My opinion on Dragon Age: Origins can be found here [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.169176]. Though as mentioned that review is lacking in personal experience, so I will elaborate upon that here.
What choices did you all make?
As usual, I took the route of being a goody-two shoes. But even then I had trouble with some of the decisions in the game. For example, I had particular trouble deciding whether or not to destroy the Anvil of the Void. On one hand, Golems are awesome and could be a great help in our fight against the Archdemon. But they can only be created through a horrific process. Plus the Anvil's potential to be used for good is matched by it's potential to be used for evil. I wasn't confident in giving Branka or Harrowmont control of it, plus I felt like an asshole disobeying the wishes of the guy who made it. So after a few minutes I decided to burn it. Wish I didn't have to though. I have to learn to be a bigger jerk.

I also ended up in a romantic relationship with Lelianna, albeit by complete accident. Literally right before we were about to enter the final battle she told me about her love. She said we would talk about it later, but of course that never happened. I was just trying to be nice to her, as with all my party members. Didn't mean to end up in a romance.

This also led to one of the most ridiculous things I have ever experienced in a game. As my party proceeded to slash through the legions of Darkspawn infesting Denerim, I accidentally clicked on Wyne. You'd think she wouldn't want to talk during a crisis, but instead she gave me relationship advice! You could hear children screaming in the background while she gave me a lecture about not putting my love ahead of my duty as a Grey Warden. If she thinks that my duty was so important, she shouldn't have delayed my progress. I don't need to talk about dating when there are Ogres about 20 feet down the street.

Who killed the arch demon?
Me, because I am awesome. Also because everyone else in my party would have been squashed by the Archdemon in one hit. And I certainly couldn't send Allistar to kill it. Then there would be no king!
Did anyone have the baby with Morrigan?
Another difficult choice. I really didn't like the idea of sacrificing either me or Allistar. But I knew that letting Morrigan give birth to Trogdor would have some dire consequences. Ultimately I couldn't decide which was the right decision so I flipped a coin. It landed on heads, so I let Morrigan have the demon baby. I can't decide if that was the right thing to do.

Any parts you felt were weak? (I thought the deep roads went on way too long)
Like you mentioned earlier, some of the origin stories are pretty dull. If you thought being a Human Noble was bad, try the mage origin story. It's so bloody boring. I also hated the Sloth Demon's realm, as it was not remotely challenging and only existed to annoy me. It further extended the Circle Tower quest, which I felt was unnecessary. Speaking of which, why the hell was that tower covered in fleshy growths? I know it was infested with demons, but what exactly makes the demons want to cover the walls with bloody cysts?

I also felt that the Deep Roads went on for a bit to long. Everything after the Broodmother (excluding the battle over the Anvil of the Void) felt like an arbitrary extension.

And what were your favorite moments from the game?
Slaying the Highdragon of Haven. Nothing made me feel like a bigger badass than finally putting that Dragon to rest. It was a harder than the Archdemon.

God damn now I want to play Dragon Age: Origins, but I'm stuck playing Mass Effect, which is not nearly as fun.

My favorite parts of the game were probably the boss fights. The High Dragon, Archdemon, and Flemeth fights were all amazing. I just wish they lasted longer or there were more of them. A lot of the other bosses were really pushovers, and didn't present any more of a challenge than a standard pack of enemies. Dragons were tons of fun though, cause you actually had to play well to beat them.

My biggest letdown is the equipment in the game. None of it felt interesting. The progression from level 1 to level 25 really doesn't give you much more power in the way it does in many other RPGs. I felt like my damage may have doubled from 1 to 25, while in many other games it would be 10 times as much. The gear was a giant letdown across the board. The only good gear was Blood Dragon Armor and Wade's Dragonscale sets. Everything else was AWFUL and boring as hell.
personally i love the wardern armor, made my dude look fucking badass, and idk if anyone else had this..did you get the warden helmet? i tried it a few different times and it was a random roll on if i got it or not
yea you're right, I forgot about the Warden set as well. But does anyone disagree that having 3 different sets of armor that are decent in a 50 hour game is a little pathetic? I'm currently level 12 or 13 on my 2nd character and I still haven't seen a single usable ring for a Rogue. I mean... seriously BioWare? I love you, but get it together.
i whole heartedly agree. i love biowares characters, depth, and story more than any other games i've ever played, but man they need to make some variety and balance..plus idk if it was just me, most of the shit i picked up was utterly useless..not even that good for selling really, unlike in oblivion or fallout where you could pick up lots of good shit to sell and barter with

ehh i guess thats the perks and liabilities with different game companies..

