"Ah, sorry, I guess I was too deep in thought there for a moment." Silvana apologized to the boy. "I should be able to help you. Someone of light, huh? I know there were two Lightdwellers with us when we came in here, but I don't know exactly where they are right now." She took his hand that he had offered. "This shouldn't take too long."

Closing her eyes for a moment and focusing with her magic, she mumbled to herself "Shadows, reveal to me the location of the person I seek." The incantation wasn't really necessary, but it was a force of habit. Once she'd done that, shadows started swirling on the ground around her and the boy before stopping, lifting up to her eye height and coming together to form an arrow pointing towards the castle the other group was in. She opened her eyes and looked at the arrow, rather happy with her work. "If the person you seek is the one I thought of, then they should be in that direction. I hope I could help."

Raven watched over as Silvana was able to do something to help out her new glowing friend. Or at least it looked like it. A dark arrow pointed the way to some far off direction. If she's trying to get rid of them, I guess that's one way to do it.

"Looks like you called it," she remarked to Seth. "If nothing else, you can handle predicting moves better then you can predicting what you should say. Makes sense from what I've seen." She moved back closer to the Pyro. "And I guess I can find it in the small unblackened portion of my heart to accept your apology, as well as your basic admission that I'm right." Not like I can really talk about being more socially adept, but I'll roll with this.

"I will have to trust you in that regard sir. Until I have seen just where exactly this all leads me I won't quite know what all I would wish to carry. But carry it I will all the same." Alexander said to Edgar, he then looked at the orb, luckily the electricity was creating a bit of light at the front but he still created a bit more himself. He walked in, careful to not have an effect on anything Drew was doing. He wanted to look over the orb and the room itself in great detail.

'Always see if you can't gleam something. So Alexander, any chance you may have some knowledge of this object. Or perhaps just some inclination towards it overall?' He asked his other self, usually he had some pretty good advice for himself. Even if it was nothing more than just, be cautious.

"Have you been able to learn anything more about the orb in the time you've had it?" Alexander asked back out into the room to Edgar.

Seth turned as Fei seemed to know what was going on with Silvana. With a small grin, he turned to say something, only to watch as Silvana seemed to know what she was mostly doing. Going to a small shrug, he couldn't help but smile as it seemed to satisfy the kid.

"Well, then next time we need to do something, it is your turn, OK?" Seth said to Fei, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Course, I would also like to see some of that fancy...rain skills around here. Not any clouds in the sky....Just could use a bit of character, I think."

"And I guess I can find it in the small unblackened portion of my heart to accept your apology, as well as your basic admission that I'm right."

"I guess I should be eternally grateful that you would find it in you to accept the apology. I'll have to find a way to pay you back in the future." Seth replied, making a small move to step closer to the nightshade as well.

General closeness...this is kinda different. I mean, when is the last time I needed to sleep back to back with someone? I...wonder if they have good beds at the castle? Here is to hoping...

"Hey Silvana, nice work....with whatever it is you just pulled off!"

[hr]

The child of light nodded at the dark arrow as it pointed towards the castle in the distance, and turned to look at the somewhat fewer spirits and golems that were now around. It seemed to not worry the child that many of the spirits had vanished, and then let go of Silvana's hands, and gestured to the spirits.

"Many thanks for your assistance, dark one. May your path lead you to the goals that you need, and not just the ones you seek. It seems that the Lord Edgar has somehow claimed what we are here to find, thus we must venture into his city. Hopefully he is...in a pleasant mood." The child said, turning and beginning to walk back towards the city.

The golems and spirits that had come with the child all began to make their way with the child, taking a slow walk which seemed oddly quiet despite their size and nature of the light and dark presence of them. Their sudden departure left the mages, which seemed to be the only ones now at the lakeside for the moment.

As Drew focused a small amount of energy into the ball, there was a low hum. It seemed to echo along the walls for a moment, only for there to suddenly be an grinding noise of stone against stone. Suddenly, lights began to start showing up around the room, each a different color. There was some kind of positioning to each one, as they all pointed towards the ceiling of the room that they were in.

"Hmm...Interesting. I would say that one means one way....that one means 2 way....that one means a 4 way gate, which are always troublesome. I wish this place was better taken care of, as it would have allowed this room to probably be much more...useful." Edgar said, who had apparently gotten a book from somewhere.

