Fellow members of the Escapist, I present to you something.....evil

We have an annoying woman, singing a rendition of one of the most annoying songs to ever be created, all while being a ***** to fellow shoppers and boy, does she asked to be drop-kicked in her giraffe face.

Does anyone share mutual feelings or am I just a crazy person too cynical to deal with commercialism this bad? Do you think this is the worst commercial ever made?(I certainly think so) Also for discussion sake, feel free to try to top me by posting content so remarkably stupid/irritating that it makes you rage.

What sick fucker thought that commercial would be a good idea? I am in awe at the sheer levels of bullshit that commercial reaches.

I have a feeling Kohl's has no idea as to why "Friday" is well known. (notice I didn't say popular).

I was kind of expecting someone to do a "Black Friday" commercial like this. Wasn't expecting it from Kohl's though.

It doesn't make me angry, it just confuses me. That song became popular for the sole reason that it was terrible, not because it was getting radio play or anything. Why would you use it if not to irritate people? The only explanation was that it was deliberately made to be irritating, or that the people who made it didn't know what the song was.

I'm sure as soon as that song went viral, "Black Friday" was the first thing to jump into the minds of ad people. They must just have no self-control.

I don't know which is worse, the fact that Kohls is actively encouraging shoppers to reach into others' carts and steal items, or the fact that Rebecca Black probably got a six figure royalty for that commercial.

It doesn't take a commercial to incite homicidal tendencies on Black Friday. The local Walmart in the city I live in, for example, is always a site of violence on that horrible shopping day. Every year I hear of violent encounters between shoppers over material goods.
Granted, the song is pop-trash and the attitude of the woman in the commercial is just downright bitchy, but it also constitutes the exact attitude of millions of idiot shoppers around the U.S.
Hence why I never bother with Black Friday.

I know damn well that this commercial is an elaborate ploy to get people to shop at Kohl's by using a song popular with little girls and other people who do not know what music is. Above all else, this was a multi-million dollar troll on the rest of us.

Hey looks! A commercial that's totally doing it's job!
Congratulations, by bringing this to everyone's attention, you've now made the commercial do exactly what it's supposed to do: Get you talking about Kohl's. Sure, you hate the song, and even hate the commercial, but so what? You'll tell someone, they'll tell their wife/girlfriend/mom, and they'll remember they need to do some shopping, perhaps they'll goto Kohl's.

Ta-da! Advertising. Does it matter the song is horrible? No. Because people will be talking about it, and that's word-of-mouth advertising you can NOT pay for. Thanks for being a part of the machine!

What we must realise is, that we will never forget this advert. So it has done its job.
Your avatar combined with this message cracked me up.

I'm just annoyed that they put so little effort into that parody version. Talking crap about coffee at the beginning and then "Something that rhymes with Friday" Seriously? Fire the person hired to come up with that parody, because they just wrote the first rubbish that came into their head and had an early day off.

I think "Infamous" is the word you are looking for, not popular.

Perhaps the older lady in the scooter she cuts off in the beginning (and end) of the commercial can run her over . . . . . . repeatedly!

Actually, no. I take that back. The actress probably desperately needed the job (in this economy, after all) and so I merely pity her. The ad executives who approved this are the ones in desperate need of getting run over by that scooter!

I like it. Then again I like shopping for Christmas gifts and I am more of the target audicence for such a commercial.
