OK, dear Esacpist, I have a question regarding a choice in laptops.
I've just sold my Toshiba Satellite which I had for the past 3,5 years and I'm about to get a new one.
Due to finances and logistics it's basically down to these two from this shop.

All I know is this: I'm aware Acer is not the best manufacturer. I know Dell has a longer warranty. I realize the Acer has better hardware and that Dell has better build.
Thing is, I've been hearing a lot of bad talk about Acer eMachines, but are they really that bad? Also, the Dell looks good but the fact that it has a smaller hard drive and only 6GB maximum memory (I looked it up), is it worth sacrificing specs for brand, and vice versa?