"Of course, with THIS kind of information, I think this is going to be a start to a fantastic relationship. Thank you for the great assistance here in getting a few things pulled together. Hopefully that stuff went through more of the building than just this room, or I might have to ask another favor of you." Edgar continued, walking about the room taking note of each spot of the lights now.

Meanwhile, Alexander's shadow looked about the room, seeming to try and take note of the same things Edgar was looking over, and turned and got close to Alexander to speak privately.

"This....creature is something that I'm not sure I can trust at all. He is...odd, and that blood offering I did not appreciate. No idea what he plans at this point, and this...device could do anything. Powers of lightning powering this strange....castle is not my idea of safety. But, I would think that this kind of device is a power....area, if memory serves." Alexander's shadow tried to recount. "It....it can be used through the entire place, I think. It is an odd....thing though. What does a building do with such power, other than turn on lights and adjust stone?"

Edgar laughed as he looked over one particular light in particular, noting its unique light.

"Now THAT made this all worth it. Many thanks for this, my good friends. I think I owe Alexander and Drew something special at this point....A-HEM! THOSE ROOMS BETTER BE DAMNED READY BY THE TIME THEY GET TO THEM! OR SOMETHING IS GOING TO BE VERY WRONG!" Edgar shouted, not at all trying to be sneaky about his intention of shouting.

"Erhrm....Now, with that out of the way, I've been looking into this room enough to know that it gives...indicators as to what kind of things go into this world. I think I have the numbers figured out for the colors. THIS one is important. This one is a choice...I think. I haven't ever been able to get to it, so I could not really verify, but I think this is the most important point in the world. Now, if the map was still painted on these damn walls, it would be USEFUL. Now...with this all out of the way, I imagine you have some other questions? Because at this point, I'm offering you a room, and...bonuses, obviously. But I would be happy to see if there is something more to be said about this wonderful world. Curious about something?"

A pair of cats had gone into the room, and one went about trying to reach the lights, pawing at them, while the other seemed more interested in the people, creeping between their legs and rubbing against them. Edgar chuckled at the scene, but kept his attention on the mages.

Cale stood back as Alexander and Drew did what they had to do. In truth, Edgar was the only chance they had in knowing about the place and how things truly worked around here. He might have not liked him but Edgar did have his usefulness. When the deed was done and they returned, Edgar seemed to give them the rooms they were asking for. All they had to do now was find the others and tell them about their little deal with Edgar.

"But I would be happy to see if there is something more to be said about this wonderful world. Curious about something?"

Cale heard this proposition and it was probably directed towards Drew or Alexander but he saw that there was no better opportunity to.

"We have some friends going to the lake or they should be there already." Cale said as he remembered where Seth and the others went. "I'm going there to get them. Anything dangerous over there?"

It had been some time since Cale has seen or heard anything from Seth's group. It would be good to fetch them and tell them of their newly found accommodations.

Horatio took a step back, deciding to just watch the act unfold. "Well, I know I can't summon lightning, so." He neared the other Earthshaping traveler, crossing his arms as the dark room flashed alight with arcs of electricity. And then, the room illuminated even further, filling with vibrant lights of differing hues, all apparently representing something different. It was an impressive light show, and it showed all over the rogue's face. But, he was also just a bit dumbfounded at the happenings. Extravagant portal maps weren't exactly a thing he's picked up on previous travels.

"Curious about something?" Edgar addressed the crowd. "Curious about many things, actually. But not curious enough to bring them up here." Horatio answered, one hand going to his hip while another went through his hair. "Well, the kids have friends, that doesn't surprise me..." But then the cats started invading the room. One firmly grazed against his leg. "Curious devils, ain't they?" He muttered.

"I guess I should be eternally grateful that you would find it in you to accept the apology. I'll have to find a way to pay you back in the future."

"Don't feel like you have to rush it," Raven told Seth as she brushed his hand with her own. She made it appear that she was going to go for the hold before pulling back. "I like having something I can hold over your head." She brought her hand up to Seth's head, ruffling through his hair to illustrate the point. "That's what us Nightshades do with a lot of our info. And now that you''re giving me ammo, I'd be stupid not to use it."

Soon after Seth commented on Silvana's work, everything around the lake seemed to be peaceing the scene. All the spirits headed off into an unknown direction.

"Ummmmm....should we try to follow them?" she asked. "Or should we just be thankful they are gone and we don't have to deal with them anymore?"

"I'm going there to get them. Anything dangerous over there?"

