Well, Microsoft sure knows how to hit the nail on the head when they stated that it will be "The hardcore gamers" who adopt the Kinect first. I can't think of a more hardcore crowd then Bieber fans.

This has got to be the best ad idea ever.

MS chances of having a success with Kinect just got a whole lot better. Poor girls that are gonna buy this. If Bieber likes it, it must be great.
i hope thats sarcasm

Not only is it a bad target audience but it's also not going to help me get a 360/kinect. So I'd call it a lose lose. Now if they got Will Ferrell or Lebron James to promote it, that would send me to the nearest costco and buy both of them up.

I really couldn't care less, though it seems Bieber is "showing off" as kids today would only know how then to convince his loyal audience (Damn, there have been many loyal audiences lately) to buy his seemingly-endorsed product.

Can't say that influence's much though, so on an unrelated note how many other's like waves of screaming girls sounds like helium-induced television static?

good fuck, now Kinect´s worth just dropped by 149.99 $
So now it's officially worth $-149.99! Microsoft actually owes us money for this lurching monstrosity.
Let's not be too hasty with endorsements. Remember when Sarah Michelle Gellar convinced us to eat at Burger King?

HEY ASSHOLE!

Justin Bieber sings everything live, and is one of the best legitimate singers of the decade, I'm not going to listen to you bash him!

LOL! I'm screwing with you, props for having the guts to burn Bieber like you did, as if I needed any more reason to stay away from the Kinect.

(I wonder how many people are going to report me for this because they only read the first line of the post...)

Guys you shouldn't hurt her feelings! It's a very delicate moment in a girls life!

Naaah I had to get that out of my system but yeah Justin Bieber fans are the only ones stupid enough to buy this product.

A brilliant way to promote it to its casual audience. Also a brilliant way to alienate any hardcore fans.
Yep, that's what I thought. Probably going to be wasted ad money though as the entry cost to use Kinetic without already owning the console is pretty damn steep :S

Well, I assume that it's a good advert - I'm not wasting 4 mins of my life checking it out ;)

If Microsoft had a soul before, then now they've officially sold it to the devil...

It's an advertisment technique used nearly all the time!

A business will get a celebrity in their ads.
The idea is that the viewers will think "oh he has that, it must be good" or anything similer.

Examples
There was the 3 sports guys [footnote]one of which I know was Tiger Woods, I do not recognize the other 2.[/footnote] and Gillette.
There was David Becham (I think) and the sharpie permanent markers.

Edit:
Oh ho ho.
I just had an interesting observation.

The Escapist Staff know that the majority opinion in the escapist is that Justin Bieber is horrible and he sucks etc so they bias their articles to appeal to us.

Disclaimer: I do not like Justin Bieber, I just like neutral news.
Or maybe the writer just hates Bieber, because this is also the INTERNET.

Or are you trying to give me a friendly warning, that this product absolutley does not need to be in my house? I... could you not have gone for somone more likable? Hitler maybe?

Do his fans have 360s? Would they buy one for him? Don't answer that.

This will either gain Microsoft monies beyond their wildest dreams, or will make Kinect an unmitigated flop.

Does anyone know why they changed it from "Natal" by the way, which sounded at least more professional and less gimmicky?

And on another note, being a member of Justin Bieber's "crew" sounds like an odd job - how on earth do you go about getting those kinds of jobs? Come to think of that, how does anyone?

"I'd like to apply for the post of 'minion' please."

You never see the giant bureaucratic processes going on in the background that recruit these people to all sorts of jobs. I wonder if they get a Human Resources Rep...

I already knew I wasn't going to buy the piece of shit anyway (how well did the eye-toy work out?). I just appreciate the lulz watching Bieber's dancers walk out after he steals their 360 from them. I'm definitely never letting that little monkey anywhere near anything I own, especially my money.
