I guess the Monkey Island games would be mine, they are a few months younger than me, haven't played much of them mind you, just started the first game. Still tough, fun, quirky game and good music :D

Earlier this year, I got my (internet)hands on a copy of Evil Genius from GOG. And it was awesome! Heck I didn't even feel that the graphics were bad! Because they weren't!

...So, yeah. A old game that isn't very much talked about. I guess I've just gotten better at getting the games I actually want sooner rather than later.
The Evil Genius as in where you control minions and take over the world?
If so, that's on my top 5 list of games that NEEDS a sequel or more games of its kind.

If you were talking about something else, my bad.

Played Freespace 2 [http://www.gog.com/gamecard/freespace_2] a couple years ago.

Best space-sim game I've ever played. Seriously. Game came out in 199-goddamn-9, and it's still fantastic by 2010 standards.

I tried half life 2 again this year.....I still don't like it.

Animation and Modding and Source are all that I like. Aside from that, it has to be the most generic game I've ever played.

Now, I also tried Metroid Prime 3 again. I love it better than I played it the first time. (The first time was amazing but this time was better)

played deus ex and deus ex 2 to prep for human revolutions

first left me speechless on terms of the story and detail to it(how on earth did they fit every single possibility in there?)

second made me rage for the first 3 hours, so much of the immersion lost with the ammo, augs (like i cannot be a stealthy hacker - too limiting) but i do give it credit for giving me the chance to complete the story from the first as in seeing what world results from my choices.

Another game i found was folklore on ps3 - such a mystical and well presented story.

currently playing planescape torment myself only about 4 hours in and it makes me smile from the narrative

I played it awhile back, but I never finished Legend of Dragoon.

Now that I finished it about a month ago, I now know how some people feel about it getting a sequel.

Also, dat cutscene artwork! That's how Dragoons should look.
now this is something i like to hear:)

OT:
i didnt play chrono trigger till it hit the ds......i feel like i kinda gimped myself as i loved FF6 (FF3 for the snes in the US) on my SNES and kinda stoped playing rpgs till tales of symphonia on the gamecube because i couldnt find a rpg that could come close to that kind of gameplay.

I played FF7 for the first time in 2007. Despite the fact that it hasn't aged very well in the visuals department, it was still quite entertaining. I didn't really go crazy over it, but I can understand that it must have been pretty revolutionary back then.

Well, this happened to me 3 times in the last week.

It all started when I went looking for Let's Plays on Alien vs Predator, the newest one. I ran across a particularly funny fellow from the UK. Only problem was, he kept comparing it to this mysterious "Alien vs Predator 2" that he always said was better.
So, being a curious person, I looked around and picked up the game. And then I realized why so many people disliked the new one. The game had actual TENSION. The Xenomorphs were actually a THREAT. And it was awesome.

The second one was when I got an email from Good Old Games telling me that they were having a special deal. Not really worrying about the 10 bucks, I selected my 5 games somewhat randomly. One especially caught my eye. A nearly blank cover with just the word "DEFCON" printed across it.
I was very intrigued, so I immediately installed and started playing. After watching my final wave of nuclear warheads descend upon the enemy cities in slow motion, seeing things like "Moscow hit. 13 million dead" with the downright haunting score playing, I knew this was going to be one of my favorite PC games ever.

THIRD game I found came as a result of a few online videos that eventually led me to a trailer for a game called Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines.
And it's amazing. Like Deus Ex, but with more strippers and bloodsucking and some of the best side missions I have ever seen in a game to date.

The best part? This is all coming from a guy who puts pretty much zero value on old games and judges everything by the standards of today.

Fallout 3 first, needless to say, it was SHIT.

That said, after that a friend of mine did manage to persuade me to the two originals, loved them, got NV as well. I think it says something about Bethesda when quite frankly the graphics in Fallout 3 are at most on par with the first two Fallout 3 games because character models are fucking shit (as much as it may surprise Bethesda, gameplay over graphics means YOU ACTUALLY HAVE TO MAKE THE GAMEPLAY GOOD).
You know, you may want to put "/rant" or the like at the end of that. It helps to avoid confusion if you want to be hyperbolic, sarcastic or intentionally illogical.

Downloaded KOTOR from Steam a few months ago. I knew the twist already, but even so, it blew me away. At first I was a little worried that it would be tiny, because the menu screen only fills a small space in the middle of the screen, what with modern resolutions being bigger. But the actual game fills the whole screen with asskickery from start to finish. And no other game has ever given me the sight of an old guy running around an evil spaceship in his pants and socks, dual wielding katanas and tearing through heavily armed guards.

I feel bad to tell you this, but the studio went bankrupt a few years after making the game D:
At least they sold the rights to Rebellion, so I guess there's a small chance they'll make a sequel.

This is the reason I want a few million moneys, so I can pay for it to be developed.

Started Thief and Psychonauts in September and October respectively, and Dark Souls late October as well. There are lots of parties I've been late to.

I played Klonoa on the Wii back in 2010 I think, and it was one of the best platformers I have ever played. So then I got the Lunatia's Veil and the two game boy games off amazon and loved them, but then I found out that the series was over. What makes it more tragic is that I remember seeing Door to Phantomile in Hollywood Videos back in the day but didn't rent it, probibly because I thought the main character was a girl and I didn't want to play as one. God I hate my younger self...

Final Fantasy IX back in 2010. It was after I've beaten Final Fantasy VII for the first time in the same year in fact. VII was a very good game in it's own right, but IX. HOLY SHIT.

FFIX just blew me away by how awesome it was. It's lovable cast of characters, amazing soundtrack, gripping story, and fantastic ending made it pretty much one of my most favorite games of all time AND my favorite JRPG.

I also played ICO last year via the Team ICO collection. Fucking amazing game as well.
IX is by far my favorite Final Fantasy, as someone who has loved VII, VIII, IX, X, and XII.

OT: It's not really all that old, but Persona 4. More specifically, the recently released Persona 4 Golden for the Vita, which is even less old. But after playing it for 74 hours and finally reaching the end, I found myself saying "I don't want it to end yet!" which has never really happened to me before, especially with such a long game.

And it's prompting me to actually finally play Persona 3, so there's that.

I did like the mechanics. Thing is I only played it because my old college roommate had the Orange Box. I've already gotten Portal 1 for PC (since they gave it away for a few weeks) and TF2 is now free so I don't know if I'd buy it just for that. Maybe if I found it cheap or something.
With the winter sale coming up on steam soon, it may be worth checking it out when it undoubtedly goes down to $5