"Well, if ya ignore the world, the gargoyles, the sometimes hungry dragons, mischievous fairies, Gargoyles both young and old, dogs....oh, and a recent problem of spirits, I imagine you'll be perfectly safe. As long as the world doesn't decide to just swallow you up, or you run into the less expected sort coming across the land." Edgar answered Cale with a small smirk.

"Then again, there are always new things coming to this world that don't make much sense. So, thats just a small list of things that could possibly cause problems, and that is probably planning for the best, and hoping everything is in a good mood. So, sure, go fetch whoever....ya are planning on fetching. You guys are reckless, I'll give ya that. I would usually think they would be dead already!"

At Horatio's mention, Edgar outright laughed.
"Well of course! Why else would I keep so many in such pleasant company? Being curious and surviving is a great trait here for my uses, meaning that all the good cats are great to have around!"

As Edgar spoke, he frowned at some of the lights going out. Glancing at Drew for a moment, he seemed to dismiss the disappearance with a sigh, and walked out of the room of light. Grabbing a bit of paper from one of the odd gadgets, he wrote a few things down on it, and tossed it back on the table.

"Well, my newfound guests, what is your plans now? Seems that you don't have much in the ways of questions, especially those of you less trustworthy than others, so I guess you have plans and things to tend to. Course, I do want to let ya know that if they include my demise that you might have your hands full. The realm is a dangerous place with or without me!"

"That's what us Nightshades do with a lot of our info. And now that you''re giving me ammo, I'd be stupid not to use it."

"I don't think you recognize how reckless us Pyromancers tend to be. A bit of ammo here or there makes it a bit more fair between us. Think of it as a head start." Seth replied, waving a finger at Raven as she ran a hand through his hair. Though, as the spirits began to walk away, Seth gave a small shrug as they began to make their way. It wasn't....dark? Did it get dark here?

"Well, we could follow them, or leave em there. Personally, I don't much care for them but...they seem to be heading back the way we came so...guessing Silvana decided to send them to the other group, which isn't very nice. Course, it isn't like there is much to do here....unless Fei wants to make us some more nice flowers to wear?" Seth said, adjusting the flowers on Raven's head to sit more properly. Perfect.

"All of this stuff with gates... seems strange. But we can ask questions about that stuff once the others get here." He said to Edgar, still keeping his focus on the task at hand. "Cale can take care of himself. Not so sure about the new guy, but he's survived this long."

He decided to stop focusing power on the object, backing away. If it stopped, he could just restart it once the others were there, and if it kept going, everything would work out just fine. He walked over to read the note Edgar had written as he answered his question. "I'm planning on waiting here for the others. We can regroup and plan out what to do next from there. Maybe Seth and the others found something we can use." He looked at a few of the gadgets, then back to the orb from before. "Actually... while we're waiting, I have to ask: are there any more things like that around here? I mean, devices that respond to lightning like that thing did? Or was that the only one? With all these devices, there has to be at least one more thing that does."

As Seth wagged his finger at Raven for her actions, the Nightshade paid him no mind. "I don't need a head start on you. I have my own powers." However when Seth's attention turned elsewhere, Raven's turned with it as she dropped her hand down from the unkempt brown mess atop the Pyro's head. "Huh..."

Seth's diagnosis of the situation was interesting. Raven was going to give it some thought until she was distracted by Seth's return fire on her head. The flowers were beginning to dry out but her hair remained damp. "I'm not sure I can handle another batch of flowers," she told him. "I was hoping to remain dry today and another lei might wreck any chance of salvaging that hope."

Edgar gave a small shrug at Drew as he asked about more of the orbs being around, with a sudden loud smashing seeming to almost reverberate through the castle. Edgar sighed, and gave a small wave.

"Yes, there are more of the orbs. Seven of them in the basement, oddly enough. Two more on this floor, and then three more on the second and third floors. I would also suggest checking out the roof, as there are....a few up there. Never bothered keeping much track up there. Never storms here, you see. Well...it shouldn't storm here. Most of the places are not built to handle it. I don't think so anyways." Edgar explained, making his way back to the main doors which the mages had entered from.

"Now, I hope you will excuse me, but I apparently have some noisy and annoying guests stopping by. I hope you are not popular, because I would rather not have any more holes in my castle, thanks. My good assistants will take care of you. JADE! ALICE! Take care of Alexander and Drew....and their friends as well, I guess. I have matters to attend to, it seems!" Edgar announced, giving a small wave behind him as he walked onward.

