You're always allowed to make fun of him. He was just a raging douchebag. No time limit is needed for antics.

Well, this comes as a shock. We thought he was older for one, and also because he was such a cartoony villain.

This has also led us to wonder what his successor, Kim Jong Un, will be like. We imagine that he'll be a crazed nerdy dictator.
"I will declare war on the world, unless I am delivered Action Comics issue number one, printed on cheese with jam as the ink!"

And as a send off, we present these:

I'll be keeping a close eye on North Korea for a while now, as I'm sure every intelligent UN country will be doing as well. This might be one of the most important turning points for Korea since the start of the Korean War.

Also, interesting political fact, did you know that the Korean War is not over, as no armistice has ever been signed, North and South Korea are technically still at war, though they aren't actively fighting, obviously. That is why the Korean DMZ exists.

Apparently his son is even worse. But I really don't care. North Korea fails to scare me in any way, shape or form. "Meh" sums up my opinions here - I'm really only concerned for the safety of South Koreans - but even if it did come to war South Korea and allies would wipe the floor with the idiots.

The Korean DMZ also rakes in millions of dollars through tourism. That's another reason why it still exists.

The biggest thing I'm surprised about is how few people on the Escapist are posting. A sports blog I visit has a thread bigger than these, and that place has a strict no-politics rule. Slow night I guess? Or maybe people are going crazy in R&P...

Anyways this is pretty surprising, I wasn't aware of many health problems too out of the ordinary. It'll be interesting to see what happens now, since NK isn't really that big of a deal

So they're saying he died of "fatigue." They're also probably going to say that his body was carried away by a flock of swans or something.

I suspect it's something to do with this news breaking overnight.

Huh? Wha?

Oh, some idiot died? Not my problem.

BACK TO POKEMON!

Yeah... I don't care.
You don't care that a lunatic in charge of a country still technically at war with its neighbor died? A country that is a nuclear power and tries to provoke a response by launching missiles near Japan and shelling South Korea from time to time? A country that keeps its people in abject poverty while the leaders hoard all the wealth?

It begs the question: why bother posting if you're going to be so flippant about it? Is it supposed to be "edgy" or "rebellious" or something?

Back on-topic, only time will tell if his son will be a more level-headed leader or just as nutty as his dad was. It would be nice if they could at least work out a peace of sorts between North and South Korea.

To be far...that flight of stairs in his house is awfully long. He must have got winded by the third or fourth one and by then...it was too late. D:

Christmas come early! As a former resident of South Korea, I can certainly give my thumbs up to this, and take my place in the line to dance on his grave.

And, hope that things get better up there.

Well, I'm guessing he's gonna be pretty lonely lacking a consciousness. I'm sure in his dieing brain, while he body stopped working, he must of been the loneliness guy around. I can only imagine what went through his head at that time. Oh wait.

Unfortunately this means that there will be no more entries on the 'kimjongillookingatthings' tumblr page! Man that sucks! Those pics were all to good for a laugh!

Kim Jong Un will also suck as a leader... Unless he suddenly realises that there needs to be trade and importing/exporting! The eldest son was passed over for 'being too western'. This kinda shows that The Glourious Leader wasn't prepared to let NK fall after his reign, and therefore just groomed his younger son to essentially be another him!

Will be interesting to see if is son is as still as trigger happy as he was when they shelled the disputed island last year...!?

yeah, i heard about this earlier. I had/have nothing against him, and even though people didn't like him, he was/is still a person, and his death was/is unnecessary, even if it was by train wreck. death needs to be avoided, and no one should get to decide who lives or dies, for there are always unseen circumstances, and we do not know the wheel of fates. I think this world might have been better if he didn't die, because the next ruler of North Korea could be worse, and Kim was doing a good job, the entire country was stable, and in good working order, it was efficient. people may have seen him as a tyrant, but he was just keeping things running efficiently.
