Always was a great show, though I doubt the kid's merited the massive and apparently ever present hatred of him; He's just some run-of-the-mill teenage idol for girls to obsess over until the next thing comes along after all.

I'm surprised that panel of Cthulhu kicking down a Synagogue hasn't garnered more attention from the whinier parts of media commentators though.

But you're at fault too for missing the reason the vast majority of us hate him. He's getting incredible amounts of fame, money, publicity, and women, with literally no effort.

Think about it. It's completely within their power to manufacture a celebrity (just grab some pretty-boy off the street who can, kind of, sing, and spend lots and lots of money on promoting him), so they do it instead of spending money on a legitimate talent that we won't all forget about in three years, just to show us that they can.

Then they make millions of dollars off of their blatant exploitation of our culture, because young girls will always drool over the popular, good-looking, wealthy guy (Can you blame them?), and the rest of us give them lots of free publicity because we can't stop whining about him.

I think it's more Cartman's usual anti-semitism at play. Not that all the Abrahamic religions and their discriminatory bullshit couldn't use a good ol' Cthulhu kick to move into this day and age, but I'm pretty sure Cartman's motives are less than wholesome.