As he stepped out, two women stepped from a set of different hallways. The first to approach Alexander had short black hair, wearing an outfit that didn't leave much to the imagination. It was a fairly shortened top, baring midriff and fair amount of cleavage, with a short blue skirt to go with it. She also had red eyes, a pair of feathery black wings, and what appeared to be a black tail from her backside. She almost swept forward with a sway, giving a deep bow to Alexander.

"Lord Alexander, a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I understand you have a thirst for information, and perhaps a place of...comfort to enjoy said knowledge. If you like, I can take you to your room which has already been prepared with a fine meal, and a selection of books I was able to gather. If you would be willing to join me, we could be on our way?" The black haired woman said, rising with a smile and offering her arm.

The other woman seemed to be more formal, wearing a proper maid outfit in the very least covering her entire self. She also sported a pair of wings, but these seemed to be a more leathery nature, and as she stepped forward her movements seemed planned. Still, with the darkened maid outfit, it did not hide her dark blue eyes, and fire red hair which was on the longer side. Stealing a quick glance at the other girl, she bowed as well.

"Lord Drew, I am Alice. I understand that you would like to see more of the castle, and interact with more of its items. If you would please, I would be happy to direct you to the nearest of orbs...or to your room for a rest, if your current exertion left you less than prepared for another attempt." Alice said, rising from her bow with a gaze almost seemingly prepared for the rest of the guests as well.

"And if your colleagues would like to go to their rooms, another of the girls could indeed direct them. Myself and Jade have been more...personally assigned. I do hope you do not mind our...particular attentions...Don't worry though, the other girls have very...capable hands." Alice continued, giving a small wave to the other mages who had come along, regarding each with a small stare before shifting her gaze back to Drew.

In the meantime, the orb that Drew had released crackled back to life on its own, and the lights that had shown the portals again seemed to flare a bit more brightly, seemingly able to now sustain itself in keeping the odd 'map' up and going. Some of the lights seemed to be fading on their own, while one nearby gave a few small flashes, but stayed lit.

[hr]

Meanwhile, Edgar gave a small wave to a few of the statues in the room, which seemed to quickly respond to the man's appearance, and jumped to attention to the door. As he stepped over, he looked the 4 guards of stone over carefully.

"No more unwanted guests. These are....interesting subjects. Perhaps they will assist me in some regard. The unnecessary one though...if he causes issues, you are free to cause harm. And WAKE THE OTHERS! I DON'T WANT YOU ALL SLEEPING ALL DAY AGAIN!" Edgar shouted once more, this message reaching the mages back in the other room. Some of the suits of armor that were nearby quickly seemed to jump to life, and then proceeded down the halls, likely to awaken others.

With that done, Edgar swung the door open, and went outside to meet the earth golem which had been a little noisily been making its way towards his castle. Damned things were always causing such a bother, especially when they came to town.

[hr]
[hr]

Seth smirked at Raven's gaze and apparent distraction of him keeping his eyes on just about everything, yet at the same time still managing to keep some attentions on her all the same. What made him chuckle was when it seemed that she seemed less than pleased with getting a tiny bit wet from the flowers on her head.

"And I thought I was supposed to be the one worried about getting wet. If you are that worried, I can get you nice and dry you know." Seth replied with a chuckle, noting that the spirits began to make their way further away and being unable to be seen.

"Course, I imagine your forgot about that little detail, as its such a small thing to remember..." Seth went to the flowers around his neck, and they seemed to still be wet for the most part. A little bit odd, but then again this was an odd set of flowers that he had not seen before. He was going to hold on to these, just in case. Fei seemed to like them too, which was good enough for him.

Cale left the safety of the castle to find the others who he hoped was safe. This place still seemed odd. Even though some time had passed, there was no evidence of this as he retraced his steps through the town. The windows and doors still remained closed and shut while the gargoyles regarded him with suspicion. He made sure not to get any close to them to prevent any fighting. Fighting would be the last thing he wanted but at least he would prefer that over Edgar. Cale didn't quite trust the man and his intentions but he had no choice.

Cale eventually left the town and headed to the lake. Seth mentioned that he would venture there with the others. Hopefully they were safe by the time he got to them.

"A pleasure to meet you as well jade, and please just Alexander or whatever name you would prefer to call me. I have no title, so there is no need for it. As for the room I would appreciate the chance to learn more about this place, and a bit of discussion wouldn't hurt either." Alexander replied with a smile and the taking of the offered arm.

