I thought it looked pretty crap tbh... the graphics and voice acting I've seen/heard so far have all been underwhelming to say the least.
I've learned pretty early on that internet forums are not the places you go to find distinguishable judges of voice acting talent.

I know i wont be buying it..

Still Rockstar games seem to sell pretty well.
I hated GTAIV
And Red Dead Redemption... the biggest surprise of the year.
Something about it just made me love it.

Still it never sold all of their games back to me.
Id buy RDR 2.

Dude, please check facts before making this dramatic, fear mongering posts. LA Noire is currently the 3rd best selling PS3 game and the 2nd best selling Xbox 360 game, and it's not even out yet.
Are you up for some sort of retard of the year award?
Maybe you should counter the argument instead of throwing around insults

What? Games have to appeal to one niche of hardcore gamers to sell? I don't think you have a very good grasp on who buys games.

This is the first Rockstar game that I'm actually interested in. I'd rather solve crime than commit it. I hope it's good.

Okay. It's currently the 3rd and 2nd best-selling preorder, not game. There's a big difference. Knocking someone for being dramatic and then saying something as misleading as that made my head explode. I apologize for the insult though, that was too far.

I'm psyched for it. I love seeing Rockstar try something different. Here's hoping it does well.

Thank you, that's the kind of information that I like. I don't care if you insult people as long as the reason why is include

Oh, hi. I didn't know you played L.A. Noire and therefore knew exactly how it played. I also didn't know you represented the "gamer's want".

Get off your fucking high horse before you fall and hurt yourself, kid. Some of us like cinematic experiences in games and find them fun as hell. Heavy Rain was an awesome and engaging experience to play, and I expect no less from L.A. Noire. In fact, I expect more.

THAT IS A HORRIBLE REASON TO PREORDER A GAME.

You won't be disappointed, L.A. Noire is going to be great :D
There are soo many contradictions here, my head is exploding. First off, to be saying how great the game is going to be, yet you chastise someone who gives reasons why he doesn't think it will be great. He never once said it as fact and it was stated as his opinion the whole time.

Secondly, to tell someone to get off their high horse when all they did was explain an opinion of theirs, yet you tell someone else that their ways/reasons for doing something is terrible. (sidenote: I trust and enjoy Haribo with their gummies. If I learn they're putting out a new gummy, I'll buy it without knowing the flavor. Exceptional production and trust allow me that bold decision.)

If they made a PC version PC gamers would be all over it. We love to try new things.
This. The PC gaming crowd is almost tailor-made to gobble games like these up. Excluding them may have destroyed a huuuuuuge segment of people ready to buy it. I know I would've jumped on it the moment it hit the shelves (or Steam, more likely) and I know I'm not remotely alone.

I'm definitely looking forward to it. I love story-driven single player titles so this game is right up my alley. Partner that with all of the detective work and the fact that not every mission will be a shoot-out, and I'm sold.

I'm sure it will sell just fine. It has the Rockstar logo on the box, that will grab people's attention.

To those who said there hasn't been much of an ad campaign (I forget who, and am far too lazy to go back and find the posts to quote them), I obviously can't speak for other countries, but over here in the UK, maybe it's just been me but post watershed ad breaks seem to be littered with LA Noire commercials, so they certainly seem to be pushing it hard here.

Anyway, Red Dead turned out to be a surprising juggernaut in terms of sales, so I see no reason for this not to do similarly well. And seeing as I loved that and GTA IV, and given that the whole concept of "here's a body, find some clues dipshit and figure this out already, retard" (I'm not paraphrasing) is exactly the sort of thing I enjoy, I'd be very surprised if I didn't feel the same way about LA Noire. But we shall see. Although I'm too lazy (again) to have pre-ordered, when I bought Red Dead, my local Game store had gotten too many of all the pre-order codes and gave one to me for free. Touch wood if I can get there from work before they close on release day...

It was Number 2 on Play.coms pre order chart, then moved to Number 1 when MK came out. So i think it'l do just fine.

He stated, as fact, that games like L.A. Noire and Heavy Rain are ruining the video game industry. That's bullshit through and through. That isn't opinion. That's fact. The industry is thriving.

As for how I told him it was a horrible reason to preorder a game, apparently you didn't read the second sentence of mine. You know, the one you quoted there? When I told him/her he/she wouldn't be disappointed?

It was a fucking joke. Chill the fuck out.

Twas me, and yeah, it must just be in the UK. We aren't getting much of it here. Maybe it's just my area of the states? Ah, well, glad to see it's getting a lot of attention over there.

Shit, I'm gonna buy it, I love the concept of a real detective game and I'm purposely making sure to read very little on the finer details so that I have the maximum experience possible when I play it.

I'm very much looking forward to it.

I'm waiting on a review. Or a demo (unlikely).

It basically comes down to whether or not there are multiple endings to the investigations. I want to be able to screw up an investigation and still continue the story. Otherwise it just becomes a glorified scavenger hunt.

It's the difference between an interactive detective drama and modernization of the classic adventure game. I don't want to have to sit there rubbing every bit of evidence in every witness' face until it lets me continue. Let me experiment. Let me screw up.
