Note: This is not on any legit news and it probably won't get to big but it seems like it would make a good discussion.

Yesterday in my science class we were talking about a test we were going to take today and how we would have to share our opinions on spending tax dollars on studying space, which kinda went to the economic crisis. Before we could even talk for about a minute on the economy, a skin head right wing activist stood up and shouted "Cause that damn Obama!" (quote might be a word or two off, I can't remember every little thing) and was immediately sent to the office for a talking to. Today I found out that he was expelled from my school. After school I went onto MySpace to find that he posted a bulletin saying that he's getting an attorney. That's all I know.

Now a little about this kid. He is a skin head, a right wing activist, constantly getting into trouble, always disrupting class and probably would have eventually gotten expelled from something much smaller that disrupting class. I don't think he will take any legal action or if he even has a case but, I just wanted to tell my side of the story before anything happens.

Do you think this kid should have gotten expelled or does he have his right to freedom of speech? Let me remind you that this wasn't just another kid in the school, he is a skin head right wing activist and would have gotten expelled sooner or later.

Edit: Also, a couple of month ago, a girl in my English class got sent to the office for refusing to do the Flag Pledge (not expelled, just got yelled at). And last year another kid got expelled for bringing a chemical bomb to school. To bad he couldn't made the bomb correctly, all it could do is give him some intense burn on his hands.

Its things like these that are hard for me. I mean, Freedom of speech is good, but I strongly disagree freedom of speech when its used for hatred.

Swearing in school? WHOAH! Gotta draw the line somewhere! I think suspension would be a better case in this situation, but maybe this was the last straw kinda incident?

Expelled for that? Sheesh, he should have just gotten a detention. He should have freedom of speech, but not to yell out in the middle of class.

Well if he would have gotten expelled anyway then what is the problem? Besides I don't think you can blame Obama since he hasen't even been in office for half a year yet.Give him time. His attention has been on other things....Like picking a dog.

Skin head or not, freedom of speech is freedom speech, so no, he should not have been frikkin EXPELLED for voicing his (rather...bold) opinion.

Ha ha I do that in school like every day and yes i think he has every right of freedom of speech (I'm not just saying that because I agree about obama's crappy performance as president)

well i think he pulled the last thread, because he bought something completely unrelated to the topic at hand, and maybe he was expelled for another reason not yet known to you and hes just making a scene. in the end in schools its preventive measures are always better.

if that's all he said then no espeacialy(right spelling?)if he has a reason besides Obama's race, if he added a f*** or 2 there maybe at a strict school a suspension but not expulsion.

Although he IS a misfit:

Expulsion is a little too much for cussing Obama -.-
Especially when people have probably said worse things about him (in class too!)
