This. Although Nintendo seems to be abandoning their casual market, as of late.Milford Cubicle said:I think the least amount of "proper" games on Kinect the better. Then hopefully it will die a quiet death and Nintendo can keep that pointless niche of the market.
Pretty much what my reaction to this was, something Peter Moleneux said isn't getting in the final game? Next we can expect the morphing weapons to be left out as well.Icehearted said:Replace the word 'Kinnect' with anything, like say, planting a tree and watching grow, and this is pretty much the same thing he does EVERY TIME HE OPENS HIS MOUTH ABOUT FABLE.Lionhead's Peter Molyneux apparently changed his mind about including Kinect functionality in his upcoming RPG.
Why does anyone even listen to this man anymore? Hell, Fable had things cut that people didn't find out about until after it came out (SURPRISE for you LE buyers, you're not getting half the extra stuff we sold you!).
Seriously, he's the the gaming industry's favorite double-crossing blowhard. Do yourselves a favor, ignore him, and see what actually comes out. Odds are good half the crap he's already promised will be pruned, and what's left will need drastic patching.
Quoted for absolute truth; he said it better than I could. This kind of tech has a lot of potential for real immersive gameplay, for whole new modes of gaming and more. And with Fable 3 leaving its post as the, well, sole ambassador for the core gamer population the 360 thrives on... it's starting to look more and more like at best, it'll be the Dreamcast of this generation; great leading edge tech that couldn't sustain itself in the era it was released in.AndyFromMonday said:Fable 3 was the last chance Microsoft had at marketing their new peripheral to hardcore gamers. I personally would have loved to see what Lionhead could have done with Kinect. I mean, Kinect could have added a whole new level of immersion to the game. Now, Microsoft has to hope that the casual crowd will flock to Kinect. Giving that you also need a 360 for Kinect to work I'm pretty sure the majority of people will just buy a Wii instead.
This is a sad day for gaming. Whether you hate Microsoft or not, you cannot deny the possibilities Kinect will bring to the market. To bad these posibilities will never be exploited to their fullest potential.
Form of, CONSUMER DISAPPOINTMENT!JEBWrench said:I see that in a different light. Clearly, Petey is already making sure that his original promises and hype cannot possibly be reached.
Molyneaux powers, ACTIVATE!
Stealing my thoughts are you? I'll have you stocked in the town square, then carrots for everybody except you but not for throwing those are for eating. If people want to throw vegetables at you they they have to bring them themselves.Rarhnor said:Kinda makes you wonder how they were gonna implement it.
I was kinda hoping for some interactivity in the "making a kid" actions. Hip-thrusts for the win.