I've got a quick question, I'm up to before I have to fight the archdemon, does Morrigan actually have to be with you if you have the baby with her?

And on topic, deep roads felt somewhat long but was bearable, but the fade was really annoying, if it weren't for the power-ups scattered around it, I wouldn't bother saving them.

Yea, the game was overall pretty awesome. I am in my second playthrough now, after playing a mage to unlock the blood mage skill.
I did my first playthrough as a human Noble warrior though I think maybe I shouldn't have picked the sword and sheild combo. Not that it wasn't good, though I kind of wanted to go two handed. I ended up choosing to die killing the arch demon, mostly because I wanted to be the holy good man, and I had chosen Alistair to be king, so I didn't want him to die, though he was kind of anxious, since he said he was still very uneasy about being the king. I did get a nice speech at my funeral though.
I will say, I mostly only hated the sloth demon dream world, and the deep roads started to get annoying after awhile.
I guess a lot of people hate the dream world, though maybe for different reasons.
I would say most people (including me) hate it because it is long, and a quest within a quest.
I would say, though, my second reason would be because on my first playthrough, it became a quest within quest needed to finish another quest, or basically, a quest within a quest within a quest.
How is this possible? Some person might ask. Well, being Mr. Goody Two-shoes hero boy made me go to Redcliff, and when the time came to decide how to deal with Conor, I chose to go to the circle of Magi for help, so nobody would die. Little did I know when I got there that the tower was under attack, and I had to get to the top to save the mages and get their help.
Anyway, I will say, besides those mentioned spots and some navigation issues, I enjoyed everything except for the final battle with the archdemon. I took me over two hours to beat that, on Normal.

I played as an elf mage. I didn't trust Mouse from the start, and beat the Harrowing easily. Was very surprised to find out that Jowan was an actual blood mage.

Kept Morrigan, Leliana and Shale in my party, once I had accumulated them all.

I hit it off with both Morrigan and Leliana. I did both personal quests, but in the end I stuck with Leliana. She's nice, Morrigan isn't. (And that accent.)

I saved the Mage's Tower first, along with the mages inside. My dislike of religion being used for nefarious purposes carried over into the game, and I hated the Templars. Putting down apostate mages? Restricting mage's freedoms? Hmph.

Ugh. The sloth demon. Very annoying. I would rather have had more floors to ascend in order to extend the mission length than go onto what felt like a very large mandatory sidequest.

Then it was off to Redcliffe. Did that, nothing too exciting. Let Jowan go, as well as the Desire Demon, for the extra talent. My rationale was that the kid could be able to fight her off later, when he was a mage.

Killed the High Dragon in the mountains. Wynne had died in the Mage's Tower, due to some unfortunate words between Morrigan and I that Wynne didn't approve of, which meant that Morrigan became my healer at that point. Leliana had a habit of falling in battle, which annoyed me somewhat. Saved the ashes, though I could really care less about the Chantry and it's bullshit.

Off to the forest. While my original intention was to help to elves, being something like kin, I betrayed them because werewolves are fucking awesome. I felt a little bad, but even more so at the epilogue.

The Deep Roads. Aye, that should have been a smidgen shorter, but I didn't have much of a problem with it. The Broodmother is disgusting. The Anvil of the Void's fate took me a moment's pause to decide upon, but I eventually destroyed it. Bhelen became king, and the epilogue made me very happy with that decision.