"So how did you find yourself in service to Lord Edgar?" He asked as he began to walk toward his room, he then thought to his shadow.

'Alright, so we have made some small amount of progress here, but I don't particularly like where this is going. Edgar is an odd man but he is the first amicable person we've run into. However since we seem to be splitting up now I'm going to have to continue being a good house guest. Would you be willing to keep your eyes and ears open for me and alert me if things get to being more off than they already are. I may be a bit engrossed in trying to see if I can't learn anything from whatever writings are here and from Jade.' So far he had no real reason to be mistrustful, but given where they were it was all the more reason to be cautious in his eyes. However he had shown them the map, though it was somewhat useless as of now without a reference point. Something Edgar probably had but so far as he knew the group did not.

As Cale left the Castle, he could see some small distance away what appeared to be a selection of spirits going through the streets as well. Light, shadow, and stone. One in particular seemed to be nothing but a being of light, but Cale lost sight as he went away from the castle and out of the town, making his way towards the lake.

The forest that was around the lake seemed to go past quickly enough, bringing him into the view of Seth and the others as he made his way forward. Seth noted the new approaching Earthshaper, and gave a small wave.

"Cale, what brings you out here? The castle a complete bust? That would be...annoying. You would think someone knows how to maintain things around here. By the way, you see anything...odd on the way over here? Cause we just met some visitors of our own. The non-violent kind, if you can believe that." Seth greeted, slightly surprised by the new arrival.

[hr]

"Just Alexander? My lord, that is far too improper of myself. It is a title that you seem very worthy of." Jade replied as her arm was taken and she began to walk with Alexander.

"I found myself with the good Lord Edgar when he proved himself strong enough to control these lands. He was able to take care of the monsters in the area, clean the place up, and keep everyone in line. No reason not to join with him. Especially when he is so much...fun. Would you be joining us in Lord Edgar's service? It has been a while..."

Alexander's shadow, meanwhile, had not taken a liking to the appearance of the women, almost scowling with Alexander when he took the offered arm. When the thoughts came to the shadow, the reply was quick and cautious.

"These women are....difficult. Different. I would warn the utmost caution in dealing with them. Something is off...demons perhaps? And the Lord Edgar seems to be something worse yet. I will of course be keeping my eyes open, but...this land makes me odd. I feel thicker...stronger. Not as well connected as we were in the other world. I worry that staying here too long will break the link, and I would rather not be left alone again...

"....My lord? You seem to be thinking a lot at no one. Not a good thing to do, making friends in your head. Unless you would like me to join you in there?" Jade suddenly said, giving a small mischievous wink as they arrived at a gilded door.

"Here is your room, and I do hope you appreciate the work I put into it. Silken sheets, excellent pillows...oh, and some books that I had found as well. One a bit more filled with some...creatures, and the other a theory of world creation, supposedly. There are a few more, but those are the two I remember. There are also a few lamps, to set...a good amount of light for you, of course."

Alexander's shadow watched the woman with a much more scrutinizing gaze, and then thoughts drifted forward once more.
Definitely a demon of some kind. That is my reasoning. Be wary, Alexander. Very wary, she is...doing something to read thoughts. I cannot fathom how.

Lord Drew... I like it. He thought to himself, smirking as the new girl introduced herself. He then went back to a more serious demeanor. "No need to be so formal. I'm not lord of anything. Drew's fine." he took her hand and shook it before letting her lead the way, away from the others. "Nice to make your acquaintance, Alice." Poor Cale. No idea what he's missing...

"I'm up for another attempt. Honestly, I was expecting the task to take a lot out of me, but I've got power to spare." he had to admit the recent findings were making him optimistic. For the first time since leaving the academy, there actually seemed to be a plan besides "make it up as we go along". Edgar was peculiar, no doubt. But he had also given them their only lead, and a place to stay. There were devices all around which actually piqued Drew's curiosity, and gave him a chance to adjust to his new abilities. The cute maid certainly helped with the positive impression...

As the pair walked around to the nearest device, he decided to get some more info. "So what exactly does Edgar do when he's not dealing with guests? And what about you? Seems dangerous outside, and almost no people. Hell, you three and the thief are the only other people we've seen so far..."

