Hmm, well you bring an interresting topic to light, and one that I had not heard before, (though I have heard several others) Deuteronomy as a book was first of all written when the israelites were in the wilderness, (following their famous escape from the egyptians) and due to their punishment, which was brought from God after repeatedly turning away from him and blaspheming him, they were forced to live in the wilderness for 40 years. Now, during this time, several tenents had to be made so that God's children didn't end up making the mistakes again, so laws were passed down to help their children be able to reach the promise land without having to go through another 40 years in the wilderness, including this one. After all, we arent just talking about a rebelious son here, we are talking about one who refuses to obey ANYONE. I'm not saying that the same practices should be upheld today, I'm simply saying that was the reason behind that law, and I would completely uphold it in the same situation. Whereas, the homosexuality charge is not just in one book of the bible, but in several of them, from Lev. 18:22, to 1 Cor. 6:9-10, to Romans 1:26-28. This is a tenent upheld throughout time, and throughout the entire Bible, this is what I meant when I said, "either you follow all of the bible, or you follow none of it, it's that simple." However, if some one wishes to attempt to correct me I more than welcome them.ItsAChiaotzu said:Rex Fallout said:Umm why the attacks? First off I'd like you to show me that verse and second, again, why the attacks? I didnt descriminate against anyone, in fact I openly said that I would tolerate just about anyone short of them wanting to kill me, so why the hate?ItsAChiaotzu said:Do you also follow the Bible when it says that if your child disobeys you, you're allowed to drag them to the edge of town and stone them to death?Rex Fallout said:I happen to be a straight christian guy, and honestly yes it does bother me if I see two guys, or even two girls making out. Course seeing a guy and a girl makeout doesnt necesarily make my day, but its really not that big of a deal.
If I had the power to, and im sure this will confuse alot of non christian people, but I wouldnt outlaw homosexuality, (although I would probably make it so that they could have unions with all the same benefits of marriage except for the actual word.) And before you say, "Thats unchristian like" or even, "Thats not a big deal several churches think homosexuality is ok" first off, the reason I would do this is simple, when the creator made us, he gave us that beautiful gift of life, that gift of choice, sure he wants us to follow the laws he laid down, and he hopes we do, but he gave us that choice to do things that he disagrees with. If we had been made to be his slaves and always agree with him, that wouldnt really be much of a life now would it? Just because I disagree with you doesnt mean I hate you, tolerance is the foundation of the nation I live in. And second, no, you CANT be a christian and a homosexual, either you follow all of the bible, or you follow none of it, its that simple, so no real church allows it.
So to answer your question, yes it would bother me, but thats just me, and even if I were in a position of power I would not attempt to stop public displays of affection, mostly cause its pissin me off what they are complaining about now a days, what with video games, and then that awesome billboard that said, "We're like a cult... just with better Kool Aid." Makes me sick. Course I'm a pretty darn tolerant person so I assume few will agree with me.
Anyway, yeah I can't say I think I'd really mind. I think I'd be a bit of a hypocrite for minding though.

Where in my quote was "the hate", I was merely asking you a question.
Oh, and thank you, I did enjoy it very much.
I don't think you understand me, I do believe that if people should be punished for what they have done, ie. Some mass murderer should be sentenced to death, he killed all those innocent people. However, I don't really see where the two actually cross paths in anything I've said. I'll turn the "cheek", I supppose if you want to call it that, to people who dont believe the same things as me, I can even be friends with them, and live a perfectly friendly peaceful life, why is that so hard to believe? I believe every individual should have the ability to view the world in their own way, of course to an extent, I mean if you start runninng around trying to gather a cult together in an attempt to 'purify' humanity and kill innocent people, then we might have a problem, but other than that I think we're good.Waykunbayk said:...eh? =/
So you believe in 'an eye for an eye' AND 'turn the other cheek'?
If you can somehow worm a compromise out of that utter contradiction, I will applaud you.
(No offence to you personally, just your black-and-white reasoning.)
