Languages you wished you could speak.

Finnish. I can already speak some of it, but I'd like to learn more of it as soon as I'm done learning German.

Russian, Japanese, and Chinese.

Russian is my optimal choice. I'd sound so awesome, or perhaps slightly less un-awesome.

I'd love to speak Russian and am learning it at a GCSE level.

Damnit, why didn't my high school teach Russian? There'd actually be some A Level takers.

I did German, and only one person out of the entire group wanted to do it for A Level. Of course, they couldn't because no one else wanted to.

I'm learning German, but what I'd truly love to know is Welsh Gaelic. It is such an ancient and pleasant sounding language, and really good for singing.

I am learning Japanese, still at a kind of beginners level but I know more than I am aware of consciously (I can pick things up that I wouldn't be able to say if you asked me).

I was doing quite well at learning two of their alphabets (Katakana and Hiragana) but lack of practice has caused me to fall back a bit. I shall dedicate myself a bit more strongly to it now.

All of them. Really. I would love to be able to engage in conversation with literally anyone in the world.

It would be awesome indeed. It would also make a pretty sweet job, you could get paid to translate anything, and to you it would be as easy as writing in English (or your mother tongue).

German, it would make this already fairly easy A-Level even easier, I do agree with iamq, it's a very visceral language, something as simple as saying what you had for breakfast said in not an overly extravagant manner can sound very aggressive. Whenever I use a Scottish accent it has to have quite an angry vibe to it as well for some reason.

You should try Dutch with it's heavy consonants. Everyone will look scared

Oh, and Japanese. Because then I would be able to go to every continent (except for Africa, maybe North yes, but the rest... not so much) and speak with someone. NA - English, SA - Spanish, EU - Polish, English, Spanish, Asia - Japanese, Australia - English.

How awesome would it be to be able to speak every single language in the world? It would be awesome of course. But there are three languages I wanna be able to speak fluently: German, I think the language sounds awesome and it has a violent and aggressive kick to it...Maybe that's cuz my first experience of the language was a Rammstein CD. French, whenever I hear my lecturer speak in French I just think it sounds awesome, quiet a romantic language. Lastly would be Japanese, there is just something exotic about the language and I tried learning it for a few months, it's hard when your starting out. So anyway, German, French and Japanese are my choices.

The only languages i've ever really been interested in learning are Russian and Japanese. Right now i'm considering teaching myself japanese in my spare time.
