Marcus confidently stepped forward, clapping a hand on Drew's shoulder. He seemed to be in quite the good mood.
"Damn fine works you two did. I am very happy to see it wasn't a pyromancer as usual. Sometimes I wonder if we spend too much time on our combat, but you show that we don't! You both did some fantastic work, and deserve the reward that you would like, especially since you and the few other combatants stuck with it even though it was just exercise!" Marcus said, a huge grin on him.

"So what would interest you two? I'll put in a word and see to it that something happens in your favor! Out with it now, before you pass out!" Marcus said, noting Fei's extremely tired reactions.

As the Prime Minister and guards approached the Masters, it seemed that there was an odd tension flowing there. It wasn't quite violent, but it seemed that something was very much amiss on both sides. For a moment, each side just stood, not moving, not saying anything, and the silence seemed to echo through the crowd around them, no one saying a word. It was then that Niklas stepped forward, the Earth Master showing no fear or hesitation in his step.

"Welcome to the Academy. We would be lying if we said we were expecting you so soon. I trust you have something in place for your people so that we do not have problems with them, I imagine." Niklas said, his rumbling voice not even affected by the gravity of the situation.

"Greetings, Earthshaper. Apologies for the unexpected arrival, as we were planning a few extra days. However, circumstances demanded I speed up the time I was going to spend here. The others have been informed to stay in sight of each other at all times so as to not cause problems. If it is found they divulged anything, you understand there will have to be consequences for the party involved." The Prime Minister said.

"If you will follow us, we have much to discuss with you. And it would be better to occur away from the many students, who have studies, and cleaning up to do. As well as preparations if need be." Niklas said, and just like that, the small group of guards and Masters made their way to the Grand Hall, with the small group of lower looking people still around the ship chatting. Some of the crowd began to disperse, some believing they would never get a chance to see the visitors today, others hoping to follow to the Grand Hall.

"Hang on a minute..." he said to Marcus. He turned to Fei."You feeling bad? This burn isn't that bad compared to other burns I've gotten. Plus, we can always head to a healing station later."

The group walked out of the place, heading to the airships. As they walked, he turned to Marcus. "Ok... I don't really know what I want. Damn near anything I can think of is out of your hands. Perhaps a single room for my sister? Closer to where I'm staying? I don't know. Give me some time to think about it."

He noticed the crowd ahead of them. "Well seems we've arrived at the right place."

"Oh wooow Drew look..." she pointed at the giant airship, tugging on her brother's sleeve. "Is that another airship?? Does it spit fire and create tornadoes?!?" Besides the sighting a few days ago, Fei only heard about the ships in stories. She knew her brother spent some time researching the strange weapons that some of them had, but she had never seen one in real life. She watched the spectacle silently, eyes glued to the foreigners. When they finally left, she noticed one of the Master Pyromancers talking to her brother.

"So what would interest you two? I'll put in a word and see to it that something happens in your favor! Out with it now, before you pass out!"

I want to find out how to be an Adept! Was what she wanted to say, but her confidence had left the moment the Pyro approached. "Uh... Drew?" she looked at her brother, hoping he had something to say.

Raven observed the conversation between Seth and one of the head Pyros. Hmmmm, I guess I should go with him if that's an option. See what happened in there, get some info the Pyros might not want leaked out. Can finally hold that over some of the other Nightshades too. Like that damn stuck up Elise.

She wasn't ready to be practically invited along on this, but still this would make things easier. "Yeah, sure," she said quietly. "I was growing weary of the battles anyway." She once again followed Seth towards the library.

Deciding that there would probably be no more greater an opportunity than this to talk to these visitors Cale swallowed a lump in his throat. "Alright... I'll go up and talk to them but only if..." Cale thought for a second then finally an idea came up. "Only if you come with me. What do you say, Nydia? You and I talk to these exotic travelers and if we can't understand them then oh well..." Cale said.

Seeing the mages not only talk to the visitors but the visitors answering back was sereal.
There were quite a few armed but there were the "normal" ones too.
Seeing the EarthMaster talk to them with no delay gave him a little inspiration.
Way to set an example for us, I should do the same. Its not like they bite.. at least I hope they don't with mechanical jaws
Scoping out attentively he saw one with alot of mechanical work, the metal polished to perfection.
Looking closer it was a man that wasn't as old as the others, seemed as nervous as the other students.
Pushing and shoving he got up to him and then forgot what he was going to say.
now what?
"Hay um.. whats up?"
wow that sounds like a terrible airship pun he thought feeling like slapping himself

"Well, of course I'll come with! This is quite the opportunity after all." Nydia said as she surveyed the crowd. "Well, those ones seem to be rather important and are heading off with one of the masters. Probably best to leave them to their business. Those ones seem rather chatty though! Let's go, Cale!" Nydia began making her way through the crowd as politely as she could, which was made easier by the crowd thinning out a bit.

