I figured someone had the manga "Death Note" and some dumbass thought it was dangerous.

Still, that's pretty stupid. Hell, I used to have a Death list myself, bu I never did anything...

[sup]or did I???[/sup]

It sounds like he's just copying the animie though. You have to write down the dates ofwhen you want the person to die next to the person you want to die's name.

Can people not make that connection?

But that kid deserves about a million + interwebz for naming Justin Bieber, that little shit.

Well it makes complete sense to me.

Also, that lady must be stupid as hell.

"My son wouldn't hurt anyone! He was just writing a list of all the kids that picked on him and wishing them to be dead! He's the victim"

Seriously, get the child some freaking help. Its one thing to be angry at someone and wish them dead, its another to be constantly angry at someone that you carry around a list of wishing them dead.

Highly doubt he meant any harm by it. Still, I would be pretty weirded out, I'd assume he was dangerous or just mental for bringing it into the public.

He deserves +80 internets for having Justin Bieber on there.

They're taking that way too seriously. You'd think someone would know about the anime.

Don't they know it's a cartoon which means it's NOT REAL. No sane person would try and replicate the events depicted. Do adults think middle schoolers are impressionable and mindless drones or something.

"On it contained the names of 8 boys and Justin Bieber." Oh sweet lord I congratulate this kid for the laughs this has just given me.

Ok this could be very serious if people who were written on hit lists started dying however all I can see from it is kids that are venting anger out onto paper instead of inflicting it onto other people. Is that not a good thing (although a bit creepy)? I can understand how it will scare people however I don't think it is all that bad in the big picture.

The kid doesn't need help - it's just a death list. Everyone wishes people to be dead sometimes, it's totally normal.

People always blow crap like this out of proportion. I can't believe they not only called this a "hit-list", but didn't even bother to do a god-damned google search on the name "Death-Note" for the first video. Seriously, this is sensationalism and overreactions on the part of the parents, nothing more. The fact that this even made it to news is atrocious.

I find it even funnier that they confirm the kid is being picked on, but rather than help the kid not be picked on, they'd rather just suspend him due to nonsense like this. Way to help the kid! Way to go creating a positive self esteem in him (something that it's obvious the kid lacks). You're pushing the kid to more likely shoot people because he's going to be frustrated and give up on the system because of shit like this.

If you want to see one possible reason behind why school shootings occur, this may be it.

Sure, its normal to wish someone dead when you're angry at them

However, if you're constantly angry at them and wish they were dead all the time, then that is a problem.

If he had simply written it on the bus while bored/angry that understandable, but carrying it around represents something a bit too fucked up for my tastes.

Either way, the schools decision to suspend him is totally 1000% justified. And the mother should try to talk to her son about his problems instead of trying to place the blame on the bullies. The bullies may never change their behavior, but she should try to get her son to change his reaction.
