Oh wait, that one was free? HELL YES! One of the most addictive games I've played in years. So good.

Ok ok, I'll say this. It was worth buying, but it's not worth playing again.antipunt said:Fallout 3 was definitely worth buying (imo)
I was wondering if I was the only one who hasn't touched it since I beat it as I refuse to pay for the DLCValentine82 said:Ok ok, I'll say this. It was worth buying, but it's not worth playing again.antipunt said:Fallout 3 was definitely worth buying (imo)
And yet, what you started out with was a confused rant which you proceeded to redefine and expand in several directions in further posts. The arguments used were less than coherent. You also dismissed suggestions flippantly, and misrepresented some of the games in the process. If this is what you intended:Valentine82 said:Untrue. I've actually explained several times that I was hoping for some good under the radar game that I may have missed. The Madman said:I'm sorry Valentine82, but it's become painfully obvious you have absolutely not intent on listening to anyone else nor did you ever make this topic with the intent of genuine debate or discussion. Every single game mentioned you've either ignored when you couldn't think of a suitably rude reply, or bashed with a bias.
then next time you might want to just say so. After reading the first pages of the thread, my impression was the exact same as Madman's.Hi guys!
I'm looking for something to play. I have played so many older games that I'd prefer something very recent, like -08 or -09.
Something in the genres X and Y would be nice; I have no interest in genres Z and W.
I have played e.g. A, B, C and D [titles that would probably come up, or are illustrative of your preferences].
I liked A and B, disliked C due to ..., and disliked D due to ....
Any suggestions?
Fun is subjective, the purpose of games is to have fun. Everything else is just semantics.Valentine82 said:For me, I'm a critic. I can take a game I absolutely love and criticize it's every flaw and still enjoy playing it every bit as much. I did this with Peter Liarface Molyneux's Black & White, the game has a lot of flaws many of which are not mere issues of personal preference, but at the end of the day I love the game and it's one of my alltime favorites despite those flaws.
I played Zeno Clash demo and I love it, I don't have the extra money to buy it, but if I had 20 bucks I would. As for fallout 3Halfbreed13 said:Seriously Valentine, look into ZenoClash. It's short but cheap, highly replay value, and ACE has promised free extra challenge towers and DLC. It's a first person game with the focus on the melee combat.
I love to play fallout 3 over again, but that is just me. I love the short time I got with fallout 1 (had to erase it because I wiped my PC), I think fallout 1 is good but fallout 3 isn't going with fallout 1 and 2, so you cant really compare (well u can, but I don't). I judge a game on its own merits, and I suggest it to anyone, you get a ton of fun hours even if you only go through the whole game once. Oh and also I think the DLC is good just not worth 10$, maybe they should sell all three for 15 bucks.Valentine82 said:Ok ok, I'll say this. I didn't buy it for shiny surfaces, I bought it for the freaking parkour. It gave me some 150 hours of entertainment, so I thought it was totally worth it.Valentine82 said:lacktheknack said:Mirror's Edge PC was worth my money. I'm a bratty teenager with no expenses, but still...Sorry, shiny surfaces are not enough to make a game worth playing for me. The story sucked, I was lead through it like a mule on a freakin' rope it was so linear, the plot was ridiculous... My complaints go on but, yeah, not worth buying for me.
Play Demigod and see for yourself, I stand by what I said. Demigod is an Isometric Death Match oriented game with very shallow RTS elements. It is primarily a multiplayer party game and it COULD HAVE been released on the Nintendo 64 ten years ago the only difference would have been split screen instead of online play and lower quality graphics. The Madman said:Fun is subjective, the purpose of games is to have fun. And the purpose of a critic is to judge and evaluate a product upon its merits and flaws. To explain the good and the bad. Most of this topic however if just you insulting games. Look at your description of Demigod? I quote: Demigod is a shallow, dumbed down action game disguised as an RTS. It's little more than a death match party game that could have been released on the Nintendo 64 ten years ago.
That is not being a critic. That sounds like a twelve year old fanboys rant on stuff he hates. You give no reason, no explanation. Just insults.
No I didn't I pointed out that the game was an old one and that while I loved it there hasn't been another like it since. I repeatedly referenced back to it after it was mentioned and I noted that I should have put it in my OP.And here was someone suggesting it to you because this entire topic started out as a masquerade where you asked for game suggestions, and you just did the equivalent of slapping the food out of their hands and demanding more.
I said that not everything I said was meant to be objective (I think I said that anyway), but I stand by what I said about Demigod and Peter Molyneux. Peter Molyneux does indeed lie.I have no problem with your overall idea, which I think is that you dislike the way the gaming industry is going these days or somesuch, but your point is so muddled and just downright mean and dismissive it's impossible for me to really understand what you're getting at. Even in my quote above you're saying you enjoy Black & White 2 and yet insulting Molyneux the whole while.
Apparently I'm not alone either judging by Nutcase above me. Nutcase & Madman! Hilarious!
I take your point about me not expressing my intent as well as I should have to begin with. By the way... Your Avatar is Edd (I think that was her name right)! That was my favorite Character!Nutcase said:And yet, what you started out with was a confused rant which you proceeded to redefine and expand in several directions in further posts.
