God of War III

Kratos, son of Zeus (God), makes the ulimate sacrifice by dying for humanity and releasing hope into the world...for some reason I'm thinking I've heard this story before.

The ending from ME2. Not only is it the point where the game abruptly stops being good, it's so stupid and pointless that it causes a virtual singularity that rewrites time so that the rest of the game sucks as well. Seriously...what were they thinking?
It depends on how shittily you did. I'm guessing your entire team got slaughtered and you're blaming the game for it.

OT: KotOR II. I swear that game was still in alpha.
No, actually; everyone got out, I banged Tali, and I told the Illusive Man to sit and spin until he couldn't see straight. The problem was
that it concluded with a 2-bit morality preaching bit that made no sense in the context of the story; and this is after the BLAM boss where you fight a gigantic robotic fetus inside a big phallic spaceship run by insects. Those two, taken together, make the game's ending stupid and groan-inducing. I'm a long-time Bioware fanboy, and even I know that's a load of B.S.

Are you really telling me that's nothing worth noticing?
To be fair, it makes sense in context.

Neverwinter Nights 2. Rocks fall. Everyone Dies. All done by a bored narrator over slides. It's insulting that my 20th level characters would be so easily defeated. Although it alludes that they escaped to a different plane, I still feel ripped off since I'm not playing that game, I'm playing NWN2.
That was a real kick in the pants. For the record, I knew for certain that one party member died (that ***** of a sorceress who was always complaining about something. While I would have liked to have her spells for that annoyingly long final fight, it was pleasing when I got to stab her in the face several times. Because 10th level Dualist/10th level swashbuckler will murder the hell out of a magic user specked entirely for damage if they get close). Neeshka slipped out according to the narrator (she didn't side with the Shadow King). Other people may or may not have died.

In the Mask of the Beholder (which is, quite honestly, brilliant), I found what happened to several other party members. Both the Paladin guy and Evil Ranger died. The Dwarf (who's name I forget) escaped. I never did find out what happened to Elena, Sand or nutty gnome bard. I have to assume Elena died since the only potential female romance options died so I assume the same would be true of the male equivalents.

Fallout 3 (Pre-DLC): The slideshow isn't even as detailed as the ones in the previous games. The game makes it's most scathing judgement based on whether you died unnecessarily or not and it also arbitrarily kills you even if you have radiation absorbing friends with you.

Prototype. Now, I only played about half of it myself, but I saw the ending online. And it seemed pretty pointless. Like, there's no resolve. At all. :/

I cannot think of one game that takes the cake so here are the lamest i can think of:
Killer7 this ones too confusing to explain.
MediEvil 2 was lame because they leave you with a cliff hanger that they never do anything with.
Prototype was just disappointing because the final boss was too easy and the end cutscene didn't tie up all the loose ends. Same thing applies to Majora's Mask.
The fake ending of No More Heroes was, although humorous, pretty lame.
Twilight Princess' ending was lame as shit! Worst in the whole series. I mean he goes all riding off after he saves his village like, "Your okay now! Bye bye! Fuck you!" And Midna has to leave. Thats dumb.
In Assassins Creed had a lame ending too. They just let you wander around till you finally figure out to use your eagle vision and find all the shit thats written everywhere.

Fallout 3. I think we can all agree on that. (No DLC)
This should be end of the topic. Why did anyone post after this?

Also, why the heck do so many people seem to complain about the fact that you can't keep on playing in Fallout New Vegas after the end. Do you realize at all how long that would take to change all the dialogue of all the characters and change the setting around based on what you chose? Can you imagine how bugged it would all be and how much less resources and time would be spent on the game till that point? You know what I did after finishing Fallout New Vegas, just started a new game, I already was on level 30 and so I wondered what would happen if I played a totally different character. In fact, with how in Fallout New Vegas how depending on what you choose different quests become unavailable, that makes it even make less sense to let the player to keep on playing, when they could just start a new game and see what would be the result of different choices.
My problem with Fallout 3 is not that it ended but jsut that it was plain dumb with the fact that
Fawkes just refuses to press the button and let no one needlessly sacrifice themselves.

Also, Fable 2's ending wasn't that bad. I found it interesting how
There was no real big boss fight, and if you let the main antagonist rant, another character just kills him. Brilliant I think in a way actually that adds a sense of realism to the game and totally goes against the player's assumptions. Maybe a little too brilliant considering everything else about Fable 2 was so superficial (yet cool and stylish) that for the game to try doing something truly different as for as video games go was maybe too much of a clash.
I wonder if a deeper and more substantial game with a similar ending to Fable 2 would be praised instead of criticized.
