Don't say it IRL, but occasionally i'd say 'I lol'd.' or 'for the lulz.' (If the people in my presence have an idea of what i'm going on about)

I try to avoid as best I can but sometimes when I'm supposed to respond to some random statement and have nothing to say I say "lel". And it doesn't really mean I'm laughing. It means anything. :D

I get annoyed when pop culture catchphrases are overused. I'm guilty of using the term awesome too much.

I was annoyed when the phrase, "NOT!" was popular when I was in high school, and "Yeah, right!" Both from Wayne's World I think. And my older brother drove me up the wall last year because he apparently became fond of the term, "Meh." He used it constantly. I'd say something like, "That movie was pretty good," and he'd say, "Meh." I felt like throwing a wet sock at him.

But yes, saying lull or lol in real life is kind of strange. I don't care when people use it online unless it's overused. There are not very many ways to get across that you liked someone's joke. Lol is just one of those ways.

And I think we should bring back, "Don't harsh on my mellow."

"lol" on the internet sometimes annoys me, but not so much as it does in the real world. Though, to be honest, when people say "lol" in real life settings, it amuses me to a degree because i'm willing to bet that I spend far more time online than those people do.

Also when its spelled "lawl" or "lul" cause its fucking stupid and means nothing, an acronym doesn't mean anything if you spell it wrong.
Actually it means penis in Dutch. Lul does anyway. So when the Anon do stuff "For teh lulz" they're doing it for the Dutch penis.
