Death threats? And people say she's got screws loose. You see this stuff on the forums all the time. There's always some fur lover threatening violence at even the slightest transgression against an animal.

I think it's the innocence of such creatures that give rise to such reactions. That cat was not evil or trying to annoy that woman. It does not know concepts as right and wrong, does not live by any human creed or anything like that. Yet that woman dumped it in a wheelie bin. That makes people angry, as it does make me angry.

I wouldn't resort so something as childish as death threats though.

To a lot of people treating a cat in a bin overnight would be equivalent to someone throwing a baby into a bin overnight. Infact there's no reason it shouldn't be seen as the same thing, both feel pain and emotions.
