Of the people I know, 2 use their PC for gaming and the rest either have a 360 or don't care. There's more money's worth on the 360 for me because it's a completely multiplayer experience. Besides I don't mind too much about the lack of support, like I said it's about who you play it with.
For me, all the people i know game on PC. They could get a console but none of them have except for myself. I don't fully understand your "money's worth" statement, do you mean you only use it for multiplayer and nothing else?
It's Left 4 Dead - there's nothing else but multiplayer in it :p. The only reason you'd buy the game is to play with others, and it's more fun if those others are people you know so it's worth more to me on the console since there's more people I know on there than on the PC. Even if the game's more expensive and the online support is severely crippled, it doesn't matter because it wouldn't be the same experience on the PC for me, as I know barely anyone who'd play it.

The option to make the game scarier/darker by fixing/eliminating the fog. I know there are console commands to do it, but they're only usable on sv_cheat servers, they only apply to the person who types it in, and they play hell with the flashlights and dynamic lighting.

Playing as a normal infected during "respawn" times would be nice too.

Shorter spawn times. I do not need to wait half a minute only to spawn as a boomer, a character whose only purpose is to die again.
The respawn times are fine, if they were any shorter it would fuck the balance of Versus up, the Survivors would never get any rest. Just learn some patience, anyway i find the time useful to plan my next attack.
I know it's for balance. I do not appreciate spending five minutes of the game actually playing the game and the rest watching Bill run around. It wouldn't be a problem if they gave you something else to do.

Maps maps maps maps! The game needs more maps.
This really. The game is absolutely fantastic and I had quite a bit of fun playing co-op and then later adversarial. The content that was present was surprisingly rich - now I just wish there was more of it. I would settle for a near term compromise of enabling adversarial mode in the remaining campaigns for now - that would easily get me a few more weeks of entertainment.

Melee weapons.
What would be the point, by the time a zombie is on you a melee weapon is going to be useless next to guns.
Blades don't need reloading.
Melee attack does exist, I'm just saying a melee weapon would be bad. Sure it could be fun for a bit or be a last resort, but when you have pistols forged by god and supplyed by the clips of eternal bullets then you'd have to pick which one you wanted.

Keeping within the game how can a melee weapon be a good weapon when facing a oncoming horde, a smoker or a tank?

More maps, covered in this thread
More guns, covered
I want to choose between these zombies, and traditional slow-moving zombies that need a headshot.

The game needs the ability to play as, or in some way strategically control, the witch.

levels levels levels...
mainly like a country side...a few cabins along the way but lots of open space and more zombies in this map...a snow map...in a town or something....maybe a little bit more of a panicky situation..like dead bodies and guns on the ground and like bullets holes an fires and shit like that...slowing down the marathon running zombies but make them in largely larger numbers...something you can get worried about when your stuck and not on the move
and some new pistols...like a glock or something...so i dont feel like im playing duke nukem...

And finally, throw in a couple of Half-Life cameos. I'd still love to see "Wake up and smell the ashes" written on the wall of a safehouse.

More boss Infected would be a nice idea the trick is to add somthing to the gameplay, you should add new weapons though if new infected have other abilties like say these ones me and friends ended up making in our conversations during Vs mode thought I would share with you all our findings.

Howler- The Howler takes on the apperance of a human with a frog like throat and his bellowing alerts people of his arrival when he gets close enough he screams at you causing the game to mute itself for a short period. Now the Survivors really do need to work together as they wait to be able to talk again.

Buzzer- This infected takes on the apperance of a strange mutated insect (Think The Fly) it buzzing noise warns of its close arrival but its deadly due to the abilty to fly above the survivors and bring death from above. Obviously this flying abilty won't last for long and then they will need to recharge it. The survivors now need to think about possible air attacks on top of the normal directions assoicated with the Infected.

Pyro- As you might have guessed this one is a walking flamethrower, its gargled voice (which oddly enough sounds like someone wearing a gasmask...) annouces it's arrival before spewing forth a blaze of fire at the survivors at the cost of its own health. The Pyro never lasts long but he doesn't need to the fire he brings forth can easily throw any plans into disaray.

Spider- This crazed infected has elements of an insects armour poking forth and strange tendrills coming out, the Spider can climb on walls and celings but is the opposite of the Smoker. Where as the smoker drags away the Spider forces its prey to stay in place by spraying an adhesive that causes the survivor to stay glued to a spot for a short time It then can attack the helpless survivor.
me and my friend did the same thing...let me share

spitters-the run in fast and loud but puke an acid blood onto its target cuasing you to die if not treated healed...risking a life pack for a team mate or leaving him behind

rage's- an enemy that kills all in its path, and grabs its target by the neck with its hand and keeps hitting you in the face

mad hatters- a human that hasnt quite grasped infected but has phycological problems including laughing an extreme hostility to who ever comes across it...walks and can be avoided.

and finally my favorite/
zogs...infected dogs and wildlife that attack anything if provoked...runs in packs

Not a bad idea, but problematic as many people use voice calls other than in game chat. My friends and I use Skype for example, which wouldn;t be affected by the Howler, and thus we wouldn't be handicapped that much.

Ever since the original Ninja Gaiden on NES I have hated flying bullshitty enemies in video games. So I don't ever want to see this in L4D.

I like the chainsaw idea, and the different pistol with limited ammo, but apart from that the weapons are fine as they are
Some great ideas for levels floating around, maybe Valve should have a good read of this!

itd be cool for the game to have some story. just a little at all. or to have different charachters. once someone is dead...they are dead, next room will have a different charachter skin. that couldn't be that hard to do i men, they dont even develop the only 4 charachters!!
Watch the developer commentaries on how the characters were developed. Each character has thousands of facial expressions and an absolute load of dialogue depending on the situation. Adding more just wasn't feasible.

This is a really good idea. While playing L4D I've wondered "Hmmm, I wonder what this would be like if these were slow zombies?" It wouldn't necessarily be easier - like you said, they could be more durable. And Valve has the level design chops to make good with it - cramped spaces full of zombies that you have to make your way through to proceed, etc.

And I really like the ideas for more survivor characters. Sure, I love Zoey, Francis, Bill, and Louis, but it would be sweet to have more to "replace" them when they die. And it'd be cool to make them fit in with any new levels - like some kind of seedy carny for the amusement park level, for example.

And 1337Mokro - yes, kid zombies would be sweet! There could be a school level!

personally i think that it would be neat if they added more modes. such as

survival:classical--one this mode there are no special zombies, all zombies go slow, there are melee weapons, and much, much less ammo. the player even has to reload clips while others protect them.

instahorde mode--no special zombies, constand hordes.

minefield mode-- no boomers, tanks, hunters, or smokers. not many hordes. many, many withces that are silent.

army of two mode--only two charachters can play in this mode. however two players control one body psi-ops style, in which one person controlls movment and the other controlles looking and shooting.

personality mode--every charachter has their own perk. ex. zoey can reload faster, lous can run faster, bill can aim better, francis has more health.

pistoleroes mode--all charachters can only have revolvers, lomited ammo.

tank survival mode--just for fun

Unless you can quote numbers which you can't because Valve doesn't release sales numbers for years, also thats only retail numbers not Steam sales which they never release then i can't accept that. The PC version has likely sold just as many as the console version if not more.
Again, I'm talking about people I know who bought the game, since I already said that the experience is made better when you play with people you know. I'm not taking a dig at PC sales - it's just that the experience is worth more to me if I can personally play it with friends and, like I said, there are more people I know who'd play the 360 version.
