Just got a ps3! What have i missed out on?

Yakuza 3 and 4 are excellent games. Valkyria Chronicles is wonderful from the looks of it (haven't played it yet, just ordered it from Amazon), Medal of Honor: Frontline is probably the best World War II shooter ever and its got a HD-version on the PSN.

Whatever you decide to play, don't be one of those people who starts a series like Resistance or Uncharted with the second or third game. There's some exceptions, but at least with Uncharted, Resistance, Ratchet & Clank and Infamous, you gotta play them all and in order.

Played through Uncharted 2 multiple times and never intend to touch 1. Not giving a fuck.

I second this. These two games are great.

Mod Nation Racers is basically Mario Kart without Mario - but WITH the option of designing your own characters, your own karts, and even your own RACE TRACKS, landscaping and all! And you can share it all online.

3D Dot Game Heroes is something of a niche game, part homage to the first Zelda game on the NES - and part parody thereof. In keeping with the visual style of gaming generations long past, everything in the game is blatantly made up of brightly colored blocks. The whole thing actually looks quite similar to Minecraft.

The blocky world is enormous, richly varied, and every bit as fun to explore as various old-school incarnations of Hyrule. And because everything is made from simple blocks, the developers threw in the option of building your own protagonist from SCRATCH! [small](And blocks.)[/small]

I second this. These two games are great.

Interestingly enough, there's enough customization options present in Modnation to make Mario and his cart (I think...you can definitely make Wario's purple hot rod thing). Personally, I made several Marvel Super Heroes, settling on using The Silver Surfer. Although I was more pleased with my Punisher (who I made in Saint's Row the Third)

There are many many games already out that are awesome like GoW, MGS, Resistance, LPB, INfamous, Motorstorm, Heavy Rain, Ratchet and Clank, etc..

Also if you want a good game to check out your sixaxxis you can pick up Heavenly Sword for about £5 nowadays... well worth it.