"I'm not sure how long we will remain here. We still need to explore the area further and learn more of where we are. Lord Edgar has been helpful, but even one as powerful as he only has so much information he can or will give. That and only one perspective, so there will be a time when it is necessary to expand the search if I want to get the best idea of just where I am and what I must do. As for the time I spend in my own head, I find it beneficial to hold conversations with myself. It helps me to try and figure out exactly what I am seeing and where I may need to look next." He said as he released the arm and entered the room.

"This place is far more than I would expect, you have done an excellent job. I'm sorry to be rude but I should set myself to learning these lands and that will make me a very poor entertainer. Not much fun in watching somebody sit quietly and read. Thank you for your company and should I wish anything from you I will most certainly find some way to get in touch. Good day." With that he closed the door and took one of the books, particularly the creation myth, and he began reading it as he thought to his other self.

'The weakening probably has to do with how you came to join me in the first place and that which gave us the gift of conversation. If you need to try and conserve your physical energy, retreat into my mind if you must or can. We shall do everything in our power to make sure you are not forced back into silence. I shall also try and keep our time here brief, I have no wish to spend the rest of my life so far from home and family.

Now as for the possible if not probable intrusion by Jade, it is to be expected. Edgar is a careful and cautious man, it makes sense that even as he would call us allies he would monitor us for the possibility of betrayal. I'm sure even though I am alone in the room I am being watched and listened to. I have no plans of fighting or starting a fuss here, I save my home and we leave Edgar that which is his. It is not for us to interfere in politics and cultures we know nothing about. Though I do agree everyone here is powerful and that certainly does not let me fully relax. As if the possibility of danger and harm were always very real.

Though that seems to be the way of the land. The strong take control and amass followers, something of a place based on survival mentality. Dog eat dog if you will. The amount of dragons and gargoyles speak multitudes of that.' By this point he had finished the first chapter of the book and was moving onto the second, being careful not to damage the book itself.

'And to whoever is surely listening, know I have no intention of upsetting any power balance there may be here. Your land is your land and it is not mine to question this. I merely wish for that which I have always wished, to save my home and return to it. Surely any being of this sufficient power will know this to be true, and power is not one thing which this land lacks in the slightest.'

"Course, I imagine you forgot about that little detail, as its such a small thing to remember..."

"Oh I know, I know," Raven replied. "Of course I reckon it would be something like putting out a candle in an ocean." She moved in again, so close that their heads were almost touching. Of course, she still had to look up at him to keep eye contact. "Unless you really have that control down to a fine art." At this point Seth's breath probably could have done the job.

"Cale, what brings you out here?"

Damnit! Raven's rookie attempts at flirting were brought to a halt with the Pyro's attentions drawn elsewhere. She turned as Seth addressed the Earthshaper who had re-emerged from the ether. It did bring up an interesting quandry though.

"Wait, if he's here, where is everyone else?" she asked Seth quietly.

"We met with the owner of the castle and he's agreed to let us stay there. The others are back in the castle, working on something with the man, he goes by the name of Edgar." Cale said as he approached Seth. He tried to withhold his own personal thoughts about the man to himself.

"Seth, there was also someone else there." Cale added "There was a thief who was living in the castle too. He's a bit unstable so I would avoid him. There's some strange power in that castle. I can't quite explain it but the castle seems to surge with energy. This is the only safe place we have so far so I guess we don't have much of a choice."

"How do things fare here?"

"If you say so, Lord Drew. Hope you'll excuse me, but it is more fitting to be formal, especially for a guest favored by Lord Edgar." Alice replied, leading Drew down the hall through another door towards what appeared to be another strange orb. This one was not in the enclosed room like the previous one. It seemed pretty much to be just part of the scenery, sitting next to a wall, in a room that almost seemed...unremarkable.

Of course, that only lasted until some of the statues in the room seemed to shake off some dust, and then seem to go out on a patrol. Alice sighed, and then gestured to the ball, releasing Drew. With the questions, she simply began smiling.

"The Lord Edgar keeps busy enough peering into this place, keeping us busy. You can be surprised how much there is to do when there is just a tiny bit of...organization. Routes to keep, things to do, things to eat, prepare, watch out for....it all adds up. I am interested to see what this will bring about though, as I do not think Lord Edgar has ever managed to recreate what you are doing at the moment, which is quite the feat. And when it comes to the rest of the world...it helps not having to survive all the time..." As Drew inquired about her, she lightly traced his arm.

"But what about me? And the others? We're very good at keeping to ourselves when we want to...or keeping to others when the mood strikes us. And as for the thief...well, we should have done something with him a while ago. But, it seems to have gotten you here, so its not that important, is it?"

