err. Here goes:
RPG's for a start.
Arcade/puzzle games / PSN Games
Platform games
Strategy games / Simulation
Fighting.
The 360 has a more varied choice of games
Saying that, i play my 360 about once a week whereas i play my PS3 everyday!
The games that PS3 does have are very good though. i'd pick it over 360 anyday.
Well let me see RPG/Strategy could be solve by the amazing Chronicles of Valkyria.
And Last Guy or Crash Commando for arcade.
No Platform games? Try LBP.
You got me on the simulation one, till they port over flight simulator. (that was a joke)
Well, for fighting games I always go for SFII, it maybe on almost every other consoles. But, I still have fun with it.
Also at least I can play the warriors on the PS3, which unfortunately I can't do that on my 360, due to microsofts lack of patches for old games. So if you really want to find some more in these genres, just skim the PS2 library. Their pretty cheep. (Got Shadow of the Colossus for ten bucks.)
Playing PS2 games? your going backwards.
but yes, the ps2 game catalogue is the best and most varied of any console ever.
So i'll agree with you on that.
You do know that you can play PS2 games on the PS3, right?
On *certain versions* of the PS3. If you buy a PS3 off the shelf today, you can't.

Yeah! i have a launch console.
I do play ps2 games (Final Fantasy X atm) but isn't the idea of a ps3 to play ps3 games!
That's why sony dropped backwards compatibility. But i reckon it was just cost saving!

I disagree.
Even though Killzone didn't sell well it got great reviews.
I think it is a good franchise for the game!
Metacritic gave it a 70.

Functional reviews, but hardly "great".

Fanboy?
I never played killzone! so i don't know.
I just meant that it seems to have made a good name for itself.
If you talk about killzone in a forum most people have heard of it.

That depends if you have a PS2 or not.
Also there are games for the PS3, like Ratchet and Clank, Folklore, Valkyria, Virtua Fighter and there are lots of PSN games.

OK. Lets get something clear.
The ps3 has some excellent games no doubt about it.
I play the PS3 waaay more than 360. I have nothing against it.
Just finished Uncharted! I Am playing mirrors edge and LittleBig Planet atm.
...and i despise the Wii in case someone brings it into the conversation.

EDIT: I am also loving Superstardust HD and Wipeout HD from the PSN!

Okay... Good. Then why did you say that there weren't enough good games, except for shooters, on the PS3?

The first Killzone was a solid game and the addition of that cover system, the online play and the pretty pretty graphics not only have me excited for the sequel, it also has me wishing that PS3s weren't so expensive.

I never have the heart to buy a game console just for one game. Sony needs to give me a few more reasons before I'll think about a PS3.

There just isn't as big a selection as say ps2 had at this stage in it's lifespan.
but the games that it does have are pretty good. Even if some are a little short and not polished as much as they should be.

I hated the first Killzone, and from what I've seen of this it looks like more of the same.
Anybody else get the idea that the Sony is trying too hard to get a good exclusive game?

I don't think so. The first game wasn't THAT bad. Wasn't great, but definitely playable. I guess for all the hype it got and failed to live up to, it NEEDED a decent sequel.

I'm all for game series redeeming themselves though, so I don't think it was the wrong franchise at all.
Let's all pray that history doesn't repeat itself then

Seeing as how they HAVE teh best exclusives no....but from all the videos ive seen no 1 shows gameplay of using the sights on your guns which looks like you NEED to.
Erm... Can you name any Sony exclusives that are better than the Microsoft equivalants?

Might I just remind you all of the original topic? I hardly see how Killzone 2 being incorrectly franchised is the same thing as yet another stupid console scrap.
