Well, just got my Christmas present early.

My paranoid (superior) side thinks that either a Task Force or an assassin working very closely to Kim Jong-Il killed him. I'm pretty sure there are drugs out there that can intentionally induce a heart attack.

Like I said, any "threats" made by China were in response to damaging action by America and the sheer antagonizing size of their military.
This has absolutely nothing to do with my point. Nothing. Zero. Zilch.

I never said that China threatened South Korea and the USA for no reason. I simply said they threatened them. It's you who is reading too much into it and assuming that I'm implying that China are bullies. I'm not implying that at all - I have no problems with the way China has acted during the whole North Korean conflict thing recently. No problems at all. All I said is that they made empty threats. Which is a fact.

I was just pointing out that China would never fight a war in the name of North Korea. That would be a stupid thing to do. A poster in this thread thought they would, I explained to him why they didn't - and you intervened with a whole "THE USA ARE THE BAD GUYS HERE NOT CHINA!" thing that I have no interest in whatsoever.

Drop it.

I'm glad he's dead. He was a terrible person and caused unimaginable pain to his entire country. My friend has been into North Korea and he talked to someone who lived there and she said that everyone is scared all the time and he was lucky to live in australia. There were apparently guards everywhere and were pointing guns at him.

Oh who am I kidding? I'll laugh at this no matter who dies. Except me obviously.

He died... and people are actually mourning his death. I really would like to know what he did for North Koreans.

I dunno, since when has someones death managed to shut up the Internet?

See?
PFFFTT Bwahahahaha OMG That is sooooo freaking hilarious.

But seriously 2011 is a bad year to be a dictator/terrorist

I mean 3 guys in one year.

-Osama
-Ghadafi (IDK HOW TO SPELL IT)
-Kim Jong Il

Seriously they're dropping like flies.
Obama must be part Irish cause in all of bushs rule we were never this lucky.
Why is there no revolution in N. Korea, How can you let maniacal baby face retards rule over you.
Well, just look at what happened with Germany. A guy who wouldn't or couldn't even grow a full moustache managed to either convince nearly the entire country that Jews were a scourge to their existence that needed to be eradicated or scare them enough so they wouldn't revolt.

"Meh" sums up my opinions here - I'm really only concerned for the safety of South Koreans - but even if it did come to war South Korea and allies would wipe the floor with the idiots.
No concern for all the poor bastards stuck in North Korea? They're probably in bigger trouble than the South Koreans.
Considering the fact that most North Koreans are in favour of their government and are brainwashed slaves - no. I think it's sad, especially because these people never really got the chance to live a nice life - but I have no real concern for them. They allow this man to be in power.
How many (relatively) objective sources can confirm this? I mean, obviously North Korea will insist that the citizenry love the country. If I were living under a dictator with clear mental instability, I'd probably act like I was a brainwashed slave too. Better that than eat a bullet.
I'd have to strongly disagree with that. If I was living in North Korea and I was aware of how fucked up it actually was, I would do whatever it takes to put an end to my life.

And therein lies the issue. I watched a documentry on this and north koreans are told that outside of their country, things are pretty much entirely shitter. Everyone lives worse than them apparently and only under their great leader is their country doing so well. They are told their country is like an island of civilisation within an ocean of inpurity and barbarianism. They would see you, someone critical of a government in some shape or form (we all are) as weak and your country as basically anarchistic, choatic, and uncontrolled. As far as they are concerned korea is the best thing on the planet and nothing you say or do could change it.

Yeah, I know. The guy I was responding to said that he would pretend to be brainwashed even if he knew how screwed up it was so they wouldn't take his life.
