I saw this on the news. That is one sick ***** to do that to a kitten, to treat it like an item to be dumped.

Disgusting.

i mean if it was say a ten year old or something, i'd think ok that makes sence. Since most kids are terrible poeple. But an old lady should know better.

It might be the first time she was caught, but I bet this isnt the first time she has done it. You'd think the wholesome and nonjudgemental folks at PETA would be all over it by now.

At what point in her thought process did she say 'Oh hey, It would be a great idea to put this cat in the garbage'?

You can't defend that. She's just cruel.

WTF? I'm confused what this was all about, why would anyone just toss a cat in a bin?
And that is why people are having a go at her ;)

Not sure why this was national news. Maybe because of the identifiable nature of the culprit and the way that awareness was spread rapidly through facebook? Slow news day? Maybe it's the 'light' story of the week?

I couldn't help but laugh at that... I just wasn't expecting it. I mean honestly. That's just incredible. If it would have been just some drunk taking leave of his senses then I'd have watched and moved on... But that... That was hilarious.

Cruel yes. Should she be punished. Yes.

But still. WOW....

Hahah.

It's still an incredible video. I wonder what she said when questioned about it.

'I'm sick of them shitting on my lawn'?
To be fair that is a fucking annoying thing that cat owners do, cats are prone to shitting anywhere they want and there's one that keeps trying to kill my girlfriend's guinea pigs every day. (Incidentally if that's your cat anyone here, I am about a day away from drop-kicking it back over the fence!)

Frankly if a cat kept shitting in my garden and the owner took the "that's cats lol" approach I get from cat owners a lot on anything their cat does (protip: if I released a wolf into the streets I'd be a lunatic, your cat kills birds efficiently, shits in people's property, damages cars and wakes people up. Don't be a dick) I'd want to boot the fucking thing, after years of shit on the lawn I can see this woman finally snapping.

Incidentally a 4 year old cat isn't a "kitten".
Two things.

1. Cats will always attempt to bury their poop, in fact they can rarely tolerate pooping somewhere if the ground is too difficult to dig up for burial purposes. Cats like to stay hidden and predators can use animal poop to hunt their prey.

2.Why do you allow a small prey animal outside unsupervised anyway? Just about any predator can easily kill a guinea pig. In fact, cats would probably have the hardest time killing one of all the predators you could reasonably expect to see, a much bigger threat being foxes.

It's fine, /b/ caught wind of this a while ago, and 4chan is known for it's cat support. Justice shall be served... and severely over-served.
Yeah, I was just going to point this out.

It's quite amazing how one person just makes a thread about it asking for info on the woman, and within a couple hours they know her name, her occupation, and where she lives.
Well the 'Dusty' incident proved that when cats are in peril, /b/ will save the day, then go too far.

Wow, but seriously, stupid people do stupid things. I am really glad the cat's all right though.

She has already been found out.

Police are now offering her protection because she has received death threats.

Death threats? And people say she's got screws loose. You see this stuff on the forums all the time. There's always some fur lover threatening violence at even the slightest transgression against an animal.
Thank you!

I do think that such an incident getting air time is absurd overkill. Woman does something stupid and the world collapses around her head. How is that worth a kitten (albeit a cute, fuzzy kitten)?

On the flipside, the fear generated by the death threats is a good enough punishment.

People do this kind of shit all the time... And we still insist that human beings are a rational and civilized species?

By the way she keeps looking around, and how quickly she throws the cat in, then struts off- its not like she went about it very nonchalant. It's like looking at a kid, who suddenly sees an opportunity to do 'something naughty' for the huge thrill of it, or some other fucked up reason, then does it and quickly scoots along

something along the lines of
"oh yea... what a rush, God I'm so bad."
I dunno. This seems like what happens when people repress themselves so much- along with other underlying psychological problems

After reading the post I thought "yeah that's kinda messed up," but when I first read the post title I thought "meh." Escapist forum types probably won't like this but when I was younger and my family still lived on a farm my grandmother was "Death, Destroyer of Cats." Many a times Grandma would round up a couple gross old barn cats and they'd never be seen or heard from again. I also know more than a couple litters of nasty kittens ended up in a burlap sack with a rock and got chucked in the river (downstream of where we went swimming of course). That's what I thought of when I read the title. Oh Grandma.

I fail to identify any reason as to why the women would have done that.

I'm seriously dumbfounded, not angry or sympathetic, just really confused as to wtf she was thinking. Maybe she hates cats? I don't know, I'm going to stop rambling now.
I hate cats and I am confused as to why the woman did it. Maybe she has a mental illness? Or maybe she is just fucked in the head?
