Well, in reality, I doubt the witch would be that deadly. The only thing going for her are claws, she's very skinny and seems pretty stupid overall. Besides, guns > claws.

Also, consider that she moves now, which is actually quite annoying sometimes. It does maker her less creepy though.

Boomers useless? I take it you never had one explode on a narrow ledge knocking back everybody at the same time and killing us all by doing effectively nothing.

Of course I can my dear. On expert, a Jockey comes in with a ridiculous amount of health for its size and for some reason very powerful secondary attack. It is fast, small and jumps around constantly making it a harder target to hit than most infected. It jumps on you and downs you in a few seconds, depending on how alert your teammates are that is. The spitter, uber-ranged splash damage but thankfully she can be killed with one sniper round. Any tight formation gets destroyed by them. Making them terrible to deal with in a horde. Maybe rigged wasn't the best word, but they are overpowered. Specifically the Jockey.
Good point, but the Jockey is surprisingly easy to avoid if you know it's coming, I found circle strafing around the Jockey to be very effective. Pretty tough to do in a horde though, but I also find it quite easy to shoot a Jockey from a survivor. He's very powerful but only if properly coordinated with, indeed, the Spitter, or the Smoker (one survivor gets snagged, another comes to rescue him, you jump on him when he wants to bash the snagged survivor).

I'm quite happy with the fact that a tight formation can be more easily broken, it was one of my main complaints in L4D, the fact that the survivors could corner camp so easily. Can't do that anymore now, makes Versus a lót more dynamic, a lot more tactics are available for the SE now.

I've had mixed feelings about the witches, on one hand I think there a little bit easier to kill (if you dont scare them at first) but on ther other hand there sometimes hard to see or find even when they wonder around a bit. I hear them (and the CREEPY music) but I don't see her until I found out she was following me or in a conrner somewhere. I have'nt played online yet but so far on single player the specials are alright.
This.

You gotta hate the Hiders...you walk around a corner and BAM! or "I hear a witch cut the lights" and I miss her or never see her

I like playing spitter on verus by standing on top of some incapped, idiot team mates will shot them, netting me tonnes of damage on the incapped dude. And jockey need a health nerf and chargers should have a little bit more health.

Wandering Witches in co-op are better for the survivors; in vs you can wreck a team with a simple charger or jockey and the witch. add the spitter on the incapped person and let there be fun.

I'd have to disagree with Boomers being lame, I managed to save a game of Scavenge by charging the dude pouring gas, and letting his team mates kill me. The stagger made him drop the gas can, in extra time. We won <3

Jockey's are realllllly annoying. It's not just the fact they can completely lead you away from your team mates, its that grinding laugh that makes me hate them. YES I KNOW YOU ARE HERE STOP LAUGHING >_<

Oh, OT: Witches. I felt let down by them. They aren't as spooky :( The only time I felt the old cringe and shudder from hearing a crying Witch was in the Sugar Mill, when there was LOTS of them. Going through the corn field was a barrel of laughs x)

if you don't see a witch and startle it accidentaly, they are evil, if you see it, they are about as threataning as a single special infected.

I will admit that the witches seem to be a lot weaker then they were in Left 4 Dead 1, but that's mainly due to the level rather then the actual witch. Left 4 Deads levels were a lot tighter and cramped when compared with Left 4 Dead 2. By this I mean that you were forced to go through buildings a lot and when a Witch spawned in those tight buildings, she became a lot more dangerous. In Left 4 Dead 2 the Witch will proably either A)wander out of the way and let you guys pass or B)spawn in a very open area that is easy to avoid.

EDIT: Let me clarify, as some people have mentioned how useful the boomer is in versus and expert mode. I play L4D2 on normal or advanced with friends over xbox live. I don't play versus much, if at all. And i'm not suicidal enough to play realism, or expert. Thats just masochistic.
You're answering your own question. You're playing on the easier settings in the easiest mode, of course they're going to be Easy.

The Witch has always been something of a moot threat, although in 2 she's much easier to trigger than one, whihc becomes a problem in advanced and expert when your gunfire noise startles her from the other end of the room.

Witches may seem not quite as dangerous, given how most of the time you can Crown them. However, your saying that you have an 85 success rate. I'm assuming this is with the shotgun. Meaning 15 percent of the time your incaped? That's probably more vicious then the tank. Besides that, however, witches add to the environment and ambiance. A witches cry is kinda creepy, and sets the tone for that part of the level. Even a person very good at crowning will have a few seconds of nervousness when there trying to pull it off. The wandering witch is harder to distinguish from normal infected, and there's been a few times where ive been fighting the hoard, and almost stumbled into a witch. That's definitely dangerous. Also, I think Valve realized that a single wich isn't a huge challenge, and therefore there's the level with dozens of them. That changes play style quite a bit. And lastly, 1 word: Jocky.

Boomers are still dangerous. Its just very dependent on what the rest of the specials are doing. another 20 zombies on a constricted or pinned survivor is dangerous, and so is fighting a tank half blind while getting slowed down by common infected.

Also, you have to love the boomer, what with this. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/left-4-hawp/59506

Actually, I did notice that the witches seemed much easier in L4D2. But that was mainly in the fourth campaign. What's it called....the one after the swamp? I can't remember it's name but all I remember is that there were about 50,000 witches in that level and they all died really easily...
Which is weird, because I found the rest of the game to be surprisingly more difficult that the first game...except that I take L4D2 less seriously in certain parts than I did in the first game, because the hunters seem to miss every time they jump and it's fun when they hit a wall instead. And I laugh a lot when a charger gets stuck in a doorway. Sorry, random comment but it's true. :)

Wow, why does everyone have to imply that i'm a pussy for playing on advanced and not expert? What kind of pissing contest is this? Campaign is not the easiest mode, and i'm not playing on the easiest settings.

And i'm not talking about how easy things are. I'm talking about RELATIVE difficulty. The witch was always the most feared. At least by me, maybe second to the tank. Now the only thing i think is less dangerous is the boomer.

Yeah, you can tell the spitter and jockey were created by Valve just for that very reason.

Hey has anyone startled a witch themselves, only to find out the girl sprinted and incapped someone else?

I've seen plenty of weird things... I've Bile Bombed one, only to have her outrun me, cut across my path, spread her arms as if saying, "Where's your god now?" and proceed to grant a new air passageway to my lungs...

Another time I shot at her, she made a small surprised noise, then JOGGED away crying even harder... its like I actually hurt her feelings and she had to go to a corner or something...

And finally, witch incapped one person, another shot her with explosive rounds, and the witch turned and went after them instead of killing the first...

The witch is a bit unpredictable to me...