After finding the first guest she saw that wasn't already in a conversation, Nydia approached the person and gave her usual polite smile and bow. "Excuse me, I am Nydia Freecs, Lightdweller adept and this is Cale Jioni, Earthshaper mage. It is truly a pleasure to have you here. Might we have the privelage of knowing your name?"

Marcus laughed as Drew was apparently completely flustered from his commitment to let him know that he was going to reward him, and apparently didn't realize who he was talking to.

"Boy, I can likely manage to get you whatever you want. So unless you want something that is out of everyone's reach, you and your sister should think it through. I can understand you not knowing, but don't take too long, as I get the feeling our guests here are going to keep me quite busy over the next few days." Marcus said with a laugh. Noting that the other Masters had left with the more important guests, Marcus began to head towards the Grand Halls as well, knowing that his presence would likely be needed at these particular meetings.

As Seth made his way to the library, he looked at his 'ghost'. She was trying a bit too hard to keep up the cloak of the Nightshades, it seemed. And why Marcus had let her simply tag along he wasn't sure either. Not that it mattered though, as she was coming along and probably had nothing to do anyways.

"So.....Raven, not going to run off to see the guests? I mean, you being a Nightshade and all that would probably want all sorts of information from them." Seth said, just trying to be conversational with the odd girl.

Yeah, now that I think about it, she has been trying way too hard to keep up with other Nightshades. Dark and quiet and all that other stuff. She needs to learn to relax or something.

The man looked over at Edward, his polished arms turning in response to look at another person asking him questions. He man overall looked a little overwhelmed, and it didn't appear to change when he looked Edward over.

"Er.....The sky?" The man answered, quite confused at the phrase Edward had used. Raising his other arm which was mostly human until it got to the mechanical hand, he scratched his head, obviously confused.

______________________________________________________________________________________________

The man Nydia had greeted gave a bow in return, obviously used to the behavior or greeting. Rising from his stance, it was noted that part of his face was indeed mechanical parts, more specifically around his eye. Otherwise, the man actually seemed quite normal from every other direction.

"Greetings, Nydia Freecs, and Cal Joini. I am known as Michael Dorborrum. A pleasure to meet someone with familiar manners." Michael said with strange flowery accent to his words, glancing about as other people seemed to stare, and if not stare step away, or get closer and start talking.

The crowd had obviously gotten over it's initial shock, and had begun to approach the small group of people in waves, or attempted to follow the Masters group to see what was ultimately going on over there. It was the largest gathering of all mages that had been seen other than when in meetings, and after those everyone tended to scatter, yet here they remained waiting and trying to get an audience with the few different people from the isolated land.

"If you know a Nightshade would be looking to get info off the visitors, you should know that getting the same info as every other Nightshade is a waste of time," Raven pointed out as she followed Seth. "Value in info comes from being the only one with it. So, depending on what has happened to set the Library alight, I may do a lot better than if I just followed the rest of the sheep to the mysterious travelers."

Plus I don't need to be around all those people anyway. Damn crowds, who needs them.

Nydia was pleased to see that the visitor shared her mannerisms, making it easier for them to find common ground. She was off to a good start as far as she could tell. "I concur, Michael. Even among my peers, my speech is somewhat unique. To meet someone so similar among our guests is a pleasant surprise. I imagine you've had a long journey. If I may ask, what made you decide to come here?" Nydia asked, wondering if he had come for reasons similar to her own for wanting to go to Kerbones.

Drew sighed. "Well, it's nice to have a favor from someone like him, at least. I could pick a worse situation to be in, that's for sure..." He turned to Fei. "So, what's on your mind?"

Cale's hands trembled inside his pockets trying to find the right words to say to the visitor. Cale was glad that he had brought Nydia to do most of the talking because otherwise Cale would be spouting nonsense just trying to talk to him. Cale leaned a bit back distancing himself a bit as Nydia did the talking so he could form a plan to talk to the visitor.

Seth couldn't help but chuckle at Raven's answer. She wasn't pure Nightshade, but it seemed like she knew the rules well enough to say something. Which was pretty good, he guessed.

"Fair enough, but I wonder how true that would be if Master Marcus would simply let you come along for the ride. Think that was your reward that you got to be in on something that no one else will be in on? I think that sounds about right. Marcus can be clever like that." Seth said, stepping into the library to see some lightly scorched books and the broken window.

