She was at the Isle of Wight...Is the Isle of Wight even part of the UK?
More importantly, she was at

[HEADING=1]BESTIVAL![/HEADING]

And she drew a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge crowd. I know. I was in it.

The festival was almost entirely white, but that only works against her opinion. She comes here, performs to 42,000 white people who cheer her on, then encounters one at an airport who insulted her for queue jumping.

Seriously, just don't queue jump here. That way we won't need to smash your kneecaps in. Really, she got off pretty lightly.

Does no-one else see the hypocrisy of a US citizen calling the UK racist?
Wait, she was at Bestival!?

The same woman who made that godly abomination Milkshake played at the same festival as the legendary PJ Harvey.

...Oh dear lord! What is this world coming to?

That shit is reserved for T4's party on the beach, or the under age festival.

Don't forget the beach boys and village people. Man that was fun.

Only racism I see here is Kelis towards England. I hope she stays out to be honest.

Lots, from all angles, most vocally from the black "community" (in quotes because we haven't had a real one since Dr King Jr died). A majority of us use the term "African-American", which I find to be the second stupidest term ever created ("Nigga" being the first). That would be like a white American calling themselves "European-American". One of worst parts about that term is it puts African before American, which imo suggest that you're not really an American, but some African who just happens to be in America. It's one of those PC segregating terms I would love to see disappear.

Forgive me for the mini rant, but it's a part of an ongoing problem in our country (the USA's schools misrepresenting racial history from the 1700s and up, black history month, etc). Hypocrites like Kelis only serve to push us further and further back in this country, keep the issue swept under the rug, and keep our nation divided.

Something is very wrong when Glenn Beck's audience know more about black people than most black people do:

I'm going to be truly honest, my parents and grandparents are all racist, but not necessarily malevolently racist. It's more a case of ignorance, in that racial diversity is still sort of unusual to them. I also admit that, when they're saying things that could be construed as racist, I sit there in silence. My brain is screaming at them in anger and pounding on the inside my skull in fury, but I still remain silent, because I'm fairly weak when it comes to challenging my parents.

I find it a little hard to believe that a guy at a check-in desk of a major airport started laughing about a racist joke.

As for the other guy, he's hardly the entire country. As for the queue, this is England. They move they lose their fucking spot for good!

One man was responsible for the "Burn the Quran" day. ONE MAN. Not "Americans." Just one asshole. Gay people in America are not treated as fairly as they should be--by a long shot, but the only people calling them "Scum" are a small group of crazy, religious zealots. And no, it's not okay! No one thinks it's okay except the aforementioned crazies.

You're saying that generalizing about an entire country due to a small group of idiots is wrong, and then generalizing about America because of a small group of idiots?

I'm not sure why people are getting worked up about the ravings of a "singer" whose greatest achievement is to get her milkshake to bring all the boys in the yard (whatever the hell that is supposed to mean).
If I had to guess I think "milkshake" means lady parts :3, either that or she's literally shaking and people like it. (+10 for stating the obvious)

OT: You can't judge a population on such a small sample size.

It was only last month that people were rioting because a black person was shot by police, that shows that the UK are total racists. Sure we have our fair share of skin heads but that is a small minority. Also who the fuck is Kelis? come back when you're on daybreak. It's also a bit racist saying that the UK is racist.

The day people start caring what Kelis thinks is the day that we have a lot more to worry about than some racism.
this, really people have some common fucking sense.
low rank pop singer makes a broad scandalous assertion in attempt to boost the amount of people know they exist, news at 11.

One man? Erm, I think there was more then that, double check the articles and news reports, they arrested several who actually did burn a Quran.

Then we have the ruckus surrounding Obama that can't be shoved under the carpet, the assassination attempts, Fox news and their slander, we have several racist attacks, need I go on? When I said "Americans" I wasn't referring to all Americans and sorry if it sounded that way, I was pointing out the fact that there is racism in America too by Americans and in most cases what we hear from over there shocks us because its almost alien to us,, that's not to say that we don't have racism, of course we do, but like Kelis said herself, its swept away, people keep hushed about it, and to be frankly honest, if they don't say it to my face, I don't care what they think, but the jokes made about the Japanese winning the female world cup against the US, the jokes made about the Tsunami, the hatred and fear of all muslims (again with the generalizing), those are the sort of things that popped up on OUR news based on the US and it was shocking for people here, then you have Kelis coming over and saying we are basically more backwards in regards to racism then the US, which is almost hilarious, especially when I've heard the things said about Mexicans.

Still, the entirety of America isn't racist and Kelis is silly if she thinks we are all that way inclined. I think I'd know, I've lived here longer then she has.

As a American, i see this and this is what we need. I will add, one knee jerk reaction now a days is white people want to write blacks out a history. Not true. We have a victim society pretty thick here. If your black, there were no "free" men till Lincon, not a single willing dark skinned African who willing came here and was part of the founding. THEY write themselves out, to of course, remain innocent victims who need to be given gifts today.

Only victims and slaves. That is used today to fuel white guilt, while same time painting anyone with white skin, as the oppressive slave families. No one cares to mention first slaves in the USA were Irish... no one cares many whites didn't show up till slaver was long dead and over.

But white skin= bad, dark skin = victims.

Who gets the college funds? The educational loans? Big tip, not the white guys.

As for the spoiled no talent Milk shake girl... she comes from being surrounded by a society if a white person speaks harshly to a black, they sue, they scream they are 10x racist back and no one can say anything because...victim race. 200 years after it's over and they expect to be treated as kings while being allowed to be racist with no consequences.

Eh I'd write her off as a spoiled idiot thinking she's superior, cause of how she's raised. Pay her no mind.

I'm absolutely loving this.

Every time an American is in the news for anything, everyone goes;
"Well herp derp. That's America for ya! Fat, stupid, gun loving, sister fucking rednecks!"

But when an American says something like "UK is racist" it's;
"Well how dare you?! You can't judge an entire nation based on one asshole!"

Fucking love it.
Well she didn't obey a certain UK custom.

Thou shall not budge in the queue.

It's actually considered extremely rude in the UK. She should of abided by our customs. There's no wonder she got shouted at. It would be the same for anyone including me, and trust me i have been shouted at for it by complete strangers in the past.

I mean, if I went to the US, I won't be suddenly jaywalking everywhere, because it's extremely rude to (and illegal too). Even though it perfectly alright to do that in the UK abiet very risky, especially in London, and other crowded cities. Though, I admittedly do it quite a lot, see their's some cultural differences right there! Something that Some of you Americans (like Kelis) fail to grasp at.

Racist towards skin color?
no that's not what i think of when i hear "UK racists"

however, insulting other countries and people from those countries, that I could see.
that happens a lot in my experience. more so than from people in other countries.

I also gathered English people believe a lot of stereotypes from my time there. Every time I spoke or explained "I'm American" people were supremely shocked by my "lack of an American accent" or that I DIDN'T believe an English stereotype and had a general knowledge of the local area.

Yeah, its the Thames river. why is it surprising I know this? And there's Parliament. I can know stuff you know.

its not specifically 'hatred' racism. More along the lines of a kind of ignorance. Like if someone genuinely believed that all black people jump high, listen to rap, and love fried chicken and watermelon.
