Look at what I already have, should give you an idea.

But tbh, I'm looking for more action-type games, games that I actually got this thing for. Games like Dishonored, although I have it for the ps3 already, if steam had it on sale i would buy it in a flash.

Some free to play games you could try include Super monday night combat, Tribes: Ascend, Path of exile, Raiderz, Dragon's prophecy (its in closed beta I think but you can still sign up for it), Firefall (also in beta and will be for a lot longer, you can still sign up), Smite (in Open beta), Ghost Recon, and Neverwinter (might be in open beta or full release I dont recall). Theyre all free to play so you might as well give them a try since theres nothing to loose

Other games I recommend include Dark souls (a very unforgiving game but if you succeed at it you will feel like a boss), Antichamber, Battlefield 3 or Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (BF3 has faster gameplay but BFBC2 has better class balance IMO), Guns of Icaris, Sang Froid: Tales of werewolves, Bleed (although it does have a retro style its quite actiony), They bleed pixels (see bleed), Far cry 3: Blood Dragon, Killing Floor, Metro 2033, Primal Carnage, Chivalry: Medival Warfare, and FTL. Im sure theres more but thats what I had off the top of my head

You also might want to tell us what your rig is so we know if you can run something really well or not

Well then here's what I'll recommend:

The STALKER games, mainly Shadow of Chernobyl and Call of Pripyat. Personally I prefer Pripyat myself but they're both amazing games the likes of which you wont find anywhere else. Atmospheric, intense, challenging, they're just an incredible experience to play. In both games cases I'd also recommend downloading the 'Complete' mod before playing as it essentially acts as a mega super patch improving the games visuals while also making them more smooth experiences. Later on if you find you like the series there are other, better mods out there for the STALKER games as well but for an introduction Complete works extremely well.

For another uniquely PC shooter experience Red Orchestra 2 might be worth a try. If all you're used to are console fps then you'll have never played another game like it. RO2 is hardcore, one shot, one kill, war is hell brutality. It's also one of the most intense multiplayer games I've ever played, I can only actually play for an hour or two before I have to quit because it gets to me. The constant ringing from explosions... the screams of my comrades as they fall... the feeling of being trapped in a ditch knowing if I move even an inch I'll die...

It's as close to a PTSD simulator as you can get, Spec Ops notwithstanding.

And if you want something like Dishonored you could always play Arkane Studios previous game, Dark Messiah of Might & Magic. Very fun game, I've always thought that much like their game before that called Arx Fatalis, it deserved more attention than it ended up getting. Playing either Dark Messiah or Arx you'll see a lot of where Dishonored came from though and both are a lot of fun. I point out Dark Messiah in particular though since Arx is getting on in years and with a new PC, I imagine you'll want something that looks nice. And while it's not exactly a new game itself, I replayed Dark Messiah not long ago myself and it still looks surprisingly good.

For something more rts-y definitely check out Dawn of War 2 and Company of Heroes. Both games by Relic still look and play amazingly well, I can't recommend either enough, they're both fantastic.

And finally, truth be told, I wouldn't have really recommended Diablo 3. Both Torchlight 2 and Path of the Exile I consider better alternatives. Still if that's a type of game you enjoy look both those up, they're great fun.

Yeah, maybe...I prefer BF3 of the two, and it is a GREAT game, but BF4 is just around the corner, plus everyone playing has been playing for a while (and usually a couple of games back in the franchise) so it might be a little overwhelming and then gone really soon anyway. In Australia at least there are virtually no BF:BC2 servers running.

But yeah S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is one to get, also Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, and a whole bunch o' classic stuff from GOG.

You haven't even mentioned the specs. Obviously you state it's a gaming computer but really, our imaginations can only take us so far. :p

I recommend:

Bioshock series
Assassins Creed 1 and 2
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
Limbo
Half Life series
Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines
Skyrim (dem mods)

Its going to be several months till BF4 and considering I havnt played it I actually cant recommend it because I dont know if its going to be good or not. It probably will be, but I dont know that for sure. Multiplayer focused games always have the chance of getting dead servers eventually too, thats just the risk of older multiplayer titles you take. However with Bad company 2 theres also an excellent single player campaign that has several good laughs in it. Ill never forget "Gonna save me some cheerleaders"

I agree with Vampire the masquerade bloodlines. Its old but still an excellent game.

Since its rarely mentioned and one of my favorite classics you should also check out the descent series, besides retrovirus, its still the only full axis FPS I know of.

Freespace 2 is also great if you want a more spaceship flying style game (plus the mod scene is stills somewhat active and you can get Freespace 1 as a mod for free)

Knights of the old republic (which is arguably the best star wars game made yet) is also pretty good but its a lot less actiony and more strategy.

