Just finished portal 2...my thourghts and speculation (spoilers)

ok to be more specific that was AWSOME!! so yeah I just finished portal (while wering my own home made Apature laboratories tank top...yes Im that nerdy)

ok I new it was going to be cool to begin with but seriously THAT blew all my expectations out of the water, I seriously LOVE it when a game really shocks/and or surprises me

I mean Valve could have just slapped a few test chambers together and people would have been happy, but no they went all out with this one, it was epic

I was a little worried that i might find it too short, but no I found the length to be completley satisfying (and this is coming from somone who obsessed over lenth) and I havnt even done the co-op yet

and Im surprised at how much they explained in GlaDOS's backstory and all that, not much on the ratman but I supose thats all about keeping a certian air of mystery (and I bet theres more stuff to pick up on and I swear I caught a glimps of somthing...save for my next playthrough no spoilers there please)

it was also strnage seeing GLaDOS acting normal

and the ending? perfect! Finally chell gets a happy ending (more or less) I wouldnt mind if there wasnt a seaquel (as for the fate of the ratman? mabye..)

....so anyway you knwo how GLaDOS is always making fun of chell being adopted or her parents abondoning her? while I know you cant trust a thing she says she is quite consistant with it, so maye theres a hint of truth there...

yeah portal 2 is the best new game that i have played recently. i will go as far as saying that it is the best game on the source engine. and yeah there is heaps of hidden stuff for you to find. wait till you play the co-op mode it is awesome. level of awesomeness depends on who you play with.

Spelling aside <.< It's always nice to see someone else blown away by the game. Have you tried co-op? The real, puzzle solving goodness is in there along with more humor.

dont know where it was but galdos poking fun at you with the adopted stuff. thats aperature science standard motivation strategy for ophans, there is also a standard one for hobos and bums, and one for olympians/astrononauts i think XD, it even describes the use of cake and insults and stuff XD

I dunno, when i looked at it, it seemed more like one of Wheatley's weird turret-box thingies.
I'm talking about the shadow in the turret opera part, though. But it does look and move a bit like those weird boxturrets, in my opinion. But maybe we're talking about different things.

Anyways, i totally agree with ya, OP.
The ending blew my mind, especially the opera part. Just...yeah. I haven't gotten such feelings out of a game in a long, LONG time..

I completely agree with you. Portal 2 is an amazing game. I'd never played portal the first, and didn't know if it would be any good (i rarely believe hype about games, to avoid disappointment)
but i was surprised by portal 2. The story line worked, the game itself mindfucked me (in a good way) and the ending was fantastic. And most importantly of all? I had fun. Through out the game, it was fun, fun, fun. I loved the game.


By the way, you've spelt thoughts wrong in the title. Thought you ought to know.

Wait you didn't beat the Co-op?! But that's the best part by far.

The normal tests are all quite easy, the coop ones actually have a few difficult puzzles.

I also enjoyed Portal 2 though, glad to see people are buying it.

The game was great ,but do not think about the ending too much otherwise it'll stop making sense for you. Like, how the fuck did she get a clear shot of the moon through a tiny hole if they're miles underground with floors above them?

Also, tis possible for more Portal games. Beat the co-op, you'll see.

It makes me depressed that Portal 2 got away without including those... I think they would have been an interesting mechanic if they were actually put in like Valve said they would be. But, there is still hope, I heard a new, free expansion will be coming out soon for Portal 2, hopefully Valve includes them then.
