Edit: One more thing, people have been speculating that the new games might have something to do with DNA and genes due to the double helix in the logo. Mewtwo would definitely fit that theme.

Pokemon is the most basic children's entertainment. Are you telling me there are actually people on this site who are interested in it? It's ugly and with zero depth, the games as well which only have repetitive and addictive gameplay to hook you. I just don't get Pokemon.

And thats the part where I come in.

Pokemon at this point is FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR from a child's game. It has alot of marketing and a TV show, but Mario had those at one point and no one calls it childish anymore now do they?

Don't get it? Thats an entire site towards playing Pokemon professionally contributed by people from all ages. In other words. PVP.

PVP in this game is completely fucking awesome, if you actually played it or took the time to even try, you'd understand.
Hell, the first turn of a match, I'd like to quote Egoraptor, "There is so much math going on in your head, like what if he uses this move or pulls out this pokemon, and if it's something that you don't expect it can completely turn the whole game."

The idea is to defeat your opponent using your favorite pokemon combinations. Like most PVPRPGs.

The game is far deeper than rock paper scissors, it's more like rock with fire, rock with water, rock with ice, rock with demon powers and scissors with fire etc.
It is simple to pick up, yes. But MASTERING the game seriously takes some sense of skill. There is nothing more gratifying then outsmarting your opponent and watching their whole strategy fall flat to whatever you planned to use.

Now then, next time, don't insult/get angry at something you don't know about.

I don't care. I think it'd be interesting if it weren't a clone of Mewtwo, but was instead another clone of Mew with different properties to it. Call it Mewbeta. What bothers me is that people think this is a new look for Mewtwo.

Guys, even Nintendo hasn't pulled a retcon like this before. The only retcon they've made so far was to make Jynx not look like a racist caricature in the US, and all that involved was making her face purple.

I thought it was kind of stupid when I first heard, but the design looks nice and I like that they're trying to bridge the new and the old. Fennekin > Froakie >> "Mewthree" >>> Sylveon >>>>>> Chespin, in my opinion (although starter's evolutions make them subject to change.)

I can kinda see the parallel people are drawing between "Newtwo" and DBZ. The first thing that came to mind was, this new design looks much closer to Giygue/Giygas than Mewtwo. It must be deliberate since Mewtwo's design was heavily inspired by Gigyue/Giygas.

I wish they'd finally redesign the core mechanics, so I'd actually care about my Pokemon.
Having a single sprite with numbers attached is acceptable for a GameBoy game, but it has no right to exist today.

But as long as people buy the same game with different monsters, I guess they'll just keep making them.

It looks like a cross between Mew and Mewtwo. You know, if that's what it's supposed to be, then it's a good enough design, but it could be more interesting (that said the first gen designs weren't especially complicated). I guess it depends what it's background is before I can decide if I think it's any good or not.

I really hope it isn't Mewthree, that would completely undermine Mewtwo, not to mention the fact that it looks less evolved. Perhaps it's a Mewtwo prototype. Mewzero?

Is that a carrying handle on the top of its head? Really? Because that's what it looks like to me. I mean, I know that the original mewtwo had that 'spine' protruding out of the back of its head and reconnecting with the back, but that handle just looks ridiculous. Like they ripped it off of a gamecube and glued it to the top of its head. And the head-tail thing just looks out of place. I liked Mewtwo, but this just looks kinda dumb to me, like what would happen if you spiked a Mew clone's tank with some antifreeze.

It was my birthday when they released this and I was hoping that it was going to be a more common pokemon. I was hoping to catch it and put it in a special place on my team.

I'm guessing you have never seen what the competitive scene is like? There is a ridiculous amount of depth to that, more than most multiplayer games. I've been playing pokemon for years and I still have no idea what anyone's talking about when it comes to that stuff.
