Because when people see these sort of things, they're thinking old men marry young girls for sex and the young girls marry the old men for money. When an old woman marries a young man they're thinking... sex? And when a young man marries an old woman they're thinking... money?

It's generalized role reversal and it does give pause as it probably does not apply anywhere near as accurately in such situations.

Really? Is it because when a celebrity marries someone way older or younger than themselves, someone feels the need to tell other people? What if someone who isn't famous does the same thing, and let's face it, people do this all the time, is it alright? Why hate people for doing what people do all the time, just because they are famous?

For the reason that, just because they're famous, I apparently need to know about, along with the rest of the world. They're no different from regular people, they just appear on TV and movie screens. The public obsession with them is insane and I honestly don't care for them. As long as they're not doing anything to end this obsession they're part of the problem.

Also, there's the whole buying worthless, unneeded mansions and spending their money on other unneeded shit...

Good point, but still, it's better to just slap the people who keep telling you about celebrities instead. Most celebrities don't do much to get in the media, but just go about enjoying their money and/or status, which you can't really fault them for. Most they can really do is to ignore that people are watching them seeing as those that try to get or avoid attention are those that get most of it.

I've never cast serious eyes at any woman more than four years older than me and most of my girlfriends plus my ex-wife were a few years younger.
