Ratings board along with perceived censorship and the artists apparent need to conform their games within the criteria set down by the aforementioned ratings board. Then came the idea of free speech and the need to preserve it and the subsequent example of how free speech is already available though not particularly well used in recent games.

OK OK! I know how we got here, it was meant to be a joke to break the tension, not a large bullseye for you to drop a literacy-bomb on me.

What, and you haven't already decided your position? Despite not knowing the facts? Ie not knowing why the M rating was given to the game? And then you go and base your opinion on things you presumed as factual though you really have no idea? "I think this game is getting a higher rating compared to other games, based on the general impression I get by looking at some but certainly not all games, and also based on the presumption I make about what the content of the game was and the motivations of the rating board".

Lastly how is acting like I love Blizzard hurting my original argument anyway? It's completely unrelated, try sticking to the topic at hand, instead of posting ineffective and unrelated garbage like that last little paragraph.

It's hard to offer too much branching choice in any game, considering the fact that the game would seem very short, since development time would be split along all the branched choices.

From what I've heard the game seemed "very short" as it is.
I realise that branching choice would be difficult but what is less difficult would be to simply have those choices affect the particular mission at hand. What I disagree with in this game is having the player forced to do something that many people, if given the option, would not do.

Which is exactly why they give the option to NOT do it, it tells you like 15 times you can skip it with no penalties

Btw, allegations like the one you're making, they require proof. You see, court systems don't work on the premise that some guy makes an accusation and then the courts try to disprove that. Rather, the person making the allegation presents evidence to support it. So the only onus is on you. Want to make some absurd claim of "corruption"? Back it up.

I read the first line and stopped, I specifically put the difference in parenthesis so that you wouldn't say they were the same thing, but as usual, you heard what you wanted to hear. So I didn't even bother reading the rest.

It's absolutely impossible to have a civilized discussion with you, because not only do you act as though you didn't say things you said earlier, but you simultaneously pretend that I said something other than what I said earlier too! Don't be thankful yet. Given we take a lot of our ratings from how aussie rates we may see something interesting yet, espically given how absolutely odd Australia's law's and censorship ratings have been the last 10 years.

The fact that you used the term "corrupt" with regards to korea is irrelevant. I don't care how prejudice you are or are not. That's not my contention.

What I find absurd is that you call a government, or some department with a government mandate, "corrupt" because they gave a video game from your favourite company a higher rating than you believe it deserves.

I said before, it's a video game, who cares. I mean if a country bans a game, maybe there's reason for people to take exception to that. A reason for people to call for "freedom of speech" and all that jazz. But an age restriction? You think an age restriction is going to really limit sales of Starcraft or prevent younger players from playing it? It may prevent some 17 year old from playing in an official competition but beyond that what's the difference?

So much melodramatics and concern for a company that's ridiculously rich as it is, and will be even more so when Starcraft II hits the shelves regardless of whether korean kids can buy it or not.
