Final Fantasy XIII. I honestly believed XII (which I started, got 30 hours into and never played again) was just an isolated incident, and that XIII would captivate me from start to finish. Turns out, not so much.

More surprisingly, Batman: Arkham Asylum. It's an amazing game, there's no denying that, but when I sat down to play through the game again on the harder difficulty setting, I found myself swiftly losing interest. I'm not entirely sure why, but I think it's because I already know how the game plays out, and much of the appeal, for me, lies in not knowing what kind of insane traps the Joker's set up for you.
XII was the best out of all the FF games because of the level of freedom and expansiveness of the game world. All the other FF games felt so small and underwhelming compared to it. Plus how could you not love

Balthier is such a suave and charismatic man, how could you not love him.

OT:I loved XII (other than the fact I was seriously under-leveled half the time) and XIII but both my XII saves (the original and the back-up) got corrupted and I was like 60 hours in (I like to do all the hunts for teh lulz before I go to the feywood) and I just didn't have the heart to do it all again. For XIII my original fat ps3 got the YLOD and Sony refused to fix it (Something about it not having the original parts in it, which was bullshit because I sat in line for 2 days to get one at launch) and when I got my new one I played right up until Oerba and said "Fuck this Imma go play Starcraft 2".

I actually liked the cast quite a lot, particularly Balthier and Fran. I've heard it said that Vaan is weak as a protagonist, and maybe that's true, but I think once you get the whole crew together, they really shine. It's kind of a callback to the ensemble-style casts of VI and possibly VII.

That said, I really couldn't get into the gameplay. I couldn't help but feel that Gambits do a lot of the legwork for you, and the license system was just tedious for me. Call me a purist, a washed-up old fogie, a killjoy, whatever you want, but for me, if it's not classic turn-based, it's not Final Fantasy. In the end, this is what killed FFXIII for me as well.

I can't count how many games I've just stopped playing for no apparent reason. I plan to get back on all of them, though.

Except Scorpion: Disfigured. That can go suck of a.. disfigured scorpion penis?

To be honest though I never heard of FF until my friendlet me borrow FFXII so I had no past experieces with FF games. With that said I backtracked into the series and was underwhelmed by the small scale all the other games were when compared to XII. This is why I had high hopes for XIII and all they did was bring linearity to whole new level. The gambits didn't help me mch because they hid all the useful ones and left you with the basic ones like telling your allies when to attack etc..

FFXIII would have been better with gambits because I can't tell you how many times I rage quit because I switched to a commando, medic ravager class and the medic NEVER HEALS ME. Then its game over and I just say **** this ****

Modern Warfare 2.

Played the campaign and got to lvl 40(ish?) I think and then was just like... ehhhh. Started playing something else. Though my roommate still plays that game all the time, so someone got a lot of value out of the money

Red alert 3. They had a HUGE chance to make a GREAT game but it fell short and nobody plays it anymore.

Mass Effect 2 comes to mind. After I recovered my first batch of soldiers to complete that one Freedom's Progress mission only to learn I was supposed to collect more of them, I just wanted to find something more interesting to do.

As for the first one? I'd rather not talk about that. I have a feeling i'm going to put up my Flame Shield momentarily anyhow...

After getting Annual about an hour and a half ago, I never want to see Halo 3's campaign again.

Edit:

Oh yh, just remembered.

One of the last missions in saints row 2, where you hop on a Jet Ski then get attacked by a chopper. At that point I thought stuff it.

Mass Effect, for me the most fun part was actually the side quests; driving around in that jumping space car thing and raiding enemy bases. The rest of it was pretty much "generic BioWare RPG" although with a slightly better combat system. Still haven't finished it but I've been thinking about doing it lately.

Also Assassin's Creed 2, I got bored because it was too easy.

I think I only needed to defeat Ganondorf to complete Twilight Princess when I was just like "I cannot be arsed". That was 2007, still hasn't been completed.

Devil May Cry 4. first i lost interest part way through neros campaign at that snow palace place, then i slogged through to neros final boss and beat it, actually coming to enjoy myself. then they sent me in as dante to replay every mission again. stopped playing as soon as i started the dante mission, then went back to it just a couple weeks ago, but it turns out it didnt save at all during the 10 min long cutscene or during the mission, so i have to beat neros final mission (annoying one at that) all oer again, THEN i haveto do dante. eff that, im actually going to trade it to someone first chance i get.

I've always been a Final Fantasy Fan, but the team mate AI in Final Fantasy 12 made me turn that game off for good. My freaking team mates would stand right in front of monsters with cleave and just die like idiots.

I hardly ever finish a game unless it instantly grabs my balls and yanks.

Lately I've had more luck with that, but sometimes I still feel like I am slogging.

(Just a little note, I can't play demo's anymore. If I do, I'll already be bored of the game by the time I buy it)

Halo. I emptied an entire magazine of Assault Rifle ammo at one guy just for him to beat me down with a pistol. Never again.

Oh, and GTA IV. I'm not even 1/4 of the way through that.