"Huh....guess we can see something happened here."

Michael gave a small respectful nod, appearing somewhat more used to talking with Nadia than the many other students now seeing if they could begin to ask questions themselves.

"The journey was not as long as you think it was. Though, I imagine you haven't been on an airship before. Regardless, I am here because I was asked to be on short notice, and figured it a golden opportunity to leave the city and see what is going on in the world, a magicians academy no less. I wondered if it was perhaps much like our own, but it seems I won't be able to look around for some time." Michael explained, though suddenly his eyes seemed to glance about. "Did you not say you came with another? A Cale Jioni? Forgive my bluntness, but which of these people are them?"

"Ah, the pursuit of knowledge then? An admirable reason for coming here. I find myself interested in traveling to your land for similar reasons. Although I suppose that's getting ahead of myself a bit." Nydia said as she turned to show Michael who Cale was only to realize that he had moved back a bit.

"Ah, that's him. The tall man with the scarf. I apologize, he's a bit nervous it seems. But he was truly excited to have you all here. You should have seen how fast he ran here when he heard your ship had landed." Nydia said with a small laugh.

Cale let out a nervous laugh at Nydia's remark about the speed he took to come here. After a few moments of twiddling his fingers in nervous planning an idea hatched inside his mind. Cale took another step back and felt the earth beneath him. Cale dug his hand into the paved dirt searching then the familiar touch of granite greeted his finger tips. With a deep breath Cale raised the piece of granite next to him. Then he used a technique called "Fast cracking" which basically was a way for an earthshaper to quickly separate pieces of rock from itself by holding on to a certain piece that the earthshaper would like and quickly cracking it from the rest. It was a faster way to shape stone but the results were often lack-luster or unsatisfactory. Cale thought otherwise.

Cale placed himself on the granite canvas. He moved his hands to his sides first and cracked the stone. Then he placed it at the top of his head and below his waist. The falling stone nearly crushed his toes but Cale was too absorbed in his work to care. Then Cale's hands found it's way parallel to the crack piece he had already cracked above and with a quick but forceful tap of his fingers the chunks fell. The result was a 6-pointed star which was atop one of the Academy's tall buildings which was meant to represent all the elements. The granite piece was clumsily made to an earthshaper's trained eye but it was nothing short of stunning. Cale let go and the piece fell into the earthshaper's hands which then was pointed towards Michael as a motion for him to have it.

"Nydia... is right... I am Cale. Here, take this. It's... my gift from me to you. Please take it, this thing is quite heavy..." Cale said as soon as he realized that growing stress of holding the stone star.

Alexander saw Edward taking to one of the others as most of the group left towards the hall. He navigated his way over in time to hear the soldier's reply.

"Hello again Edward. I see you've met with one of the guests." He turned toward the man and decided a small bow would be the best thing to do, since sticking his arm out to shake hands could be seen as an attempt at attacking.

"A pleasure to meet you, I am Alexander. Who are you?"

Drew and Fei stayed near the edge of the crowd, partially because Fei wasn't excited to see any more soldiers. "I don't want to meet any of those people." she said flatly, looking around to make sure the Pyromaster was gone. "Maybe we should get that burn healed... I'm sorry I couldn't heal it properly in the fight, but I want to try again. I just need to get a book on Hydromancer healing and I can see what I was doing wrong."

Drew nodded. "We aren't going to see anything from back here anyway. Might as well take care of this. Lead the way." He was able to ignore the burn for the most part, but there it was still noticeable. "You did a pretty good job on this, all things considered. And you did great back in the fight. We showed them who was boss, didn't we?"

Raven took a look around the basic scene of the library. She picked up a book that had been tossed aside. She couldn't tell what she had picked up, the cover had been blackened to match whatever text was on it. "I assumed that's why you were asked to come here. The question is, what happened? And who did it happen to?"

As she poked around the area, thoughts were going through her head. That Pyro has a point though. If this is the doing of one of those other flamers, why did he let me come? If it was big, wouldn't he cover it up? There's probably going to be nothing to this at all. Great. Wasted time. Figures. Brilliant move again, Jenn.

After a quick stop to order a student to pass the intruder's location up the chain to the Masters, Aden followed Aaron out to the landing zone.

"The design of these craft are certainly impressive. So are these common, or is it only your military that really makes any use of them?" Aden grinned. "Because if it's possible, I'd be very interested in seeing about getting one for myself. It would be interesting to fuse magic and technology and see how much further we could advance."
