FF 7 and 12. In 12's case I've gotten to a boss that might just be impossible for me at my level. As for 7... I don't know it's just taking to long to get good.

3D dot game Heroes. In the final area you need to beat every boss again... I am slowly slogging through it at the rate of 1 a month.

Strangely enough MGS1. I just do not want to backtrack for the gas mask.

Half Life 2.
I bought it, got about 5 hours into the story, went for a cup of tea and upon returning, I immediately decided I was bored with the game. I didn't play it again util 5 months later. Upon finishing it, I smacked myself in the head and proceded to play it from the beginning again, completing the game in one sitting! 'Twas epic.

Oh, and GTA IV. I'm not even 1/4 of the way through that.
Yes, GTA IV has that effect on a lot of people, myself and most of my friends included.

As someone who has an almost compulsive need to finish games, this is the mark of true failure in a game.

If I can put the effort into a game to get at least 1/3 of the way into it, and for a game to loose my interest after that. Then that game has failed epically.

Oblivion. Very much Oblivion.

Me: "Oh god, it's all the same forest isn't it?"

Patrick Stewart: "Well um. Oooh! There's a snowy forest!"

Me: "But nothing as alien or unique as the ash plains?"

Patrick Stewart: "We have the depths of hell for you to explore!"

Me: "I'm interested. It isn't all copy-pasted like the forest is it?"

Patrick Stewart: "The mapping department went on strike."

Me: "Sure... Are the conversations still like reading wikipedia or did they attempt to pitifully humanize the situation with terrible voice acting and a clunky dialogue interface?"

Patrick Stewart: "To quote everyone's favourite Russain General: 'Guys, this is bad.'"

Me: "Hmm. Well, maybe it's not all bad. Is there cool stuff? Badass monsters like nix hounds, interesting villains like the ascended sleepers, or a wonderfully flawed but detailed alchemy system where I can make my intelligence 9999999999 for an entire year?"

Patrick Stewart: "No."

Me: "What about cool armours or something, like bonemold?"

Patrick Stewart: "Well umm, you can use this leather armour - it's kinda neat."

Me: "Well what did Bethesda improve."

Patrick Stewart: "There's the graphics."

Me: "Yeah that's kind of expected in sequels - anything else?"

Patrick Stewart: "Oh, there is one thing. Remember how you could never hit anything in Morrowind?"

Me: "No, I understood how the fatigue system worked."

Patrick Stewart: "The what? Anyway, we fixed that by adding a block function."

Me: "Stunning."

I stopped playing FFXIII after I got to Gran Pulse, because it just became too hard. It might be because I was underlevelled, but I was struggling on basic enemies. I haven't touched the game in a few months, but this thread has inspired me to try and complete it.

It's very hard for me to get back into ModNation Racers if it's even possible anymore, it might be due to the fact its the only game I have without guns XD

Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus.

Absolutely no replay value what so ever

Oh, we're talking about games we never finished?

Then for me it's Pokemon: Battle Revolution.

Since I don't have a DS, after I turned it on, I just said "NO! THIS IS NOT THE WAY IT WORKS!" and turned it off for the first and last time....

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 recently.

It's not that I don't like it anymore, it's just that I can't seem to get myself to play it.

I think I only needed to defeat Ganondorf to complete Twilight Princess when I was just like "I cannot be arsed". That was 2007, still hasn't been completed.
That sounds familiar...I got to some area where I collected the bug things, and I couldn't find one of the little bastards, so I just thought 'Fuck it, I genuinely cannot be arsed'.

I did this with Red Dead Redemption. I was quite into it, and was enjoying immensely. I was all psyched up and into the atmosphere because I watched westerns prior to the release, as I do with most games I'm interested in. (As with Mafia 2, I'll watch some gangster flicks, and so forth..)

Anyway, we had a big family get together one day as I was playing it, everyone showed up, and I basically had to give the game up for who knows how long.. a week? Maybe more. As people were in and out, in and out.. small house.

So I haven't even played it since. Must have been over 2 months ago.

Naughty Bear. Just wasn't fun :/

I also never finished Onimusha 4, but that was cuz my save data got corrupted. I was right before the final area, and had 100% everything else. Was not up to doing it again, and have never been back since.

Mafia II on the last mission... So dumb.

The game before this: "Let's put in enemies in normal amounts and have shootouts."
The game on the last mission: "OH LOL LETS SEND OUT A BAJILLION GUYS WITH SHOTGUNS THAT BUMRUSH YUR COVER WILE A BAZILLION GUYS SHOOT IT FROM AFAR WIFF RIFLEZ"

Final Fantasy XIII. I honestly believed XII (which I started, got 30 hours into and never played again) was just an isolated incident, and that XIII would captivate me from start to finish. Turns out, not so much.

More surprisingly, Batman: Arkham Asylum. It's an amazing game, there's no denying that, but when I sat down to play through the game again on the harder difficulty setting, I found myself swiftly losing interest. I'm not entirely sure why, but I think it's because I already know how the game plays out, and much of the appeal, for me, lies in not knowing what kind of insane traps the Joker's set up for you.
XII was the best out of all the FF games because of the level of freedom and expansiveness of the game world. All the other FF games felt so small and underwhelming compared to it. Plus how could you not love

i totally agree, i loved every minute of that game, ive completed it twice.

for me games that i just stop playing generally be games i get stuck on, fallout 3, fracture, bioshock, CoD MW2's spec ops mode, CoD WaW veteran mode, , i love the games upto the point in which i got stuck and then never played them again, (even traded them in apart from MW2 :P)

Both No More Heroes games. I loved both of them and had incredible fun playing them, but near the end of the games I just lose interest. I ALMOST beat both of them, and when I got off for the night, I just never played them again. I just don't feel like playing them.

Final Fantasy XII. Not Because I didnt like it though. My friend showed me the ending video on Youtube before either of us had played it, so I got to the final boss, couldnt beat him the first time I tried, then I thought "screw it,i know what happens ill do it later". Then I got a PS3, and didnt want to play it on PS2, play it all over again or get a converter for the memory card, so I didnt go back.

Also havent finshed Madworld, Destroy All Humans Wii, New Super Mario Bros, or Guilty Gear Accent Core X-2. Cant be bothered with the Wii right now

I quit Just Cause 2 yesterday. I did 2 storyline missions, but played 20 hours doing Faction missions and taking bases. Then I got repeatative, so I quit. might go back eventually
