saying he owns the island if we're up by Greenland or something.

Hazel gladly took some more bullets and reloaded her gun.

"I dunno" she said, "This feels like we're putting a lot of faith into someone we've just met and can barely understand. For all we know he set up the ambush himself to manipulate us. Still I guess we don't have many options, maybe we can look for a way out on the way to this tablet."

She turned to Will again, "Thanks for the offer but it isn't a very scientific procedure. All you need is something for carving and a working knowledge of symbols. That enables you to detect the recent occurance of paranormal events. I use my knife as a general indicator. These symbols I've scratched into the handle mean it tends to glow orange when anything seriously metaphysical is going on."

Will nodded, "Next time it does, I'll give it a look, and see if it's doing anything explainable"