At the Landsmeet, I killed Loghain (that bastard!) and Allistair and Anora became King and Queen. While I understood his reservations towards becoming king, I eventually told him to shut up and live with it. Funny guy, though. Dunno why everyone hates him.

The Dark Ritual was completed, which will probably come back to severely kick me in the ass. But I didn't want to die, and Ferelden needed Allistair (I don't trust Anora), so...yeah.

The Archdemon I took down in one try, which surprised me, because the rest of the game had some weird difficulty spikes, in my opinion (I play on normal). He (she?) was down a third of its health when all three party members were downed. Good job healing, Morrigan. Why is she unable to use potions herself? Jesus Christ Andraste's little toe!

I wish the game had either Phoenix Downs or Unity, like in Mass Effect.

So here I am, a mage who also has arcane warrior specialization, running around trying to kill an archdemon. I defeated the major groups of darkspawn, used my remaining two crossbow-things, and summoned any remaining soldiers (not many). I spent my time alternating between running away, drinking mana, er, I mean, "lyrium" potions, and unleashing every spell I had. Eventually I whipped my sword out to go toe to toe with the baddy. Eventually he fell, myself being close to death. By the end, I went from 74 health poultices to two.

And the game ended. I showed interest in seeing Seheron, a land that no foreigner sees. Dunno how that will affect anything.

Fantastic game. Personally, Mass Effect is better, but I still love this game. Awakening is an obvious purchase.

Playing through again, with opposite choices and with Allistair, Sten and Wynne.

I'm thinking of doing another play through soon. With a asshole version of my guy now.

After I beat and review all the DLC.

Am I really the only one who had no trouble with the Archdemon?

For me, the Highdragon was much harder.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
I actualy found the last boss fight rather easy, I had the mages help out, they just effed up that dragon, I let Loghain take the hit on the dragon since Alister ran off. The deep roads did get a bit boring but I really liked the sloth demon part

Hmm what happens in epilogue if you help were wolves? I am very curious since That decision took me a long time to think of what I should do, and I helped the elves.

Well I felt bad because I realized I didn't do most side quest after I completed game and I didn't like replaying it.

I toughened up Alistair and had him be king, still I think killing Loghain was a waste but he deserved it. But the best thing would probably be having Anora and Alistair marry. Considering that I trust Alistair to keep that devious girl from doing anything bad, and her administration skills could help a lot.

I liked idea of sitting in a big chair and telling soldiers to do my dirty work for me, so I stayed and helped Alistair with being king, after all I promised I would help him being king. But if you read "Stolen Throne" book in Dragon Age, it wasn't a good feeling when Alistair chopped Loghains faces and blood bursted out into Anora astonished mouth... (Well maybe it did feel good a little) I guess I really wanted to have Alistair on the throne half-way through game.

Also yes I did that thing with Morrigan, I REALLY didn't want anyone to die. With that "continue story" in the sequel thing they might be doing, I hope wont bite me in the ass.

Taken from the Dragon Age Wiki:

"If The Warden killed the Dalish the werewolves will be respected for a while due to their part in stopping the blight. However as time passes they fail to completely suppress their violent instincts and eventually attack nearby human settlements leading to the humans gathering in force to finally wipe them out for good. But when said armies march all they find are abandoned camps. The Lady of the forest and her followers disappeared."

Whoa I read on Dragon Age Wiki that if you "toughen" Alistair up, he will not no more input from you when he is king. (so when you see Alistair family and you toughen him up there by saying 'everyone is out for themselves' it will change personality a little.

High Dragon was harder because my stats were way lower, and because Mr. "Enchantment!" wasn't pretty much right before it would tons of health potions.
I still didn't beat the Archdemon on the first try. I think its because I'm not very good at games.

The Return to Ostagar glitch got me on my last playthrough. I was planning on being a Duelist/Ranger, but could only be a Duelist because Ranger can only be learned through a book.

And I'm agreeing with everyone who didn't like the Sloth Demon Fade. To me, it was just because the scenery was so bland. Theres got to be a way to make a hellish landscape look interesting (wags finger at Oblivion too).

Same with Leliana.