"You are a very silly man, Lord Alexander. I will be nearby, even if you are not...quite as interested in my company. I imagine you'll change your mind, as books are eventually going to get boring. You act as if I need some form of entertaining, when I've been here for such a loooong time. But, if you do want to push a girl away like that, I understand...for now." Jade said through the door, obviously not fazed by Alexander's move into the room and closing the door.

"And talking at the room makes you even sillier. Are you sure you don't need the company?"

In the meantime, the Shadow Alexander looked about the room, opening a drawer here, behind the drapes, and other such areas. After the short examination, he sat at the bed, gazing about. With the string of thoughts, the shadow glanced at the door, and then replied.

"Retreat? I don't think it is a time for such an activity. We are hardly in a position to retreat, let alone myself. If you are going to be fighting out here, I might as well linger. Besides, reading a book and watching the room are two things which will not be done at the same time." The shadow thought back, his gaze focused on the door.

"I feel as if there is more at work in this land than just survival. Lord Edgar doesn't seem like the kind to survive and amass. He more seems like the type to...go. Do you think him trapped, perhaps? Or perhaps charged by this place? I can...feel the elements. They almost seem to live here, somehow. What of the book? Anything to note?

The book itself seemed to have a first chapter talking simply of what the book was going to be about. A summary of sorts, but the second chapter seemed to be a bit more into the landscape, and how it was seemingly able to completely go against itself. Snowfields next to volcanoes, the destroyed being perfect on the inside, or vice-versa.

However, there was a small side note apparently scribbled in the book on a few of the pages. Writing about how sometimes a nearby gate or door could effect the area around it, making it starkly different from the rest of the world around it, either in what creatures were around, or how the world around it reacted.

As Raven once again drifted close, Seth found his gaze locking with hers. He wasn't sure about the action at first, as he was certain that it was supposed to be some kind of uncomfortable, but she seemed to want the closeness. In fact, she drifted even closer for a moment, practically breathing her words at him. While the arrival of Cale was an interruption to the somewhat...intimate moment, Seth was almost happy for it.

"Well...I guess that answers that. Though, I wouldn't believe the luck for a second...And I guess we'll continue how much...control I have later." Seth whispered to Raven before going to conversing with Cale more loudly. Though, as was recently noticed by Seth, Cale seemed a bit more off than usual. Maybe it was the world messing with him? And...why was he here?

"Edgar, and a thief? I hope that the good Nydia wasn't left alone with the man...And Gabriel, who...well, not sure what he'll do, but I don't like it." Seth replied, now trying to gauge Cale being there now. It obviously wasn't that dangerous around here....or the spirits had cleared a path maybe? Maybe more likely Cale was a bit more bloodthirsty since getting here. Odd thought, but valid all the same.

"Energy with the castle too? Well damn, I guess we didn't discover all that much. Just...well, a lot of wildlife, some nice flowers, and an interesting lake. Overall pretty boring...course, Silvana had a bit of a meeting with the spirits, but I'm not sure how talkative she'll be about it. But at least you got us rooms, which is a different plan than I had of sleeping in the woods, or those burned out houses. Unless, of course, you think we're not doing much better inside? Cause with a thief inside, and some random man named Edgar who's been here a while isn't inspiring confidence here. Rather stay by the lake..."

"Well, if you insist on keeping things formal..." he said as the statues shook to life, making him jump back in surprise. Need to stop being surprised by everything here... but it's just too damn weird.

He took a moment to let her finish answering his questions, nodding politely before commenting. "I imagine not having to deal with all those things out there would make things a lot more pleasant, even if it does sound a little boring. Anyway, I am curious... how were these things supposed to work before? I mean, I could use electricity before... recent events, but that took a lot more effort and a specific set of circumstances." He was mostly thinking out loud, doubting that Alice had the answer to that question. Still, maybe she knows more than I assume she does.

He moved his arm away from her hand, gesturing for her to take a step back. "I'm still getting used to this. Sorry. Don't want you to get hurt." He let a current run through his arm before arcing the electricity to the orb. It was becoming easier to manifest it and keep its power manageable. While he waited for the machine to power up, he had one more question to ask. "I know it might sound rude... but how did you get those wings? Were you born with them? I've seen a couple folks in my own world recently who had wings, but they had to do some strange things in order to get them, and they weren't like yours."
