I actually won a 12 inch Rambo knife on eBay. It's the survival edition and comes with a compass in the hilt, waterproof matches, fishing line, and hooks. I can't wait to see how it all fits together. Should be here next week.Furburt said:I have a K-Bar US army knife and a switchblade.
K-Bar looks like this except it has a compass and a mini-survival kit in the hilt, and the switchblade looks like this.
I don't carry them usually, no, I don't want to get arrested and I've never had to get into a situation where I've had to use a knife, here's hoping I don't. I have taken them out a couple of times, but that was if I was in a bad neighbourhood, which I very rarely am.
EDIT: Incidentally, the macho film lover in me would love to get the Rambo knives, although the third one is a bit ridiculous, more of a machete than a knife.
They're mostly for camping or hunting or anything like that. I got them for home defense, but I have a rifle now so it's a moot point.
I wonder why all nerds seem to own knives? Maybe it's a self-esteem thing.
I also live down the street from a pawn shop which is across the street from....another pawn shop, so it's not the best neighborhood and self-defense is a real issue. I carry a knife in my car, but now I'm considering carrying one on my person. Don't get me wrong, I'm skilled in hand-to-hand, but it's not much good against a gun.