Star wars: Republic commando is also worth a look as a great squad based tactical FPS. I wish more tacitcal FPS worked like it does

Thief 2 was also a great stealth game. I never played the rest of the series so I cant comment on how good/bad it is but thief 2 is a really good stealth/action game

You should also play Deus Ex which is one of the best PC FPS to ever come out. The graphics are dated but its still an amazing game

Advent rising. Unique story, excellent gameplay, a little buggy now and then but better then most AAA games that are released today. Just get it. Its a shame we will never get a sequel though

Finally if you want a great horde mode game get Killing floor. Its the best on the market IMO

You did mention LoL twice but post a steam ID for Dota 2 if you'd like it. Were I you I'd play what I have and pick up whatever strikes my fancy in Steam's Summer sale, which will happen soon.

I'd also suggest Skyrim or Oblivion. Both are pretty damn good with mods (and there are plenty of them).
You might also wanna try Smite as someone else suggested. It's really cool and different enough from LoL or DoTA2.

You seem to like F2P games, so you should give AirMech a chance. It's only a couple of hundred megabytes and it's AWESOME! It's a MOBA style game with mechs that turn into awesome airplanes and helicopters.

Since you pointed out some MMOs, have you tried Star Wars: The Old Republic or Neverwinter? Both free to play. The former can be played sorta like a single player campaign in the Knights of the Old Republic universe (which you definitely should play too) and different classes have different stories. Then there's Neverwinter, which is based off Dungeons & Dragons and is currently in open beta.

Alternatively, if you're looking for something more urban gothic, you got The Secret World, another MMO, which has a very cool classless system. Plus has some of the most interesting quest types in a MMO today, like investigation missions, where you solve mysteries and puzzles and (sometimes) google.

ive been trying to get some new players into a classic rts tactical game called myth 2. If you are serious into your multiplayer and like a challenge then this is the game for you. I recently made this video so I hope you enjoy it. There is a tournament *(the myth world cup) coming these two weeks so its kind of like my mini-promo to get old and new players back into the fold.

You can get the game off ebay for like 10 dollars or less. There are no cd keys and the game is 12+ years old so your not going to need a lot of specs. If your one of those gamer that judge a game by graphics then I woudnt bother, I probably woudnt want you playing as well as the community either. The community is community run bungie gave it up in 2001 so there is few rules in terms of language ect. Its quite colorful in the lobby a word of warning and to be honest I find it more enlightening and competitive for players.

we do really need to know specs tbh. a gaming computer isnt really specific. that could by anything from a windows xp with 2.7GHz, 2 gigs ram and 750 mb gpu (my last computer) to having a windows 8 with an I7 cpu with 2 SLI Titans and 32gb ram (i dont have that but my god i wish a did)

but any way i would highly recommend The Witcher 2, any Bethesda game, Total War games.

also my i ask why you refuse to download Minecraft or CoD?

Farcry 3, Blood Dragon, Tomb Raider, Devil May Cry or Bioshock Infinite if you like gorgeous eye candy games with great gameplay.

Xcom Enemy Unknown and Civ V if you're into strategy

Minecraft is a time burner with no story, I already have League for that.

Call of Duty is an adrenaline pumper FPS that is all around good, but I really don't want to support those people -.-....At least for full price. If the steam summer sale gets my back, cool. But, I am going to pick up Battlefield 3 instead.

Ill give yall the specific specs in a bit, but I know I run an AMD Quad core, cannot remember how many gigahertz. I run a sapphire raedon 6770 gfx I think, I do not remember. It has 4 gigs of memory, windows 7.

If we?re talking mostly quick-paced and action-packed games, I would have to concur with ?Far Cry 3?, the new ?Tomb Raider?, the ?BioShock?-series, and the ?S.T.A.L.K.E.R.?-series. At a stretch ?The Witcher 2? and ?The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim?. I myself is a fan of the ?Dead Space?-games, as they have that gritty science fiction quality that, for example, the ?Mass Effect?-series lack (although those are very good as well).
To mention something not on this list that is very first-person shooter, the first thing that springs to mind, is ?Metro 2033?. Play that with Russian dialogue and English subtitles (if you are not Russian or Ukrainian, of course). I would imagine that the follow-up ?Metro: Last Light? released later this week will only have polished its meritorious qualities. You should also consider ?Mafia II?, as it is a wonderful amalgamation of racing and third-person shooter with a very engaging story, as was its precursor.
That?s all I could think of to write at the top of my head.
