Saying Lol in a conversation means you spend too much time on internet. It also shows how cynical people are when using it. If you say Lol and are not laughing you didnt find it that funny. So I guess 90% of the times people type LoL or lul are just being kind of polite when they actually mean, yeah, whatever...
Aye. Sort of like, meh. Because physically laughing is actually caused by something you find humorous. Whereas saying lol is just.. .well... saying it. So yeah... what you said :p

It is more the people who use it than the actual term. If lulz annoy me then it is the person lol-ing.

I dont have a problem with it as long as they dont go: ZOMGROFLOLWTFBBQ
A simple LOL does not not bother me in the slightest, all those 'newer' variations are something for kids, kinda like 1337-speak was a few years ago

I hate it when people just say it.But it can be forgiven if the person says it while laughing.

I only use it ironically or in situations when i catch someone doing something "nerdy"
"you are sooo nerdy----LOL!" to show that i am not really making fun of him/her.

I only use it in order to mock it, never to commend someone on their wit.

The only internet acronym I'll allow the use of in casual conversation is "WTFuck" And you have to say "WTFuck" "WTF" is still stupid.

There's this guy that thinks he's friends with my group of friends. He always says "Huhu.. That was lulz". It destroys the funny. So yes, I hate it.

My sister constantly uses chat abbreviations in real life. I have to admit an occasional 'lol' will escape my lips (shortly followed by a curse as I realise what I just said). But my sister doesn't care and constantly uses them. Butchering the english language. Not to mention verbalising emotes (sadface, happyface, XD, etc). That's even worse.

I refuse to type the "word" lol. It's just lazy and stupid. What's wrong with "Ha ha"?

And I never even heard it in real life but it scares me that some people might actually say that.

It doesn't really bother me, but I almost did it once in a voice chat. It was one of my first ones, and a few guys were typing cause they didn't have mics. I read one of thier statements, and it made me laugh, and where I would normally type that in, I just said "LOL." Then I caught myself and found it hilarious and cracked up again.

I hate when people do that. I know someone who used use lol, atm, jk, and more in everyday conversation. I say used because we had an intervention to make him stop... thank Zeus.

I dislike it when texting speech is used in real conversations.

I only ever use lulz as a verb, example:

Person A: "Why did you call the FBI on him?"
Me: "For teh lulz..."
