Some backstory first. Hopefully it will help decipher the problem:
I got my computer almost two years ago through Newegg. It was brand new. It was a Black Friday deal that came with a keyboard and a mouse and the keyboard is pretty cool; it has volume control and shortcut keys for when you use the interwebz and stuff. It took me a couple of months to set it up and once o did, I noticed that whenever I typed, my sentences did not make sense. It's been doing that ever since back then but I've been moving in and out of places ever since so I just thought I just hadn't installed something properly and that once I hook it up correctly, it would work. But now I know that's not the case.
So let's say I'm trying to type the following sentence: "The dog runs across the street". If I try to type it, it would probably read something like "street the across runs dog the". The cursor moves back to the beginning of the sentence for no reason! And I could be miles away from the mouse and have it unplugged and it still does it. Sometimes it will allow me to type one or two words that make sense, then boom. Beginning of sentence or a space between paragraphs. It also likes to type things for me in the search bars so for example, if I type "How..." And then a space, it will decide that I am looking for, I don't know, "Howard Hughes" or "How to operate a jackhammer" or something random like that. It doesn't matter what program I'm using; it will do it every single time...although for some reason, with Notepad, it does it less than anywhere else. It's still an issue, though.
This is a desktop, not a laptop so it's not the touchpad that's the problem, like people have told me. I have run antiviruses perhaps thinking something is wrong with my computer but nothing has come up. I have tried plugging the keyboard in different USB ports and nothing. I'm about to head out and buy a new keyboard but I doubt that's the solution. The computer is perfectly fine, except for the fact that I can't type anything (I'm typing this from my phone).
I'm not very computer savvy. I e tried looking online for solutions but apparently, mine is an isolated event or something. Anyone knows how to fix this?! It's driving me crazy! Thank you in advance.
