A woman captured on CCTV throwing a kitten into a wheelie bin in Britain has been identified and is now due to be interviewed, the RSPCA said today.

The charity opened an investigation yesterday after the footage showed a woman stroking the cat as it walked along a wall before looking over her shoulder and dumping it into a large green rubbish bin.

In the video, taken from security cameras outside a house in the Stoke area of Coventry, the woman was then seen closing the lid of the bin before quickly walking away.

The cat?s owners, Stephanie and Darryl Mann, told the Coventry Telegraph that Lola, who is not yet a year old, was trapped in the bin for 15 hours. The kitten emerged uninjured and is believed to be recovering well from the ordeal.

Today an RSPCA spokeswoman said: ?A woman featured in CCTV footage putting a cat in a bin in Brays Road, Coventry, has now been identified.

?The RSPCA is leading an investigation into the incident and will be interviewing the woman shortly.

?Coventry Police are supporting this investigation and urge the public to leave the matter to be dealt with correctly by the authorities.?

That's sick. People are sick fucks.

At first, I did however think that this was about a cat shitting in a bin.

She's a nutter and this is the most unimportant thing that happened in the whole of europe today. Good thing the news ignores things like all those pesky real life criminals to make sure we know about crazy old baggages like her. High Five!

I have a soft spot for cats so this just eats at me.

I can't imagine there being a worth while penalty for the woman, but still this is just messed up.

Good to hear the kitten will be fine.

I fail to identify any reason as to why the women would have done that.

I'm seriously dumbfounded, not angry or sympathetic, just really confused as to wtf she was thinking. Maybe she hates cats? I don't know, I'm going to stop rambling now.

Yeah, I thought the same. Would have been a rather pointless article, that's for certain. Right up there with "Baby Passes Gas in Car", and "Dog Eats It's Own Poo"!

She probably just has a few screws loose. Very loose.

She needs to have a few knocked loose...

I hate people who are needlessly cruel to animals.

Yeah, boxes of kittens get tossed out of cars about once a week on the main road outside of a town near me.
What gets me is why they wait until they are old enough to be seperated from their mother to toss them. It's like, what sort of fucking sense does that make. Just put them up for adoption, you idiot.

But what can you do. People refuse to spay/neuter their pets, and cannot be fucked dealing with the consequences.
About the only action you can take is to rescue whatever you can.

EDIT: Also, I agree with manythings.
This is a pretty asinine news story.

She has already been found out.

Police are now offering her protection because she has received death threats.

Nahhhh,
Pick her up and throw her in a wheelie bin all night, like she did to the cat.
Then take her out, take her to a field and beat her ; )

What a horrible person!
I don't think I could put a cat (or any living thing) in a bin to die a slow death.

Death threats? And people say she's got screws loose. You see this stuff on the forums all the time. There's always some fur lover threatening violence at even the slightest transgression against an animal.

1) i just want to know WHY she did it, it cant be cuz she wanted to kill the cat, she could have killed it b4 putting it in the garbage bin(that would have been worst though)

2)is she just an asshole what went through her mind at that moment? i mean i know some people are impulsive like "hey lets go swim in that lake" or even "lets go bungee jumping" but ive never heard of " hmm ill take this cat and throw it in a bin"

3) now the kitty smells like garbage, poor kitty...

Saw that, it was pretty bad, certainly unwarranted and random, but at least she didn't kill or even beat the cat. She probably felt she was pulling some stupid prank and the cat would be discovered a lot sooner then it was. Doesn't excuse what she did but doesn't necessarily make this as noteworthy as it has been. Millions of animals all over the world suffer worse then that every day and I just wish people could put as much thought and effort into exposing that as has gone into this so far.
