I'm trying to get my cousin to play shmups. I gave her Ikaruga as a chrismas present. Was that a good idea?
Actually despite the thread's initial 'off' OP I'm kinda impressed with the direction this thread has taken. It seems more of a 'bounce things off each other' thread rather than a 'bash men' thread that I thought it would becomeMcface said:Oh look, this thread again.

"OMG Why do you guys treat us differently?!"
Ikruga is a great game but I don't think it's a very good game to give someone who's just getting into the genre, she may get frustrated with the unforgiving difficulty.Halo Fanboy said:I'm trying to get my cousin to play shmups. I gave her Ikaruga as a chrismas present. Was that a good idea?
I do make pretty good chocolate cake ... I might.SonicWaffle said:Perhaps you should go and bake a pie to calm yourself down, or give birth? You know, fragile womanly activities. Very soothing, I'm told.
Dawn in which timezone?SonicWaffle said:Woman, you have impugned my cube. This shall not stand! I challenge you to a duel; pistols at dawn, winner keeps all Portal merchandise.
It isn't really co-op but why not play something like Gmod? Or Minecraft? You can play together but do your own thing. Or would that be too complicated for a girl not hugely into games?SonicWaffle said:I run into this problem a lot. There seem to be very few co-op games that let people play together, but go about their own business individually. Fable 2 did it, but it was shit-your-pants dreadful to play :-(
Whilst your avatar, just makes me laughSonicWaffle said:Your avatar, for some reason, scares the crap out of me.Emz said:Things
You said it like a douchebag, but your point is still valid. Especially the book comparison. However, it only holds water if you don't spend all your free time playing, or reading. However, everyone needs time to themselves so I would like to modify your post and say that the best attribute in a girlfriend/boyfriend/friend-friend is knowing when a person needs to be left alone.SonicWaffle said:At the risk of sounding callous, the most important attribute a gamer's girlfriend (or boyfriend) can have is knowing when to leave us alone. If we're playing a game together, that's great. If I'm playing some light-hearted puzzle game we can chat about, that's cool too. If I'm absorbed in a twelve-hour Fallout session or if I'm beating down the archdemon in Dragon Age, now is not a good time to discuss where our relationship is going! Woman, I've got shit to kill/rob/molest, do I keep poking you when you're trying to read a book? No! Then do me the same courtesy.Blitzwarp said:"I want a gamer girlfriend who is also a hot babe who understands that I need to spend 24 hours a day on WoW and who won't try to actually have a relationship with me unless I need sex."
Hmm. Reading it back, I sound like a douchebag, but oh well![]()
