Yeah, I live smack dab in the middle of the bible belt, so...go to walmart, hear these nuts, go to the mall, hear these nuts, go to Borders, and these nuts are handing out free bibles.

I can't escape it. I guess that's fitting though, seeing as how I won't escape the rapture either...

recently i heard about them doing something like this in the 1800s or something and people believed it that strongly that people jumped of barn roofs at 12:00 thinking they will be raptured up to heaven but instead fall to their deaths.
No that was actually the rapture. We've been stuck in hell for over 200 years now.

I just want to see the look on their stupid faces when Judgement Day doesn't come.
But then they got their calculations slightly wrong and it's actually a few years off. They can keep that sort of shit coming forever, you know. :p
But the slight look of disappointment on their faces would be totally worth being stonewalled by their bullshit.
Hahaha, very true.

What I would give to be there at 12:00AM on May 22, when they realise that nothing's happened, and that they have to start all over again. :p

Honestly, all of these doomsday prophecies are getting to the point where if I'm around when the End of Days finally comes, I'm going to make a point to find God and go "Why do were you so bloody indecisive about something that big?"

I was in the car with my friend today and i passed a billboard that read
"May 21st Judgement day"
and i wanted to know what its about and everyones thoughts on this new judgement day that seems to have cut December off. did you even know about it since now?
Oh, this thread again.

Yeah, um... this thread answers itself, doesn't it. I'm old enough to have lived through quite a few apocalypses in my time and I'm sure I'll make it through this one too - somehow.

I really hope that nothing comes of it, because I'm going to be on a plane on Saturday, and I have no wish to meet my end in a 600 mile-an-hour uncontrolled verticle dive.

It is just a bunch of people guessing at the date of the Apocalypse Armageddon End of the World as We Know It.

See? It all makes perfect sense. :p
The best part is the guy who came up with this, has predicted the rapture before and was wrong
And yet his following continues to grow with each 'correction' he makes to the supposed date of Judgment Day.
[sarcasm]Why doesn't he understand that Judment Day will always be prevented delayed by The Terminator?[/sarcasm]
I don't quite understand how anybody could take this guys predictions seriously anymore at all.

Can't be judgement day, jury duty isn't til the 23nd!
OP:
Stop trying to calculate with the bible, people. It's the book of Christ, not a calender.
On the off chance they're RIGHT, I suppose the south does kinda deserves a consolation prize for all the effort.

Theres no way that can be true! Everyone knows the rapture actually happened in 1994! We should get the guy who made that prediction and have him explain to this new guy, to show him the errors of his maths and his ways of predicting the end times.

What's that? They're the same guy, you say? And that he also predicted the Rapture [a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harold_Camping#Controversy"]would happen in 1992 before that[/a]... Well that's interesting

That reminded me so much of this:

OT: I vote we all have a huge end-of-the-world party. But I'm gonna follow the advice of a guy I heard on the radio - tune your TV station to the Australia news network. It'll turn May 21 in Australia before it turns May 21 here. Therefore, the apocalypse will start there a full 23 hours before it reaches me, giving me plenty of time to prepare/convert/finish my beer.

You know how, now and again, a group of people calling themselves Christians comes out to embarrass the faith and make all the sane Christians look bad? Yeah. It's that. At least it's not as bad as Westboro.

Essentially, they claim that despite the words of Jesus saying that we cannot know the day of his coming, we can. Their reasoning basically comes down to the fact that the Bible has some 5s and 21s in it, as well as some other deep study of the Bible that their website never even begins to divulge. Also not sure how they get the end of the world coming only a few months after the rapture; even in a pre-tribulation interpretation of Revelation I've never heard the process between rapture and finale as being that short.

So in other words, it's one of two things; 1) idiots coming up with ridiculous biblical theories by taking statements out of context and ignoring blatantly conflicting passages, or 2) people trying to use religion to make money. Either way, it will once again make Christians look bad even though the vast majority of them are not near this ridiculous. Sigh...

This is just another idiotic cry for attention. The rapture won't ever come, people need to stop believing silly fairy tales.

You poor poor bastard. As for the world ending: That is neither the first nor the last claim that the world is gonna end. Those people are gonna feel really stupid on the 22nd.

I think I posted a thread about this not to long ago...

Anyways, I don't think it will happen. This guy has been wrong before about this.

Though if it does happen, and all us Christians get raptured, have fun down here! Lord knows you will need help.
