Are you using P2P/file sharing/torrent sites? Or (gulp) opening email attachments without confirming the sender?

Yeah, I sometimes torrent things, but I use uTorrent, which claimed to be safe and shit.
Also, I have AdBlocker+.
And apparently, combofix doesn't exist.
This fucking virus is really becoming a rampant ass-pain.

It has been aged since I have got a virus.. I experienced 1 virus something like about 4-5 years ago on XP that that simply shows blue screen when you try to delete it. The only option was to reformat, all spy-ware programs that tried to delete it made blue screens. Now I am on Win 7 and no virus at all.

I don't know if this will work for you but, there was a program I had on a laptop called Avenger. You typed in the file name and it took out the object that was typed.
It was supposed to specifically take out viruses that hid in Win32.
Might work for you, might not. Either way best of luck to you.

Well, I can't tell much, cause I don't know what happened.
It's killed MS Security Center, and my old AVG has disappeared.
I'm running Vista (I know, that's part of the problem.) on Safe Mode.
The virus seems to keep running a program called "U1", and it takes up all my CPU.
Since I'm in Safe Mode, I can no longer run Task Manager, so I've lost my only way to see what it's doing.
I'm re-installing AVG, but I need something more effective.
Any help is lovely.

Here are some methods you could try:
1)Turn off the laptop - then turn on again and press f8 like no tomorrow until you get a screen - attempt a system restore from an earlier save point - if this works then quarantine the files with the virus and delete manually.

2)Do a full system reset - i.e. lose all ur files and saves etc but it would be very wierd if that failed to work.

3)or hook up ur laptop's hard drive to a firewalled computer then virus scan the hard drive using that other pc's anti-virus and remove the files.

4) in safe mode look at every file you can think of in recent downloads - go to computer in start bar then click uninstall or install programs to see if it has installed itsell - or surf ur program files after checking ur driver history and see which driver has just started working in recent days - by looking back over previous months/weeks to see and then search the driver/file and remove it.

:O one other option that is slightly ore extreeme but will work - go to start > computer > OS search the files for the program or any program added recently and delete it - i.e. if this started today delete any file that is in the OS files which was added in last 3 days even if it was fr something you know is ok

Format it and reinstall the OS. Then get some new anti-virus and don't download any recently downloaded files again(and avoid suspicious websites).
